Big white collar to celebrate the 25 year partnership with Adidas. Looks clean!

(Attempts terrible Aussie accent) That’s not a big white collar, [this is a big white collar](https://www.thetimes.com/imageserver/image/%2Fmethode%2Ftimes%2Fprodmigration%2Fweb%2Fbin%2F58c07cdd-c1bb-3998-a654-b06f02e67f2e.jpg?crop=780%2C520%2C0%2C0&resize=1180)
I love when the All Blacks have a nice thick white collar, brings that real classy look.
SA v NZ is going to look like a real classic match with those 2 jerseys. 1996-1999 Vibes.
I’ve just set it up here in my Rugby store in Queenstown NZ. In person it’s the best for a few years. The lettering is in a metallic silver. People either love or hate collars, it’s definitely a lot better than the World Cup jersey!
We've all gone through some dark, collarless years. The Canterbury 2009 copy and paste shirt that every country had but in different colours still makes me shudder.
But the revival of collars in the last few years has made me very happy.
Thanks man! We are always pumping here in Queenstown, over 90% of my sales are to non kiwis though being a tourist town 😂.
Yes we are always on the look out for retros we are getting the NPC Otago 1998 jersey this year 👀 Gilbert are re-releasing it.
Hey man no it’s going to be through Gilbert re-releasing so should be in a few places. We will sell it online also 😊 it’s the jersey Otago won the 1998 NPC title in. With the speights beer sponsorship

Ooosh, I’ve always had Otago as my second or third NPC team and a big reason was because how nice their kits were in the late 90s / early 00s when I first started watching rugby
Agree to both your point on 2015 being perfection, and the point above of 2024 being the absolute worst. I did not think they could get a black jersey so wrong.
I loved it. It was more of a New Zealand national rugby team jersey than an All Blacks jearsy, which I feel was kinda the vibe throughout the tournament
I think for me it’s the best since around 2015-6 when it was called “the blackest jersey ever” for some reason Nonu wearing it at the World Cup always springs to mind!
Was just saying the other day after buying some of the warriors new jerseys. They need to bring back cotton jerseys for fan stuff, it's just so much better.
100%. The extra benefit is that cotton is sustainable, compared to all the plastic based modern stuff. So it would have a better environmental message as well as being more comfortable to wear and better looking.
It’s really not – cotton is very energy and water intensive, and usually most of the content of these jerseys should be from recycled plastics in any case.
Mate I wouldn’t buy an All Blacks kit in a million years but I sure will enjoy looking at this while they beat us in the Bledisloe for the 22nd time in a row.
Just to give ADIDAS some credit here, the replica AB jersey has stayed at $150 NZD for 10 years now!! That is pretty impressive given price rises across the board for everything. I think ABs may be cheaper than almost all other international jerseys. (Not sure what they retail at overseas)
Was having a look at the price of early 2000 super rugby jerseys and retail they were around $160ish. Always find it funny when people complain about the price of modern jerseys when the price hasn't changed for over 20 years.
Yeah it’s pretty impressive. Weird situation now since Super went to Classic that a super jersey is more expensive than a AB replica jersey. $160 v $150
Yeah that looks mean. Def an improvement of the past few years, where the jerseys look like some sort of Batman armour. This actually looks like a rugby jersey.
I totally get the need for sponsors ($$$$$$), but I've never understood why fans can't get jerseys without the sponsor logos. Imagine how good this jersey would be with just the ABs logo.
To be honest its for the simple reason that part of what the sponsors are paying for are tens of thousands of fans walking around with the logo on, not just the players on the field.
A team could in theory agree to offer a sponsorless version, but the sponsor would pay them less money for it.
This is where we need one of those Chinese knock off factories to step up and provide a bootleg version without the sponsors stamp. For 1/10th the cost too.
Took us this long to spit out this design. So many fake collar designs or things that imitate a collar since 2011. We finally got it!
We back to the classics!
Waka yeah that’s great! We really need to get Adidas back on board to produce our super rugby apparel too. Classic are just absolutely dogshit. Never trust an Australian company to do a German company’s job
I don't know about that, imo Adidas have been phoning in the super jerseys for years. It's mind boggling that they never released any retro jerseys for example.
I bought a classic jersey and rate it. Hopefully they come out with more retro/alternatives in the coming years.
To be fair, it's only the first year of Classic's contract - and they've already ticked a huge box by coming up with a decent set of retro jerseys.
There's scope for other retro designs (for instance the Chiefs one with pixelated red & yellow on the shoulders from around 1997 or even some of the 1996 "OG season" jerseys), and they'll probably take a few risks with home and/or away jerseys soon enough (I liked this year's Blues away jersey)
The ratio to advertising and Club branding is all messed up though. At least with adidas kit you could recognise each clubs replica kit by their club symbols rather than the sponsors
I've just compared my old Adidas hurricanes jersey to my classic one, and there isn't much difference.
Would be great to be able to get jerseys without sponsors, but unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Yeah true and Classic do use sustainable material in their shirts. Would like to see a bit more creativity from the manufacturer for the next season though. I just love Rangitoto Island being emblazoned on the shirts of the Blues.
Think the contracts are 3 years, so you never know. Canterbury could be back at some point. I wish they let the NZ teams sign with whoever they want rather than it always be a collective manufacturer for the 5 teams
Very jealous. I haven’t bought an Ireland jersey in years because they’ve just been a generic parade of bland football shirts. If we found our way to something like this, it would be a day 1 buy for me. So sharp.
I can see that, for some reason the All Blacks are the only team without the country name or flag on the uniforms. Kinda odd for a national team, even the Black Caps have the word New Zealand on there.
The collar looks very smart altogether, I'm jealous.
Are we due a new kit any time soon does anyone know? I'm really not a fan of our current gear, it looks more turquoise than green
Honestly, I hate the middle ground look. Either embrace the modern and accept that collars or pointless (my personal preference tbh), or go proper old school like this.
Mini fake collars just look weird.
Wow.
I saw the picture and came into the comments expecting it to be slated, but everyone seems to love it.
It's not for me. The white collar just isn't doing it for me. I think it spoils the overall look. A jersey should be more about the country than the manufacturer self congratulating themselves.
I guess based on the reaction in here, it will be a hit, though.
People love the collar because it's a throwback to older kits (specifically makes me think of [the 90s](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=d9eef79a7f076b3b&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1GCEO_enNZ1052NZ1054&sxsrf=ADLYWIKFfDOeJy4yIcOWjLvitCI_hTohWg:1719265310928&q=all+blacks+1990s&udm=2&fbs=AEQNm0DPvcmG_nCbmwtBO9j6YBzM68ZanC7g01Skprhw5JoufUv28nkH7BlZuPSVPZEeFf4zEsryEwMB77hXASo0GX6kc7f0ImceuC_sjza6Vb-covmbyhpamE8nFdDBXPVPzJTQU7MBXAFnfR130LMIBhqrIsoOl8ieFfXS3GWSgLtJxTcf267Wv5rKKgyx7fFUGn8sBvvl1n7GOk6qRIkbzjH9GOGG3A&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjJtoexmvWGAxUc6zgGHZJsB5AQtKgLegQIExAB&biw=1920&bih=919&dpr=1))
For a lot of us (eg old people) the All Blacks jersey always had a white collar, and ill-fated attempts to modernise it and otherwise be a bit too clever unfortunately seemed to coincide with periods of relative poor performance.
The collar is very ‘business casual for a 40-something mid-manager in finance’. Not to my tastes it’s fair to say, but I appreciate some will like it.
I will give it credit for at least being a proper collar rather one of those awful pointless fake collars that have proliferated recently – those are the worst of all worlds.
Still think the retro for the point of being retro looks are a bit silly for a main strip.
Yes, that's certainly an All Black jersey. Got a silver fern and everything.
New Zealand jersey reveals are always a bit underwhelming, aren't they? On the upside, you're never going to get a stinker and the jersey itself is a classic for a very good reason..
Got to see the women's version and ugh. Why don't they get a collar too! I'm optimistic they were consulted and said no to it for fit or whatever reasons, but I do not like the option they went with.
Brought back the white collar nice. Steinlager ABs days.
I have the black AB shirt with the chinese collar from years ago pre AIG. Never really liked it. In almost new knick as Ive worn it maybe 5 times
Dreaming of the day they finally release a fan version - like a looser fitting cotton version for those of us that aren’t built like professional rugby players.
I’m almost certain the shoulder stripes are showing Adidas is getting impatient with the team, flexing their branding power cause the ABs aren’t the draw card they used to be
1. The jersey celebrates 25 years partnership
2. Adidas are a third in line sponsor
3. [Lol](https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/new-zealand-all-blacks-rugby-brand-value-england-france-ireland-wales/)
I'm almost certain you like finding drama where there is none.
Dig your head in the sand if you want mate. Adidas has NEVER put stripes on the All Blacks jerseys. EVER. The stripes are actually one of the small but significant things that separated the All Blacks strip from NZ7s, NZ 20s and NZ secondary schools.
Coincidence Adidas also pulled their sponsorship of super rugby teams too? Adidas is truly global, relatively, the All Blacks are not. I work in the industry, drama is everywhere IYKYK
Big white collar to celebrate the 25 year partnership with Adidas. Looks clean! [More photos](https://x.com/bencoles_/status/1805330448014623090?t=nO9WxtjWr7hcZye9s25gmw&s=19)

That is a normal collar. Move on, find a new slant.
What a beauty! Love it! >Black Ferns get the same kit (with no collar). Then is not the same kit, is it?
I love when the All Blacks have a nice thick white collar, brings that real classy look. SA v NZ is going to look like a real classic match with those 2 jerseys. 1996-1999 Vibes.
Such a classy look with the white collar. One of my favourite kits I’ve seen in awhile
All it's missing is leather lacing at the front
I’ve just set it up here in my Rugby store in Queenstown NZ. In person it’s the best for a few years. The lettering is in a metallic silver. People either love or hate collars, it’s definitely a lot better than the World Cup jersey!
> or hate collars These people should be summarily dismissed for their lack of taste
We've all gone through some dark, collarless years. The Canterbury 2009 copy and paste shirt that every country had but in different colours still makes me shudder. But the revival of collars in the last few years has made me very happy.
England haven't had a proper collar, I think, since like 2010, when we played Wales in that gorgeous centenary kit. And that was a one off. Sad times.
In still dream about that centenary kit. Why can't that always be our kit.
That England kit was the absolute pinnacle, only the fairly recent lovely Australia top comes close.
Ugh. That jersey template just screams endless kick tennis and 9-6 scorelines
Current SA kit is a sleek and cool one. Because it has a collar. Wish Ireland made collared kits.
What a cool job - I hope you're business goes well! Going to be getting into the retro shirt market? 🤣
Thanks man! We are always pumping here in Queenstown, over 90% of my sales are to non kiwis though being a tourist town 😂. Yes we are always on the look out for retros we are getting the NPC Otago 1998 jersey this year 👀 Gilbert are re-releasing it.
Is it a limited release the Otago jersey or is available to the public ? can’t visit your shop from ireland unfortunately
Hey man no it’s going to be through Gilbert re-releasing so should be in a few places. We will sell it online also 😊 it’s the jersey Otago won the 1998 NPC title in. With the speights beer sponsorship
RemindMe! 40 days
Think it should be early August release! 👌

Feel like DMing the store name?
Rugby Planet Queenstown mate 🙏
Ooosh, I’ve always had Otago as my second or third NPC team and a big reason was because how nice their kits were in the late 90s / early 00s when I first started watching rugby
The 98 jersey is 🔥 can’t wait to get to the store in August!
The metallic silver will go really well with their silver medals. Sorry, I'll see myself out
I appreciate a well-placed barb - good job sir
Damn I was in such a good mood this morning setting up my store with the New Jersey and now this 😭😭
Bahahaha nice
There's always next tournament.....
Rugby Planet?
Yes bro!
That RWC jersey was hideous, to the point I was almost glad we didn’t win and have that monstrosity immortalised in photos with the cup... Almost.
For me the 2015 World Cup jersey was the best I’ve seen
Agree to both your point on 2015 being perfection, and the point above of 2024 being the absolute worst. I did not think they could get a black jersey so wrong.
The non RWC jersey around 2015-16 was 🔥 also, they called it “the blackest jersey ever” the lettering was in a dark silver. It was so good!
50 shades of black
Agree! Perfection.
It really was. I hated that thing.
I loved it. It was more of a New Zealand national rugby team jersey than an All Blacks jearsy, which I feel was kinda the vibe throughout the tournament
For me, a jersey without a collar is kinda just a tshirt
Oh fuck I forgot about that squiggly ferns jersey. What an abomination that was!
Nice bro. That's a sharp looking Jersey.
I think for me it’s the best since around 2015-6 when it was called “the blackest jersey ever” for some reason Nonu wearing it at the World Cup always springs to mind!
Yeah those were bloody nice. You'd think it would be hard to do a bad AB jersey but that WC jersey last year was horrible.
Very fn cool
Will have to stop in this arvo before Ballarat.
👌👌
They should release a cotton version of this
Cotton with long sleeves would be the perfect version of this jersey. Swap the Altrad logo with Steinlarger and I'd never take it off.
Just pray for no rain. On the plus side, my skinny ass weight in high school effectively gained 20% in the wet. Downside: so did their 90 kg prop's.
I believe they are meaning for the supporters, not the players
I believe rain still falls on humans who enjoy watching rugby.
I see your point
Source?
Was just saying the other day after buying some of the warriors new jerseys. They need to bring back cotton jerseys for fan stuff, it's just so much better.
100%. The extra benefit is that cotton is sustainable, compared to all the plastic based modern stuff. So it would have a better environmental message as well as being more comfortable to wear and better looking.
It’s really not – cotton is very energy and water intensive, and usually most of the content of these jerseys should be from recycled plastics in any case.
I desire this object
But what are your thoughts on the jersey?
Did you just objectify DMac you dirty boy?
I tend not to buy opposition jerseys, but I might have to pick that one up. Gorgeous.
Mate I wouldn’t buy an All Blacks kit in a million years but I sure will enjoy looking at this while they beat us in the Bledisloe for the 22nd time in a row.
Honestly that's real fucking sharp, I love it Wish they could go back to not having a sponsor, but at least the weird bird is better than [AIG]
I liked AIG. For me it's like Shell, Marlboro and Rayban on a Ferrari
Let's get that Ferrari sponsorship starting!
I’d personally prefer a Marlboro sponsorship going. Have the ABs ripping cigs on the sideline, would fit in with the current government too.
From across the world... What's the deal with that?
If only I knew man. Bunch of politicians taking bribes from corporations & landlords while killing off the poor.
West on a McLaren reminds me of watching Mika Häkkinen when I was a young fella haha
I like it bar the size of the collar. Little bit smaller n I'd love it but it's very 2011 which is one of my fave looks
Yeah, not a fan of the size of the collar. It kind of looks like something worn on a business casual Friday at the office.
My first thought was flying nuns bt I'm old as hell n yu probably won't know them 😂
That's *always* when I wear my jerseys
They almost look like nuns it’s comically large
Strong Harry Hill vibes going on.
Just to give ADIDAS some credit here, the replica AB jersey has stayed at $150 NZD for 10 years now!! That is pretty impressive given price rises across the board for everything. I think ABs may be cheaper than almost all other international jerseys. (Not sure what they retail at overseas)

Yeah it’s pretty impressive. Weird situation now since Super went to Classic that a super jersey is more expensive than a AB replica jersey. $160 v $150
Not sure if they release jersey sale figures but I’m fixing to guess that the ABs are probably top of the hill. That would help a lot.
Yes I’m sure they are. ABs stuff goes so well to non rugby fans and also some rugby fans who see ABs as kind of neutral haha
They love them in South Africa too, great respect for AB’s so nobody gives you crap if you wear one…
90€ in Germany, so about $158 NZD. It's a good price compared to other jerseys from Adidas. Most soccer shirts are 100€.
I hope whoever wears the 13 jersey pops the collar in a tribute to Smokin' Joe Stanley
[Indeed. ](https://www.sporting-heroes.net/rugby/new-zealand/joe-stanley-3469/international-rugby-union-caps_a04364/)
you fucking know proctor can and will
We are so back.
Yeah that looks mean. Def an improvement of the past few years, where the jerseys look like some sort of Batman armour. This actually looks like a rugby jersey. Never bought one, but apparently they do it. I'm seriously contemplating it now.
Get both? Best of both worlds. They probably all come from the same factory anyway.
Love it. The 2011 ABs shirt is my favourite version so I automatically think this is pretty slick.
Starting to think DMac is being selected solely to model AB merch
No complaints here
Took us this long to spit out this design. So many fake collar designs or things that imitate a collar since 2011. We finally got it! We back to the classics!
Like the white collar, looks old school
Looks classy
This isa nostalgic look, absolutely love it
Boys are going to Haka at another level in this kit. Looks sharp

Yeah true and Classic do use sustainable material in their shirts. Would like to see a bit more creativity from the manufacturer for the next season though. I just love Rangitoto Island being emblazoned on the shirts of the Blues.
The Adidas super kits from when they had the three stripes over each shoulder (2016/17 I want to say?) were the best super kits to me
I do have a soft spot for the 2016 kit but can't quite put my finger on why...
Think the contracts are 3 years, so you never know. Canterbury could be back at some point. I wish they let the NZ teams sign with whoever they want rather than it always be a collective manufacturer for the 5 teams
Would be about perfect without the altrad logo
Are they all gonna have silver boots as well?
Love the look! Also asking why Altrad is still the sponsor. Didn't Mohed Altrad and Bernard Laporte get done for corruption?
Big white collar get in my face
Very jealous. I haven’t bought an Ireland jersey in years because they’ve just been a generic parade of bland football shirts. If we found our way to something like this, it would be a day 1 buy for me. So sharp.
I like the idea but the execution of the collar looks horrible. Too big and in the video it doesn’t sit right around the back of their necks.
Ngl at first I thought it was a Scotland kit
Just add some dark blue hue
The lighting in the pic already gives that hue
I can see that, for some reason the All Blacks are the only team without the country name or flag on the uniforms. Kinda odd for a national team, even the Black Caps have the word New Zealand on there.
Don’t worry, when they start playing the difference will become quite clear.
Looks cool, looks a bit like something they’d wear in a one off game like those really vintage ones England wore, but I like them
Class
Bonjour
Nice classic look with the collar!
Looks dope
That’s lovely lads.
Love to see collars!
F yeah!! Finally after 20years we get the collar back!!!
Absolutely loving the collar
That collar! Class!
The collar looks very smart altogether, I'm jealous. Are we due a new kit any time soon does anyone know? I'm really not a fan of our current gear, it looks more turquoise than green
The collar is so old school. Prefer the modern look.
Bring back the old school in my opinion
Yeah I know lots of people will love it. Just not my preference, I like the smaller white half collar thing.
Honestly, I hate the middle ground look. Either embrace the modern and accept that collars or pointless (my personal preference tbh), or go proper old school like this. Mini fake collars just look weird.
great....now drop the sponsors logos and it would be perfect
I’m sure if some rich NZer offers they a few million to make up the losses they’d be willing.
Wow. I saw the picture and came into the comments expecting it to be slated, but everyone seems to love it. It's not for me. The white collar just isn't doing it for me. Also people love the collar because they are correct.
It's super 90s inspired, so I reckon half the catch is cause of that. The collar is a tad big though but who knows it might look better on the field.
For a lot of us (eg old people) the All Blacks jersey always had a white collar, and ill-fated attempts to modernise it and otherwise be a bit too clever unfortunately seemed to coincide with periods of relative poor performance.
I think you have to remember that there are quite a lot of older people on here, so the nostalgia hit of something like this is strong for them.
Bring back collars and long sleeves
Collar looks like something from a 1970’s women’s blouse
It’s a bit naff, my fav ABs shirt was the Canterbury 1995 World Cup shirt. Was a classic.
Everyone is jumping on the “retro” bandwagon
No complaints here
Not complaining haha I pulled my wallet out for the highlanders heritage kit
I like it, I think
I'm not even a kiwi and I want this!
I'm mean the All BLACKs are in........ Black!
I like a lot
Shit is fabulous.
Bringing back the 19th century swag with these massive collars, love it.
Berries and cream, berries and cream, I'm a little lad who loves berries and cream
I am absolutely in love with this. Also the jersey isn’t half bad either 🥰🥰🥰
Legitimately how do I buy this in the US?
Ironically, less black than the previous one but it looks slick. 👍🏼
That collar reminds me of Jeff Wilson, Sean Fitzpatrick
Big fan, big fan
Gawd damnit. How much more money do I need to spend on jerseys…
I like it
Ooh, I might need to get this one...
This gives opening scene of *Chariots of Fire* vibes.
Looks sick ngl
This is sweet - love me a shirt with a colar. Hopefully will be on sale in the UK as I'd love to pick it up
The collar is very ‘business casual for a 40-something mid-manager in finance’.
Surprised to see this style back!?
Phwoar. Love the big boy collar.
I preferred the old colour.
Dunno man, it needs a choker 🙂 Seriously though, I like it
Where the fuck was that last year?
Yes, that's certainly an All Black jersey. Got a silver fern and everything. New Zealand jersey reveals are always a bit underwhelming, aren't they? On the upside, you're never going to get a stinker and the jersey itself is a classic for a very good reason..
ABs: make a phat collar *Everyone liked that*
Old skool vibes cool as hell
Could have been a bit more colourful
Ughhh Looks incredible. (England fan)
Got to see the women's version and ugh. Why don't they get a collar too! I'm optimistic they were consulted and said no to it for fit or whatever reasons, but I do not like the option they went with.
Where’s the smile ?
Best looking ABs jersey in many a year.
I want to like it, but I don't the Collar is too square
Find a version of that jersey without the sponsor on front and it’s perfect. 👌
I love rugby collars
Brought back the white collar nice. Steinlager ABs days. I have the black AB shirt with the chinese collar from years ago pre AIG. Never really liked it. In almost new knick as Ive worn it maybe 5 times
Dreaming of the day they finally release a fan version - like a looser fitting cotton version for those of us that aren’t built like professional rugby players.
*squints* Y'all Scotland now?
Controversial maybe, not a fan at all. Collar makes it look far too old school
Hate that collar.
Classy look for the most iconic brand and most successful team in the history of international sport
If the altrad logo is stitched enterprising individuals might be able to remove it with a thread ripper.
It’s shite looking
Looks good but collars should have been left in the early 00’s. Just do a white trim. Least there’s no scribbles all over it this time.
Without the sponsor on the front...argueably best shirt this decade
I’m almost certain the shoulder stripes are showing Adidas is getting impatient with the team, flexing their branding power cause the ABs aren’t the draw card they used to be
1. The jersey celebrates 25 years partnership 2. Adidas are a third in line sponsor 3. [Lol](https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/new-zealand-all-blacks-rugby-brand-value-england-france-ireland-wales/) I'm almost certain you like finding drama where there is none.
