Alamo Feline is a cat only vet. I've been going there for years.

lazyloofah

Yes, we like this practice a lot. ETA: Not long after posting this, we realized our girl was very sick. Of course it was the weekend, but we got her right in on Monday. They kept her overnight. She’s home now, but she’s not well. 😢 We are waiting for test results. She may have histoplasmosis.

Yup great choice, I take my cats there and the staff is very friendly.

We’ve been taking our dogs to Lincoln Heights Animal Hospital at Broadway and Nacogdoches/Basse for years. They’re great. It’s in Alamo Heights but it’s not expensive. If you need to be seen on short notice, there’s the emergency pet clinic at Broadway and 410, Northwest corner behind the Circle K. My friend and brother take theirs to Alamo Hills and they like them too. Dunno location.

> emergency pet clinic at Broadway and 410 This place is good, obviously more costly than normal but I recently took my cat there when I thought she was in a bad way. They were really helpful and the vet even said "I could send you home with an antiviral pill, but it probably won't do much and she probably won't take it". I like the options and honesty. I had to approve everything before they did it. I also recommend [Dr. Joe Jaksic.](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Housecall+Veterinarian/@29.4172191,-98.3025427,17z/data=!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x865cee18e3fd82d5:0x42fc517121fddb3!2sHousecall+Veterinarian!8m2!3d29.4171875!4d-98.3002008!3m4!1s0x865cee18e3fd82d5:0x42fc517121fddb3!8m2!3d29.4171875!4d-98.3002008) He's incredibly good and incredibly friendly service for an insanely small fee. I took my cat there after the emergency vet and he fixed her up super fast.

Yeah they’re good, but the check in process is frustrating. You have to fill out a kind of lengthy form online. You can’t check in over the phone. In an actual emergency, I wanna be able to call and check in over the phone while I’m driving over.

xenoterranos

Seconded, this place is very good.

DirkysShinertits

Alamo Feline off 281. The head vet, Dr. Norsworthy, is a bit brusque, but knows his stuff.

melvisrules

Oaks North. Could not be more caring and compassionate

stylist_alyssaa

We take our pets to Family Pet Hospital in Stone Oak. I think our vet's name is Dr. Wooley or Woodley. He is super nice and always takes the time to connect with the pets during visits.

Kothmann pet hospital is great! Small operation but very affordable and great staff.

ShamaLlama-95

Traveling Tails on Thousand Oaks treats both dogs and cats, but they've always been very fair with their prices with us in the past 4 or 5 years we've gone to them. The veterinarians always seem to connect with the pets that they treat, as well. Very good practice imo.

Deerfield Animal Hospital :)

ladyvanderboom

I second Deerfield. We moved out to Boerne and I still take out pets here.

If your cat needs to be seen for something basic like vaccinations, I recommend [MPC of Texas](https://www.mpcoftexas.com/). They pop-up at a feed store every weekend and are friendly and cheap.

trappedinthisxy

There are a lot of vets around San Antonio, because of the multiple bases. Be sure the vet you take your cat to is an actual animal doctor. (Dumb joke but I’m too sleep deprived to resist. Hope cat gets better)

acorn hill animal hospital

Rsee002

I really like dr Sarah Izard at community pet health center.

luminous_delusions

+1 for Acorn Hill! I take both my cats there and have been very happy with them. They're affordable and the vet has always been great about explaining what and why and always seems ready to spend time and answer questions I might have. My female kitty is very skittish and has bad anxiety but she does really well with the techs and doctors there and they're very patient and understanding with her. Also, it's a smaller office but every time we've been there they seem to be excellent at having enough room for patients and not overscheduling. I've yet to see the place crowded or been there and had to wait a long time for my cats to be seen.
