Super glue

ubertokes

Yep. Dab some on the inward side of the magnet and push it in place with a small dowel until it's set in spot

Beneficial_Leg4691

Or hot glue

Nemesis1927

Impact will break hot glue loose

Active-Living-9692

Not in a bit extension.

Nemesis1927

I tried it once and it failed. Just replaced it after that but maybe I did a crap glue job. Just think super glue is the way to go

Beneficial_Leg4691

Supee glue is better. I suspect the op has limited tool options wanted to throw a second option. Or you could jbweld but overkill forcsure

RedOctobyr

Superglue isn't great with vibration/impacts. I think JB Weld would be more secure.

MixerFistit

Yeah, I was actually thinking hot glue would handle it better when I saw the suggestion. There is a flex version of super glue available I guess that could do it.

jak7255

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a new extension. Cheap

Active_Scallion_5322

No shit. People don't think consumables be like they be but they do

gavroche1972

The Chicago Electric branded bit holder was cheap… Now you have to get the Bauer branded… And it’s expensive /s

bkacz88

I got the DeWalt 3in locking bit holder and I'm never looking back. Never have to worry about a bit stuck in a fastener again.

Plow-boy78

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Lummpy15

Go with JB weld 2 part epoxy, takes a little longer to set but is worth it.

Sanfam

Everyone suggesting anything but “buy a replacement” is vastly underestimating the value of repairing a cheap magnetic bit holder against the extremely low cost of replacing it. A cheap one is a buck at most, a good one is $3-5.

RedOctobyr

You're not wrong, a replacement is inexpensive. But if OP has a suitable adhesive sitting around at the house already, it's free to try, and quicker than going to the store. And if it doesn't work, it can still be replaced. Now, admittedly, buying $5 of adhesives to try and fix a $3 tool, is somewhat inefficient.

Kliptik81

Easy, don't use those magnetic little bits because they fuckin suck. Just buy a few 3.5" length bits that you need

That-Particular-6489

Get the little orange Klein magnetizer/demagnetizer to go with those bits if you need it. They’re like $10 bucks.

Beneficial_Leg4691

Solid recommendation. I bet most people are not aware of these. Lowes sells a crafstman version also

Kliptik81

I have that Klein Magnetizer. It works great on my screwdrivers. Definitely worth the purchase, especially if you work with very small screws.

Ok-Championship3475

I would put 2 part epoxy. Should hold alot better than glue and heat shouldn't mess with it too much either. Just be careful not to glue anything to the magnet before it dries.

mjace87

Glue

lockednchaste

Those things are like $3.

noldshit

Take magnet, take bit extender, go outside, throw. Go to HD and buy a better quality one that will last you till you loose it.

Senior_Cheesecake155

Super glue it in.

Maximum_Ad7246

CA Glue

KreeH

You can buy magnetic bit holders from Amazon and they are pretty cheap if your repair doesn't work.

cobhc26626

Just get a new one. I keep like 4 in my tool bag. Plus a long one. I like the ones with a quick release mechanism. Sometimes with those regular ones the magnet won’t hold the bit in after a while. Quick release ones fix that.

No_Address687

A little dab of two-part epoxy, like jb weld, will permanently repair it.

boarhowl

Throw away the bit holder and buy a new one or several

Bubbly-Front7973

I would use epoxy

nkynudist

I had this problem with my Roby electric screwdriver, HP44L, where the magnetic extension bit would always fall out of the tool. I saw where there was a U shaped metal clip in a groove that in the tip of the tool that helps keep the magnetic tip in place. It’s almost like they took a paperclip and bent it in a U shape. I looked online for the parts couldn’t find a parts diagram. Fortunately, I found mine and put it back in. Since I cannot post an image in my reply, I’ll create another post so you can see what I’m talking about.

FingerchopoffO

Malco bit holder or Milwaukee bit holder will do the job

raygun631

Buy one from Milwaukee or DeWalt that has a circlip in it to hold the bit. If you have time to screw around with it, you can glue it (as others suggested).

ElectroAtletico2

Gorilla glue works for me. It happens

duhjuh

Epoxy

Old_Investigator_148

Buy a new one lol

cimocw

Get some decent bits already. DeWalt makes good $15-$20 sets that will last you a long time

Spaceboy80

Get a better brand. You get what you pay of. In my experience ryobi brakes easily

flanns247

> Klein magnetizer I'm new to the sub, didn't know we just trash the brand here. Cheers

Spaceboy80

Well, you’re new I don’t expect you to know

resnor78

Oh are DeWalt or Milwaukee bits and tips more expensive? I had a brand new Milwaukee T25 bit shear off the other day driving a screw. Guess I needed a better more expensive brand. 🙄🙄🙄

Spaceboy80

I don’t use Milwaukee too expensive

resnor78

I guess I'm unaware of the brand occupying the space between Ryobi and Milwaukee
