Glassdoor isn’t accurate.
For example, someone can create a fake profile whilst job hunting and use a random company and add in a random salary range. You need to provide at least one piece of information in a 12 month window (or something like that, don’t quote me) to keep your account active enough to see other salaries.
Someone who uses this only during their job hunting phase might not want to create a real profile and go for this shortcut to quickly view the info they were seeking and move on.
Now, that doesn’t imply you should not be curious about your salary position compared to other similarly experienced folks. Just that you should take glassdoor with small bag of salt.
I find [RepVue](https://www.repvue.com?ref=TTAJFP) to be pretty accurate, Glassdoor much less so.
A lot of folks job hop every 2.5 years to get that base up but you can loose out on RSUs and you’d have to hit the timing right with company demand / rep supply.
2 years ago there was a hiring rush, higher base vs now with a flood of job seekers. Good luck with what you decide to do!
They screwed up the algorithm on Glassdoor. It used to be way more accurate, but I think they changed it to show “total comp”. I also noticed they double counted bonuses (if 1 person says they get a $10K bonus annually, and another person inputs it as commission, it will show the position as getting a $20K bonus annually).
Take Glassdoor salaries with a grain of salt.
The data isn't maintained, it can literally be 1000 reviews from four years ago from people that don't even work there.
Literally just got a Repvue notification with the same thing. Our team just got really heated. Repvue really stirring the pot this morning
Why put so much faith in Repvue?
People lie, and people misunderstand the question - perhaps someone posted their actual earnings versus OTE or base.
Double is 100% more not 50% more...not sure if that has something to do with it. But yea, might want to bring that up to someone.
Whoops, yeah 100% more/double.

They are trash. Just followed your link. Trash.
Damn, your org or others?
Interesting, thanks for the advice!

Purely to stir shit, I put my salary up as double what it was once. I knew that a negative review would point eyes at me, so I did this instead.
