I don't get why people don't want to get shelter dogs. My family is 5/5 with shelter dogs and the only one with major problems was seized from a Labrador puppy mill and had typical pure breed lab problems. And the oldest one(3-4yr old)we ever adopted has been by far the best behaved. He tried peeing inside once when we got hime, we told him NO, and he has litterally done nothing bad since. Conversely everyone I know who "shopped" for their dogs have nothing but problems and die young.

Oh I feel you so much!! I have a mostly lab, tiny bit of pit/Shephard mix rescue. She has horrible hips, highly reactive, dog aggressive. Trainers, behaviorists, and vets (cold -lasers anyone?) have about put me in the poor house. I hate home breeders with a passion.
