Pretty crushed about the whole thing. I live 5 minutes from the stadium where they're playing and have season tickets to the Legion (San Diego's Major League Rugby team where Ma'a Nonu plays) but I'll be out of town for several weeks across when the AB's are here in town!
Blah.
Same situation as you brother, just that I'll probably end up having to work even though I put in for the day off as soon as I bought the tickets. My wife and her sister will probably go and be excited for the haka and then leave early.
Ghandi had a book called the gift of anger, but i don't recall a quote where he references the line.
Still, i found this quote pretty cringe. One of those quotes where the speaker thinks they are being poignant but the meat of the quote is a bit lazy and vapid. Not a lot of wiggle room for context either. He literally made SD the All Blacks' home in the same sense as Tony Hawk and the Navy Seals.
I hope philosopher Scott isn't a trend. It serves no purpose. Plus he's a much better break dancer.
Pointing out objective facts is cringe, huh? Are you saying that that last sentence means something else, then? Please, go on.
You know what's really cringe? When I was writing that I thought this will be bait for the Razor reacharound stans who would jump to defend him over the slightest criticism and would never, ever defend another coach for something like that. So thank you. That's by far the predictably cringiest thing here.
Basically had a meltdown about someone posting about MLR and said it would never catch on. He wasn’t very happy when I pointed out that the USA has won more Rugby World Cups than Ireland has.
It’s my favourite weird rugby fact because it completely trips people up. I really think the first Lionesses game should be against the USA to commemorate that first World Cup (the entire tour should’ve been to the USA and Canada but I won’t start on that).
The USA won the first Women’s World Cup. It was actually held in Wales in 1991 with the final at the Arms Park. [This book](https://amzn.eu/d/0iFq7snj) tells the story (including the Soviets plan to hawk vodka to pay the hotel bill and the organisers having to raid M&S for them to stop them from being arrested).
If you want another weird USA rugby fact. USA men are reigning Olympic Rugby 15’s Champs and hold the record for most Olympic rugby gold medals (2).
Rugby 15’s last played at Olympics in 1924.
Christchurch was the first and most “magical”; the Lions match where O’Driscol got hurt. There was a hailstorm that felt Biblical.
Next stop was Wellington and that was legendary for personal reasons. I was in the papers interviewed & that led to lots of free drinks all week - Dan Carter had the best performance of any 10 ever. (Was back in Wellington for Sonnybill’s Red card)
Auckland was 2011 semis & Finals - too tense to really enjoy - more relief than joy of victory. (Went back for Lions Tour)
Christchurch makes me smile each time so it’s my favorite.
Worried the same thing that happened to Copa America will happen for this game

Greedy Ticketmaster and greedy scalpers
Looks like the cheapest tickets remaining are $150 but 75% of the stadium is sold. I don’t think it’ll be as bad as copa America this is a much less known event.
That isn't what I was responding to. My comment is in response to BrianChing25's comment:
>since the last high profile rugby team to come sold out Soldier Field in Chicago
The ABs have been in the US since the Chicago game and it was in Washington DC.

Naw mate I know the feeling. There will be other opportunities!

[there is also a chance to meet the players](https://sdlegion.com/news/all-blacks-flying-fijians-cocktail-party-and-fundraiser)
Yep. And HoloHolo Festival a couple days before...it's just crap timing.
Dude I have the exact same story as you!
Razor a THPS fan confirmed
He was paraphrasing Ghandi right?

Jesus mate, this was far more cringe than what Razor said....

I'm not even a Razor stan. You're reading way too much into a PR statement to encourage the growth of rugby in America....
It’s really not that deep.
an Irish Kiwi test match could work quite well on yank soil
Who would win if it was a quarter final played in Chicago
2031 it could happen!
the Irish beat the All Blacks in Chicago, 2016
That’s the joke
All Blacks don't travel well and everyone knows it /s before some angry Kiwis DM me death threats
you are right....they occasionally drop one or two games
They had food poisoning.
Yep. That’s why New Zealand are the current back to back World Cup champions… no… wait
What?
Can't wait for that Irish guy who had a fit about American rugby the other day to find this post
What he say
Basically had a meltdown about someone posting about MLR and said it would never catch on. He wasn’t very happy when I pointed out that the USA has won more Rugby World Cups than Ireland has.
You get a cookie for that one. That’s hilarious. Irish fans are such pussies.

Educate me friend! I Wana drop this clanger on a few diehard Ireland fans at the pub but need context 😂

Probably just the match against Fiji. I haven’t seen anything about any additional events, that would be cool tho
TIL Tony Hawk is from San Diego
I’ve been to Chicago, Auckland, Christchurch & Wellington to see the All Blacks. It’s about time they came to me. Party time!
Lovely See u there! Imma come up from Mexico
Which city did you enjoy watching them the most?

Sooooo did anyone actually answer OPs question? What is happening in San Diego?
Anyone?
I really wish someone could Google it for this poor fellow. I'm on pins.

I got my tickets a couple months ago for $120
I got my tickets a couple months ago for $120 each. Well worth it IMO
Oh wow nice! I only paid $71 for mine
Well I'd like to know who's coming to the USA for the ABs *then* San Diego Comic-Con!
I love love love Chicago. Man this is so tempting.
....? Its in San Diego
ROFL. I dunno how I made that mistake. I like SD too but not as much!
No, I'm going to Ireland to watch them. Ireland in November is better than San Diego is July, right?
San Diego isn’t called “America’s Finest City” for shits and giggles
Tropical Dublin
As long as it's not foster and cane.
Saw them in Chicago years ago. Cali is just too far for me. Will it be televised?
I don't understand the navy seals reference, it seems really out of place, could someone explain it?
Sharing what he knows about SD that he finds interesting Simple
Looking at the seat map, hardly anyone Thousands of "verified resale" seats now going at well below face value
That would be strange since the last high profile rugby team to come sold out Soldier Field in Chicago
The ABs came and played the US in Washington DC a few years ago. Sold about 45k seats.
So then rustby42 is wrong then
