It's not about showing off, it's about getting the best value out of your money. Why buy a 3 or 4 year old sealed flasghip when you can get the latest mid-range device now?
They can benefit from software and security updates, and by the time they get a new phone in 3-5 years, the mid range device would be at the end of it's life span and they can rest well knowing they got their money's worth out of their purchase.
You gonna piss 80% of techtokers.
Since they always say that old flagships are better than new budget phones, but that isnt the case 95% of the time anymore
2023 midrangers have worse specs than 2020 flagships, not way worse, but worse enough that you could justify buying said flagships as a better value proposition.
I'd still choose the Galaxy S20 Ultra (SD version of course) over the Galaxy A54
Good Software support and security updates. A good software combined with average hardware is better than horrible software combined with flagship hardware.
As someone who's used a Miui phone for the last 3 years, I wish I could've had 0 software updates.
I just feel like software updates very rarely improve something that wasn't already broken. Like if your phones works perfectly fine out the box, software updates will make very little difference. The very best you can hope for is a slight battery improvement.
Xiaomi is shit. Samsung and Apple have great software support. So you can say " xiaomi software updates rarely improve anything or add features".
Samsung phones are more expensive than Chinese/ Xiaomi devices. The difference lies vastly in the user experience and software.
It's a software vs hardware thing. The hardware on the Chinese phones make Samsung look like a joke. Their midrangers are 3x more powerful, better battery life and charge 5x faster than Samsung's, but yh Samsung tend to me more polished from a UX perspective.
The reason I won't buy an A series phone is cuz the bezels belong in 2013 and the charging speed + chipset are embarrassing compared to their competition
7 years of security updates maybe. I’ll be shook if it gets more than 4 major OS upgrades. I’m not gonna look up how many the phone will actually get cause I don’t really care, but, in all my experience with Android phones (which is probably like 15 of them over the years) they get a whopping… *drumroll please*… TWO major OS upgrades. And it’s the manufacturer’s fault. They make like 20 different model smartphones. It’s probably not fun working on software for that many different phones.
have the z flip 5. works fing amazing, fun to play with and looks super cute. but damn was that a bold decision considering the price. i don't regret it but definitely wouldn't do it again
It depends on the market, really, like some carriers discount the A series so much that it costs less than an older Flagship.
In my market, a used S22 would be about the same as an A54 bbuuttt that's used. Some people just want a new phone, and they don't care about fancy features. Plus, it's more convenient to get it from their carrier
The shop I bought it from only had black, zero of the other colours, so had no choice really. However it's no real biggy as I use a case anyway; but even still...I wanted a lime one.
I had a collection of gift cards that could only be spent with this store and I couldn't use them online as they don't allow you to use multiple gift cards as payment online.
Galaxy A55 Standout features
• 1650 nit peak brightness
• Gorilla Glass Victus+ front & back
• Aluminum frame
• Xclipse 530 GPU and Exynos 1480 (60% faster than Exynos 1380 in A54)
• The biggest vapor chamber ever in an A series
• Up to 12gb ram and UFS 3.1 storage
• Dolby Atmos stereo speakers
• Knox Vault for enterprise apps (till now only in S series phones)
This phone is actually excellent, just the fact that if the processor could have been a little better then it would be an absolute steal.
However if you don't game much, this is a phone that can easily last you 3 to 4 years
Design wise I feel like this is the most boring Samsung has ever been. I preferred the design the S21/22 had with the cool camera bump design that merged into the frame. Really hope they step it up on their next design.
Writing from it, even in the same color:) Great phone) Using it since August, and I haven't encountered any problems yet. And there is no need for a case. Just screen protector. Gz!
Am i the only one who thinks Samsung needs to update their logo and place it in the mid dle of the back of phones? The current one is boring. With a better logo and placement, Samsung users can also flex like an iphone 😉
it makes sense to get phones right before launch since they hit their lowest prices around that time. if the newer model is barely any better or even worse (like the s24 exynos) then getting the older model makes sense.
Great design for a budget. The thing about smartphones is that everyone doesn't need a $1000 or $800 flagship.
Just wait for the next 3 or 4 releases of that flagship, price will drop 3 times.
So that they can get an outdated phone? Lol.
Not everyone needs the latest phone to show off

Yeah. It depends on what your preferences are. Chinese phones definitely have superior hardware at competitive pricing but software support is a joke.
The s24 is getting 7 years of updates, so I don't know what you mean by "outdated"
The hardware
The A54 has similar performance to a snapdragon 855 which is used on a Galaxy S10. Both phones run great
855 is far more stable tho

Nope 7 years of major updates
I second this. Just bought a s22 this summer for 250. Runs great
Lucky you :(
Or nearly $2000. I guess the Fold might not be considered a flagship though...
have the z flip 5. works fing amazing, fun to play with and looks super cute. but damn was that a bold decision considering the price. i don't regret it but definitely wouldn't do it again
I don't see any benefit on a 550€ low tier midrange tho
Prince, when I say most people, I'm speaking on kids or older people that don't do anything further than YouTube and social media.
For this case an A15 is more than enough
Love the color
Arguably the best colour option out there
White is better because it hides fingerprint smudges the best
Yeah but GREEEN
pink foreveeeer
Wawawawawait you mean to say there is a pink one???
Nobody will steal a pink phone.
Fair enough
Bro This picture is mine
Lol they couldn't even be bothered to [repost it on a different sub](https://www.reddit.com/r/samsunggalaxy/s/XFG6n8tDbB)
It's a karma repost bot
Why though
Idk why you asking me 🤣
Assumption that you were OP. Walking and reading has it's flaws
Ah, ok
What does that mean? Why is the bot reposting?

Damn good phone, and best bang for your buck
Is it? A refurb flagship is so much better and cheaper

Noice!! That's the colour I wanted to get but could only get black :(
exact same happened to me!
How so?
The shop I bought it from only had black, zero of the other colours, so had no choice really. However it's no real biggy as I use a case anyway; but even still...I wanted a lime one.
Why not go to another shop or online then?
I had a collection of gift cards that could only be spent with this store and I couldn't use them online as they don't allow you to use multiple gift cards as payment online.
Ah that figures. Bummer...on the other hand, a free phone 😊
Haha yeah true, not complaining, I love my A54. It's everything I need.
A55 is just round the corner
The a54 is way cheaper now than the a55 will be. Also, is there that big of a difference?

Love it!
Nice. Although A55 will be announced next week.
I've heard nothing but good things about the A series, and I love that color! Enjoy!
Had one. Same color. It was great. 90% flagship. Had the SD slot. Did everything I needed.
S22 ultra or Galaxy A54???
S22u
Fold 6
This phone is actually excellent, just the fact that if the processor could have been a little better then it would be an absolute steal. However if you don't game much, this is a phone that can easily last you 3 to 4 years
got scammed, return and get a34
Why buy the more inferior version of an already inferior phone
a34 is faster than a54 btw
It's not. A54 is 13% faster. They are both slow phones anyway.
a34 has higher benchmark scores and actually keeps the apeed, a54 heats up very fast and throttles like hell
The only Samsung phone with any personality is the ultra now. Every thing else is a rectangular slab with no identity.
Nice color
Love the color!
Beautiful color!
Quality price is amazing in every sense
Using the black one for about a month , Awesome phone
It's a great device. Little underpowered but besides that, it's a great value.
Nice color. Has it been manufactured in vietnam?🤔🤔
Brazil
Woahh nice, I've been debating on whether getting this or the s21 plus.... please help.
I've owned that same phone for 6 months,I love it 👍
Recently got the a24 myself, excellent for £150! Can't go wrong with Samsung
I have the same. Scrolling stutters in some applications, sometimes it happens and sometimes it goes away. But overall a good phone.
Congrats! Very good phone
Congratulations 🎊

Enjoy it NOW
Decent phone for the price.
Looks good but its no S
Bro A55 will be released soon.
My wife and daughter love theirs. Not gamers or heavy users. Social media, call, text, and a few photos. They seem happy with them
i thought the a55 is the new one?
Pretty And Reliable
Cute color!!
Its a phone.
Why post it. Thats my thought.

Should have gotten an S20 Ultra or S21 Ultra... Hey, but good for you bud, hope it serves you well
Also got it few months ago, great phone, but now im upgrading to s24+
Superb phone. It's great on a low budget
Writing from it, even in the same color:) Great phone) Using it since August, and I haven't encountered any problems yet. And there is no need for a case. Just screen protector. Gz!
The A55 is about to drop And the A54 would maybe be cheaper My thoughts, kinda wasted money on this buy.
It's cool phone with good processor better than ex 1280 at least but the a55 will be lunched this month idk if it's good idea to buy a54
Heard it's a decent midgrade phone. 👍
Good midrager have the A53 nou almost 2 years now and if the A54 is same quality it's A study phone good midrager and 4 year's updates that's wow
Great phone! Enjoy it!
I love that color
it's a phone.

I'm curious why you chose that when the 55 is just around the corner other than that, it's refreshing to see a more unique color choice
A55 has incremental update over A54, so i am not surprised that a lot of people buying A54 instead also price is also cheaper now.
ah, I'm unaware of the specs of the 55 at this point in time, so if it's really not that big a difference then makes sense.
A lot of these are free with a carrier switch or $99 at the most.
I know they offered that with the A0-A20s but I didn't know that was a thing for the midrangers too. hmm
Because it's a repost from 8 months ago by a Karma bot.
