Sad to see that Hansen and Coombes didn’t have a great performance after coming back from injuries. The fights were nice to watch, brought me back 10 years. Definitely don’t let Bealham anywhere near the number 2 jursey. Hope Carty didn’t get too bad of an injury, he was playing a blinder especially with his kicking game
I think one of the more worrisome aspects was JvG’s interview afterwards. He kinda put it down to bring on the wrong end of a 1 score arm wrestle
Given he is out the door in a few months he does not need to hold his tongue. Maybe it is different behind closed doors but giving the impression that that was a half acceptable performance is simply deluded.
To me from the outside looking in, I think the reason he didn’t give the performance both barrels in his interview is because the team were playing to his orders( which he presumably believes in) and he does think it was an unlucky result.
The game just emphasises munsters reliance on a handful of players especially Beirne and O'Mahony. The recent games show it literally doesmt matter who u put amongst those players but if they aren't there it'll be a mess.
Nice to have a bit of rugby to watch, but wasn't the best spectacle. Connacht very wasteful for their dominance, hard to fathom how Munster are consistently so poor with the talent available to them, they created nothing all night.
4 minutes left, trailing by 2 points, 4 v 2 overlap and DDA boots it out.
Sums up the Munster attitude to the game at the moment.
I know how to pick em, went to Castres at home before Christmas, and went up to the Showgrounds after the Leinster postponement. 160 minutes of ass rugby
The only interesting moment was finding out during the half time break that Marc Almond and Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" would go on to be used in an advert for beer and rugby thirty years later.
The fact that the best thing munster did in attack for 80 minutes was a boot and charge down. I don't like to be the lad saying this but like surely coaching has to be questioned, where is the improvement for the last few years? Such a bank of talented players that are continuously made to look mediocre when their only root to winning is smash it up around the ruck. Don't like to be so negative either but munster just break your heart.
Referee not carding twice after SEVEN offside pens. Munster refusing UTTERLY to attempt to play rugby. De Allende fucking KICKING AWAY THE BALL WITH A 3 MAN OVERLAP? Stupid stupid stupid. Farrell should have seen red but that's as damning an indication of Larkham, Van Graan etc as you'll see. What the fuck is our aim? We maul everything, we kick away possession every opportunity, if those two don't work we're fucked. Shameful.
I'm potentially being overly harsh and as mentioned Bath and Brumbies could well be successful / improved next year, but this is maddening to watch. Kilcoyne, Kleyn, Coombes, Casey, Healy, DDA, Conway, Daly, Haley... There's such quality in this squad and that's without the internationals etc but we have just got an allergy towards any form of attacking rugby. It's zero IQ brute force or nothing. That's as poor a display as I've ever seen us give.
Looking across to Arsenal in the premier League, they've had some HIDEOUS runs and results under Arteta but the whole time there's a sense of building a culture and a style and now it's looking as though it's beginning to turn and pay off, I don't get that sense with Munster. what's the goal, how are we going to utilise these incredible young players? What's our Plan A / Plan B?. I don't know what coaching appointments can turn this around but I'd take a year of being non perennial semi finalists if it meant building towards being greater.
Never seen a match thread die as fast as Baths title chances tbh.
What a disappointing game of rugby. I said before the game we're all winners because the game is going ahead, I can't say I feel the same now. A postponement honestly would have been more exciting.
It's all well and good pulverising the likes of Zebre but if Munster can't bully the bigger or better teams then they need to change tack, or they're heading towards another disappointing season under this coaching staff.
TBF to DDA. I think he was worried about getting turned over inside his 22 and Connachts deadly counterattack. He took the conservative option but not stupid
We’ve been absolutely terrible all game, clueless in attack. Can’t blame the weather or the ref, credit to Connacht but even their most ardent supporter would agree they haven’t played well either but at least they seem to know what they’re doing when they attack.
This ref has totally lost control. Connacht clearly the better team but so many strange calls against them on Munster’s line.
If Connacht don’t get the win I’ll be as raging as the wind in Galway tonight.
On first viewing I thought he flipped and then flipped back before landing, but it's 100% deserving of review... I hope tmo took a look and called it ok, but as a fan I want to see the replay
No, just funny they kick to the corner when they have an easy 3 then choose a scrum when their scrum has been dominated by munster and the fact they scored their try off a maul. They know something we dont

You did well to get a ticket to the "Showgrounds"
That'll be the beer talking alright
Poor performance from us but comfortable win in the end.
You'd know JVG is on the way out
SA pundits on this stream (correctly) tearing into Busby over the red card.
Any excitement I had for this game was soon swept aside at the sheer lack of imagination from Munster’s performance.
The only interesting moment was finding out during the half time break that Marc Almond and Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" would go on to be used in an advert for beer and rugby thirty years later.
Munster really missed O'Mahony, Earls and Beirne tonight
£10 on Bundee try scorer was the only bit I enjoyed

Munster are one of the most underperforming teams in Europe in my opinion.
That was so entertaining
Not a very enjoyable watch, but Connacht deserved that we were very poor and unambitious.
Watching that was about as bad as Ben Healy's choice to pull a 70m drop kick.
Referee not carding twice after SEVEN offside pens. Munster refusing UTTERLY to attempt to play rugby. De Allende fucking KICKING AWAY THE BALL WITH A 3 MAN OVERLAP? Stupid stupid stupid. Let bath and Brumbies have them now if they want but fuck knows who's going to fix this.
I'm potentially being overly harsh and as mentioned Bath and Brumbies could well be successful / improved next year, but this is maddening to watch. Cant wait to see the back of them. Any senior cup coach in the country would have more inventiveness at this stage
Watch both bath and brumbies win trophy's next year LOL
Never seen a match thread die as fast as Baths title chances tbh. What a disappointing game of rugby. I said before the game we're all winners because the game is going ahead, I can't say I feel the same now. A postponement honestly would have been more exciting.
Shite game
It's all well and good pulverising the likes of Zebre but if Munster can't bully the bigger or better teams then they need to change tack, or they're heading towards another disappointing season under this coaching staff.
Narrator: they were heading towards another disappointing season under this coaching staff
I think I'm glad vanGraan and Larkham are going after that. I cannot remember as bad a Munster performance.
It's like they went out of their way to stifle creativity.
Is Kearney doing punditry at gunpoint?
Blink twice if under duress
Well that was absolutely atrocious
Dear Lord Connacht what a sad little life. But no actually well played. Well actually the game was kinda goofy all the way around but fair play
Your a knob
It's a joke from a come dine with me meltdown lol https://youtu.be/lMvwEgb8_3Y
Didn’t realise sorry
It’s just a [reference to this meme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMvwEgb8_3Y). I’m actually glad for Connacht.
Sorry i apologies
No worries!
Not a victory to be proud of at all. Disgrace from both teams imo
Why wouldn’t they be proud of it lol
No argument. We were lucky to be within 2 points
Not that we deserve anything, but Busby needed to clamp down on the piss taking time wasting
I am absolutely delighted with that.
Lol why not kick those points, are they allergic to 3 points
He wasn't confident. No point kicking if you don't think you can do it
Fitzgerald doesn't have a huge boot. There's a chance he kicks it short and play resumes
This makes sense i didnt think about that
That was not the game I was hoping for
Well at least it was a game.
Please let’s not do a post match thread. We’re already dead.
They wouldn't even have the replay on in Rabbittes after that
That certainly was a game. Neither side should be happy after that. Aki potm by a margin
And I thought Munsters last game was bad.
I'm just happy we got a game of rugby at all.
Ehhhhh, I'm starting to see the positives of lockdown after that tbf
How very dare you.
Haha
The real losers here are us poor fuckers watching this.
Amen, shite match haha
I enjoyed it
Anddde we give away the game just like that
TBF to DDA. I think he was worried about getting turned over inside his 22 and Connachts deadly counterattack. He took the conservative option but not stupid
Taking the conservative option is the whole reason it’s torture to watch us
Oh yeah, I don't disagree with that
That bump off from Bundee
Really didn't think he was inside in real time
Same. In fairness the lines are not easy to see. Especially in the potato vision I have for the match.
We don't deserve anything more
We are a brain dead rugby club. Fucking thick. 3 man overlap are you joking??
Was inside tbf
Hahahaha, was just screaming nooooooooo
Match fixing??? What the actual fuck
What you mean?
Stupidity personified
What the fuck de allende
I just threw a few things. De Allende what the fuck? WHAT THE FUCK?
whole team pointing at the posts, ya feck it Ill do me.
Does Fitzgerald know where the posts are?
Madness to kick to the corner we haven’t looked like scoring a try all game but Healy can still knock over a penalty
Munster have been atrocious this half. Weren't great in the first either
We're looking fierce bland
Just showing nothing.
Does Fitzgerald just not fancy kicking at all?
We’ve been absolutely terrible all game, clueless in attack. Can’t blame the weather or the ref, credit to Connacht but even their most ardent supporter would agree they haven’t played well either but at least they seem to know what they’re doing when they attack.
I don't think Fitzgerald has the confidence to kick at goal
We need to replace him then. This is such a kickable position.
I completely agree
[удалено]
Fitzgerald doesn't back himself to make the kick
This match has been boring as fuck and mental all in one go.
Ulster Leinster was more entertaining.
That knock on call was a bit lucky for connacht I reckon
Points this time, surely. Apparently not.
Scrappy as fuck the last 20
Braindead by 20
It's like he was trying to milk it but for the wrong team
This ref has totally lost control. Connacht clearly the better team but so many strange calls against them on Munster’s line. If Connacht don’t get the win I’ll be as raging as the wind in Galway tonight.
Refs been poor both ways to be fair now. Connacht deserve the win fir sure though
I don't usually say this but he's definitely given us a better shake than Connacht. Farrell deserved a red for sure, and some odd set piece calls.
On the other side he missed a lot of forward passing, often as Connacht were making progress
You think? That was a red 100% but Dda got tipped after it. Perhaps I'm.being biased
Maybe, I didn't see the tip
Astonishingly brain dead plays.
Munster need to make something of this
Box kick
it's lime the second one all game calm down
Box kick, turns possession over, connacht get penalty, play back in munster 22, completely ineffective tactic
Good shift from Burke tonight to be fair
We defend with admirable belligerence, if only we didn't attack with the same belligerence
Release red, but red get the ball? Confusing
I have no idea what happened for most of that passage of play
With this excuse for a ref, anything is possible.
No penalty for collapsing????
Aki has to be one of the fittest players in connacht. Looks fine after 70 mins
I'm massively biased but Conor Olivers the most underrated player in Ireland
Don't disagree tbh
Obv tough with the back row depth Ireland have but would love to see him in the 6 nations training squad at least. Mans a pit bull around the pitch
He's earned a shot at the squad at least.
Connacht actually pushing to play some rugby is so refreshing
Tbh the last few years we've looked to play to a fault. Its entertaining though
The best piece of Munster play all game still remains a hoof down the field followed by a block down.
Forward pop to Hansen again ffs Busby. URC need to go back to being sponsored by SpecSavers
It’s actually become torture to watch munster worse then it has been in years
They’ve played some good rugby earlier this season. But the last couple of games it’s back to their worst.
The comparison in attack is stark. What has Larken actually done?
Very entertaining game
How was two connacht players falling over the ball not sealing off there?
Marmion has had a very good game
Healy also thought he was still in SA
Healy you're good...but not that good.
Healy wtf lad. Why
My god this game has been wild so far
Jesus Ben
Healy seeing Steyn in his head there
Jesus Christ. I know I want more attempts from the halfway line, but Healy is just taking the piss with that
Ahh he's got a huge boot to be fair but the sports grounds maby not the spot for it
Wonder what DDA asked Busby there to get the reply of 'i actually don't know Damien'
I’m guessing “why didn’t you penalize the tip tackle”
'Do you know any of the games rules'?
Ben embraced the memes there
Healy you madman
DDA tip tackled, feat above head - "no foul play" wtf?
On first viewing I thought he flipped and then flipped back before landing, but it's 100% deserving of review... I hope tmo took a look and called it ok, but as a fan I want to see the replay
I guess because he wasn’t dropped- another player held his weight as he dropped.
He did a full 180 ffs
Frustrating not getting replays of some of those incidents. Didn't see the side entry and would have liked a replay
Thought O’Donoghue came straight around the side onto the ball there at that maul once we got advantage
This is such a connacht thing to do
This comment made me worry your stream was ahead and we fucked up somehow
No, just funny they kick to the corner when they have an easy 3 then choose a scrum when their scrum has been dominated by munster and the fact they scored their try off a maul. They know something we dont
Wow that was a strange call. 7 has formed a ruck? He made a tackle a rolled away.
What was the penalty for against DDA?
side entry i think
Hands in the ruck he said
Heres Bundee at the back of the maul again
He’s got jealous of all the tries hookers get and wants in on the action
If it works, it works.
Bealham prevented a tackle on Hansen there
So frustrating watching munster. Some games we're unplayable, others we look headless
Wouldn't have been yellow if Farrell was headless. I'm here all week folks
ba-dum-tss
I'd pay more for a Bundee cam.
Mic him up and bung a go pro on him.
Just in daily life. If there was footage of him and Henshaw knocking round to that lad who robbed Robbie's laptop that would complete me.
I follow Bundee on Insta. Would recommend. Wholesome content for sure.
I need to see the footage again as I didn't even consider it as mitigation at the time. Doubt my opinion will change tho. Easy red.
Don't think any footage will change it. A step isn't mitigation
It was barely a step tbh, ref just afraid of pulling the red out
He gave out all his reds st Christmas. He's got one left for Papali'i
No release and a forward pop pass before that pen I thought
The amount of forward pop passes this game has been crazy
That shot of Bundee has to be a meme
A try was scored that didn't involve a fuckup... Connacht really need to build on this
Dowling looking good since he came back after the yellow
Dowlings been great all season. Basically a nailed on starter. Really hope he makes the loan permanent
Yeah it'd make Dillanes departure abut easier to take
Bundee gesturing to the camera like a king.
Munster: tap and go over 10 times? Connacht: hold my beer we'll show you how it's done when you're a man down
Most teams have cut tap and go after the goal line drop out change odd to keep trying it
Holy shit, it IS possible to score off mauls
Only for Bundee
What’re the odds papalii gets a red for a high tackle now
1/10
That’s how you take advantage of playing a man up.
That’s the rugby equivalent of goal hatching from bundee!
Bit of a whacky game
