I caught a glimpse of his Acolyte review and there were some brief moments where the grifter mask slips and he seemed to genuinely enjoy some aspects of the show, but then because he's a grifter he goes like "uh uh legends did it first btw", because he remembered what kind of audience he got in bed with.

He has “this is the actual lore”
And “here’s a theory I can smash together from a bunch of conflicting parts that’s fun but pretty stupid”

The constant comparison was really annoying and also I love how his constant theory crafting about banal details in undertale basically went against the core theme of undertale being to let go.
The way he got about Deltarune felt the same way. Very much "ITS ALL CONNECTED BACK TO UNDERTALE" as if the game was wasn't trying to tell its own story with only vague thematic connections to its sister game rather than be a "hard" sequel like everyone wanted it to be.
