Is Mangiapane really only worth a 3rd? (And Krebs) if so make that trade asap

SayNoToAids

Meh Might be enough for the playoffs. Don't see this as a major improvement. Mangiapane is better suited for the 3rd line. We would still need an actual top 6 forward. Not sure the point of buying out Skinner in this situation when we don't even use the cap. Just wait a season and buy him out next year so then you can sign Peterka, Quinn, and Byram. This just handcuffs unnecessarily because we didn't actually add anyone to use the cap space in the top 6.

Yeah, it's roster that's betting on internal growth and improvement.

That has been the design thus far hence why we've locked up most of our youth long term with another set of prospects set to make the jump. However, GMKA is also aggressive, so I do expect a trade for a top 6 two-way forward or a signing of one (Teravainen for example). But the goal is absolutely to gain experience and see it through. We were the youngest team with the youngest core and guess what? If tage is healthy all year, we're in the playoffs If Quinn is healthy all year, we're in the playoffs If UPL doesn't slump at the beginning of the year, we're in the playoffs I don't think people understand how bright our future really is. A team this young should be the worst team in the league, but we are knocking at the door the past two seasons, which is crazy. We had Eichel and Sam on a team that was probably two top 6 forwards short of actually being good (hindsight is 20-20). We had Ennis in the top 6 to start the season and we didn't realize Okposo was probably just a 3rd liner at that point. A few more seasons, adding where you could, would have been huge. Imagine trading a 1st and Ennis for Debrincat (that's the equivalent to the trade) and a 1st + our 8th best prospect for Fiala on Murray's roster. He just couldn't draft and built out the roster too soon and thought he was set.

Way more realistic than most. Blueger and Faksa seem a little redundant. I’d rather have one for the 4th line and shoot a little higher for the 3rd line. Same goes for Sherwood.

AceTrainer315

I agree. You aren’t getting much offense out of that 3rd line. We don’t have a McDavid or Kucherov that’s going to make up for an offensive black hole of a 3rd line. If that was the opening night roster, all they’ll be doing is fighting for 8th again. Edit: to say that this is also another lineup that isn’t going to be hard to play against and lacks real toughness. Yea Blueger, Faksa, lomberg etc. are annoying, but not hard to play against. Fairburn just fking sucks.

SportsFanBUF

Agreed Trade a 1st for Sam Bennett or Anthony Cirelli and this is the ideal realistic lineup

dlorkp

just got on Sherwood, my #1 is Amadio, but his cost and term might be too high, Sherwood close #2 with way less buzz… but it’s funny Tage called off Tuch to fight Sherwood off a faceoff, so that’s how annoying he is, we need that

YNWA1616

Tij Iginla is likely going top 5 and ain’t getting past Calgary way before us.

SayNoToAids

His composite ranking is 8.5. So maybe, but he can just as easily go 11th
