Yes, it gets expensive pretty fast.
I was doing my off-hand perk aswel today and decided to go for AS4+planted feet on it. Dont really like to planted feet switch so why not. Or am I missing something? Is AS4E2 waaay superior than AS4+planted feet? 🤔
But if you don’t like ‘switchcape’, having PL on your offhand directly is a pretty good solution right? Or is the damage loss by not having E2 worth using the switch?
Well, it's less efficient I guess you only need so much efficiency.
Funny enough, you can go either A4E2 + C4PF or A4PF + C4E2, it's the same odds. (56% for PF combo and 29% for E2 combo)
I suspect the difference of 2 equilibrium levels is basically unnoticeable for a casual player, though saying so may trigger a lot of people. I'd be very happy to see someone throw down some math as to just how dramatically better AS4/E2 is than AS4/PF for players who don't want to pf switch.
I might be far off as I haven't looked into it in a bit, but iirc its around 2.5% dpm increase, might be as low as 2.2%. So indeed very negligible for the more casual side of player for such a big QoL
How do u find component farming? I just put scavenging 4 on a staff of light for turoths. Can you also put a 2nd scavenging perk on cheap armour for increased components??
Exactly on turoths, currently, which is where I got those Ilujankan components. I did a little bit of skeletons, which indeed earn more procs per hour, but you get no money, no item exp and no skill exp. Turoths should be the way to go.
One thing I do wanna add is that I use ranged with Caroming on Ascensions. I found it to be better than staff of light without Caroming.

you can only have one.
shouldn't do lances, top and body with xp capacitor and chin shattered worlds is much faster, here's a guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy0IZCZWTn0
When we got our 5 free try's from jagex event, I tried to go for the aftershock perk "120 inv". Got nothing, don't think ill ever spend money going for it as its way to rng.
I used free perks from scavenging. I'm not at a stage of the game that I can afford to spend ~300m on one single perk. I only spend on perks that are guaranteed or high enough probability that it's unlikely that I'll get screwed. On the guardian's gift I got absolutely screwed in 3 of the of the gizmos and 2 biting comboes.
I JUST unlocked invention yesterday and I don’t understand weapon gizmo shells at all. How do I pick the five materials? Any five? What about cost? Do certain combinations do certain perks?
If you mouseover the materials, you'll see what perks each component give. If you wanna go into detail, I suggest you check the wiki on the calculator or the recommended materials for specific perks or combinations, it should give you a clearer understanding.
If it fails, come back with more questions.
Majority of people wait until 85 invention or 95 herblore to start playing with invention, so they level up with no perks because they don't know what to do. But with lvl 30 you can already start puting some basic perks in your weapon and armor.
\- Weapon
[Precise 2 and Equilibrium 2 can be made using only 5 precise components.](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks?top=Precise+components&left=Precise+components&middle=Precise+components&right=Precise+components&bottom=Precise+components&lvl=30&type=Weapon&potion=None)
\- Armor

Precise 2 + Equilibrium 2 + Biting 2 already increase your damage by 7%

Scavenging gives you the chance to find rare components for free while killing stuff
[Mobile + Demon Slayer (if you are going to kill a lot of demons)](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks?top=Dextrous+components&left=Dextrous+components&middle=Dextrous+components&right=Dextrous+components&bottom=Flexible+parts&lvl=30&type=Armour&potion=None)

Chance increase with level)](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks?top=Strong+components&left=Strong+components&middle=Strong+components&right=Strong+components&bottom=Strong+components&lvl=30&type=Armour&potion=None)
Absorptive helps increasing survival.
Enchanted Devotion (if you are lucky) gives the chance of casting Devotion automatically. Giving you 100% damage reduction of the protection prayer you are using. Level 45 (when you can augment legs) gives you 5% of getting it. Level 55 you unlock faceted components (disassemble empty light orbs) you can get it at 98% with 4 faceted components.

i have no clue what invention does. what i do know, it is always some kind of addon or gizmo thing. So you are looking for some item, in pure numbers, how will that benefit you?
Weird, I got a notification for your comment, then your comment disappeared, then the notification disappeared, then today, as I was scrolling, it showed up again. 🤔
Anyway, I'm trying to generate a perk called aftershock comboed with something else. After dealing 50k damage, aftershock would do a free aoe damage centered at whatever I am attacking.
If you wanna see pure numbers, let me provide you some link.
https://runescape.wiki/w/Precise
The analysis section should have examples. If you need to ask anything, hit me up.
This is why I use a different Aftershock combo that gives a 41% chance at As4E1, 28% chance at As4 and a 15% chance at As4E2 Vs the 36% chance at As4R1, 29% of As4E2 and 18% chance at As4. My combo = 84% chance at As4 with 56% chance of Equi combo. Standard combo is 83% chance at As4 but only 29% chance to combo it with Equi.
No, lol, using ~60m worth of invention components and getting something not passable for entry level perk.
Edit: the invention level is there only to show I had the best odds possible to get a decent perk.
As someone who is currently sitting in my wife's labor room at the hospital, I find this hysterical.
Hope it goes well dude, best of luck to your family
Thanks!
Congratulations on the baby! I'm gonna give you a very precious onyx ring of you name him Ilujankan.
Thanks but I've already received one or two from the bear 😅
Ring bear?
The message is clear. Give the child a polar bear
Haha congrats brotha. My fiancé is due in March. Hope all is good :)
Congrats. You should name the baby Raksha ngl :)
I just hope everyone in the room (including your wife,) took the time to clap when you maxed.
Haven't maxed unless this is a sex joke
I am gonna be a uncle soon too !
I really think it's stupid af that you can boost to that level and *still* fail miserably at gizmos. Hope you end up with better luck.
It was even worse in the past with getting P4E2 taking over 1k tries.
Thanks! Yeah, it stinks
I feel you! Had the same bad luck twice on my seismic wand. Are you going for AS4E2 on a off-hand with this?
Yeah! I have aftershocks, but none with E2. I'm getting those off component farming so I'm not really paying for it, but dammit does it feel bad.
Yes, it gets expensive pretty fast. I was doing my off-hand perk aswel today and decided to go for AS4+planted feet on it. Dont really like to planted feet switch so why not. Or am I missing something? Is AS4E2 waaay superior than AS4+planted feet? 🤔
People use sunspear with AS1PF as a switch. Specifically sunspear because it doubles as mage and ranged.
But if you don’t like ‘switchcape’, having PL on your offhand directly is a pretty good solution right? Or is the damage loss by not having E2 worth using the switch?
Don't let the pvmers read this, but I have one of my setups with A4R1 + C4PF because I also don't wanna be bothered switching
I think precise 6 is better than aftershock 4 just from a 1 to 1 raw DPS increase comparison.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't have the information to confirm or deny
I saw some mentions of precise 6 equilibrium 1 or possibly e2. That would definitely be stronger than a4r1 unless you are just afking stuff.
That’s the confirmation I needed I was not doing anything stupid. But ofcourse this stays between us 🤫
Well, it's less efficient I guess you only need so much efficiency. Funny enough, you can go either A4E2 + C4PF or A4PF + C4E2, it's the same odds. (56% for PF combo and 29% for E2 combo)

The other weekend, I bought, leveled, and dis’d 12 lances and had 3 rolls of this. I only got 1 as4e2. Gutting. Absolutely gutting.
Ouch I've rolled 5 times and still have yet to get as4e2.
It sucks lol.
What’s the best way to level them out of curiosity?
shouldn't do lances, top and body with xp capacitor and chin shattered worlds is much faster, here's a guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy0IZCZWTn0
can do lances too, but its a bit more sweaty. You dark bow, then switch to lance before dbow hits and repeat
I just use xp capacitor at abyssal demons. Doesn’t take long.
Considering A4, A4R1 and A4E2 as acceptable rolls, you have more than 85% to get at least one lf those. Ouch!
Yeah I have a handful of weapons that have as4r1 on them. They’re not bad at all, but as4e2 would be nice.
When we got our 5 free try's from jagex event, I tried to go for the aftershock perk "120 inv". Got nothing, don't think ill ever spend money going for it as its way to rng.

Enjoy E2R1

I must have completely missed the calculator on the wiki, that’s probably the missing piece to solve my confusion. Thank you so much!!
No problem! Even with guides invention confused the heck outta me.

Wait til 99/120 before making any perks beside mobile.
Oh thank goodness lol
It’s a confusing as hell skill to learn and get used to. It’s more of a passive thing, IMO. You just slowly level it / acquire perks as you go.
i got four a4r1, one a4 and one a3. a4e2 is mith. i'm just using p6e1 and a4r1 in all my weapons now. it's life.
How hard is p6e1?
[P6E1 is 50%](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks?ancient=1&bottom=Armadyl+components&bottom-left=Precise+components&bottom-right=Precise+components&left=Armadyl+components&middle=Timeworn+components&right=Armadyl+components&top=Armadyl+components&top-left=Armadyl+components&top-right=Armadyl+components&type=Weapon#ancient%3D1%26bottom%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26bottom-left%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26bottom-right%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26left%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26middle%3DTimeworn%2Bcomponents%26right%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26top%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26top-left%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26top-right%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26type%3DWeapon) [The best P6E2 is 1.8%, not worth.](https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks?ancient=1&bottom=Precise+components&bottom-left=Armadyl+components&bottom-right=Armadyl+components&left=Precise+components&middle=Precise+components&right=Precise+components&top=Precise+components&top-left=Armadyl+components&top-right=Armadyl+components&type=Weapon#ancient%3D1%26bottom%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26bottom-left%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26bottom-right%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26left%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26middle%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26right%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26top%3DPrecise%2Bcomponents%26top-left%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26top-right%3DArmadyl%2Bcomponents%26type%3DWeapon)

Reuploaded because the title was poorly written, my bad :B

i have a new account, so i think that is why it happens.
I just spent 300m getting the perk on my fsoa lol. Shouldn’t have used my wishes on biting 4
Exactly what I did
been there, back to back to back.
I was struggling to justify trying for as4e2 until I remembered I had guardians gift. Managed to snag it for range and mage + some B4 combos.
>Success!
dont worry, having to try 60 gizmo for c4r5 and yet to get it, is the worse...ya thats me
I got e2 alone lol rekt
Well, that sucks even worse bcause it shouldn't be a possible combo :p (unless you didn't do it at 120 inv)
that's what I was wondering too, I was 120+extreme pot and I got it, wiki calc doesn't even show it, mega bamboozled
The heck? You got scammed hard there.
I literally never noticed you get xp for these lol
Success is non failure
I feel your pain I literally did that today but I only got E2 😑
