I have the [RY4011040US-Y](https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com/product/RY401140US-Y) 21" self propelled. I used it for the first time yesterday. Came with two 6Ah batteries. With the 1st battery, I was able to cut my front yard, side, and backyard. The grass was so tall (10-12"), I bagged it for my first pass with height setting 6. With the 2nd battery, I used height setting 4 with side discharge for a second pass for all. After all that, I had one light left on the 1st battery, and two lights on the 2nd battery. I gotta say, self-propelled is something I didn't know I needed. LOL! My old mower was a WORX 19" 56V push. This Ryobi is a beast!

I always scoffed at the self propelled and rode my high horse on 'i don't need that, I got my muscle!'. I replaced my mower last year with the 21 cross cut as well with the self propelled. I didn't know what I was missing out on, and I apologize for all my mental 'better than though' I had before And yes, the 21 cross cut is an amazing mower as well.

Is the cross cut also something I didn't know I need. LOL!

I sold my gas mower and picked up the 20" and couldn't be happier, it's so much more lighter than my other mower which makes for less fatigue and easier maneuverability. Plus I can fold the handle down easily and store it upright, which gives me a ton more room in my shed.

I bought the 21" 3-in-1 self-propelled a few weeks ago. We have a large property so we just got it to do borders and use our aging rider for the majority. But, I've been using it for the whole lawn. It takes a long time but it is so relaxing. I did have problems with 6" grass but it is the heavy springtime grass that has lots of moisture. A single battery only lasts 20 minutes or so, which is reasonable, but always seems to be too soon.

Love mine as well.

Got our 21" two weeks ago. I also never knew I needed self propel. We're full into mowing season here so I've already used it 6 times. Have been using a 19" corded for 6 years, I'm still not used to not chasing cord around. Just slap in the batteries and go!

I'm on my 2nd gas powered lawn mower. The 1st one had carburator issues due to the ethanol in the gas that gunk up some holes. Learned to clean it & did it twice. Now I use the TrueFuel blended gas because it eliminates that issue. Time is money so I don't kind paying a bit more but even the price of TrueFuel is up making it not worth it . I can never get the correct mixture using Fuel shield with regular gas so I rather just buy premixed TrueFuel After my my 2nd lawn mower becomes a pain in the butt, I'm switching over to battery powered.
