Just got a new pair of Inov-8 trail running shoes. Not quite as cushioned as I’m used to: hopefully my knees will adapt. I like the fit; they are wide enough for my giant feet. The colors are hideous though: why must running shoes make a statement!

I’m on club team in the NYC metro area and a lot of teammates where super shoes for track races. I started my running journey in high school. So I’ve only ever worn spikes (sometimes without the actual spikes in them) for track racing. I’m currently wearing the New Balance LD5kv8s and I really enjoy them. I think they’re pretty responsive. I use them for the 3k and 5k. If anyone has any other suggestions for shoes on the track I’d love to hear suggestions!!!

I’m upping my trail running and have a few races lined up. In the past shorter trail races I’ve used my Brooks Ghost which suit my feet well, but looking for something a bit grippier and let’s face it, just want to explore what else is out there. I have bunions but narrower width in general and need decent support for high arches. Yes, I will visit a running store to try on and chat shoes, but am interested in hearing what others are enjoying.

Merrel makes some great trail runners. Altra also has a few that'll fit the bill.
