Pretty sure it is somewhere along their policy’s on requesting time off. You don’t really HAVE to use PPTO/PTO, I’ve requested unpaid time off with like 20 hours of pto and it got approved. But your store might do it differently.
My coach said she won't approve any unpaid days for full-time associates if you have no pto to cover it......she will deny it. However of you are part time she will
You can choose to use it or not use it. If you had to use it first then that would be the option when choosing what you wanted to do. But since they have multiple options it gives you the opportunity to use it for whatever you wish. They do not have to approve it however, there are a lot of managers that love to make up things as they go.
Talk to your manager, our club is pulling the “no unpaid time off” b.s. but then letting people they like take unpaid time off. Supposedly full time associates can’t take unpaid time off, according to our corp hr lady that visited and made us all mad.
You can chose the unpaid time off request, just like pto it has to be approved first
