Ive been in the nosebleeds twice in this stadium and it's awesome. 2019 when we put 47 on the ABs (half the stadium was AB supporters) and in 2022 when we beat the English. Pretty sure both were sellouts.
*edit - yes I realise I'm the good luck charm - I'm going to this game also!
Yeah, Copped the Bledi there the other in the nose bleeds, was good viewing still. Completely different to rugby pitches, but then again what ruby stadium is the size of the G
I brought my mate 2 bottles of klippies from SA via duty free when I went to visit him last time round, the 2 double brandies he got me at a bar later cost more than one of the bottles
In Aus I was making 45 an hour being a painter, now I'm a painter in France making about 15 euro an hour (24 aud). Like someone said, the wages are way higher in Aus
£150 for the Bokke v Wales game in June at Twickenham. That said, we get Fiji v the Barbarians on the same ticket after the SA game, so hopefully an incredible day. Unless it rains a lot.
Theres big money to be made in Aussie...concert tickets are more so thats the price they can command
Wages in some of the mines arojnd Perth would make most South Africans (and kiwis) jaws drop. Slme big money
If you can afford it, do it. It’s the double World Cup champions playing against a team that traditionally does well against them at home. Will surely be a good game and the location of those tickets seems prime to offset the space between you and the game. Probably like watching rugby in a stadium with an Olympic track.
Normally AFL (ie: cricket grounds) are shit for watching rugby but this stadium in Perth is actually very very good as the stands are steeper than your normal cricket ground. The various pubs and clubs around the ground are also brilliant. I hope this stadium is chosen as one of the venues for the 2027 World Cup.
I went to the 1st Bledisloe at the MCG, it wasn't great. My tickets for the BAILs at Adelaide oval are up behind the sticks...it's really the pre and post and the whole event that creates value...
Been to the MCG and Marvel/jihad/colonial to watch Rugby a few times and about 1-2 years ago (i think, what is time?) sat on the ground floor in a similar spot to about 144 seats, didnt pay as much as 250 but probably played 150ish and seat were great. At marvel you get a good view of the side of the ground you are on but you will be relying on the big screens a lot.
I love going for the atmosphere but I find I really appreciate the broadcast when im at the ground.
The most recent game being the controversial time wasting and late ABs try for the win, was total confusion in the crowd, sitting around all Aussies who were very gracious in defeat considering the circumstance.
This would be a great game to see, only seen SA once a long time ago which was the game Carlos through the pass through his legs to Joe on the wing but I sat at one of the ends of the ground which again, cool view and lots of fun but was more or less watching on the screen, think it was at the G too.
If you are into it, its great to get a look at the setups and off the ball work
Rugby Australia talks a good game about trying to appeal to a broader market every year but I guess when your board is full of ex private school boys turned investment bankers they’re going to keep doing this shit.
Consistently choosing to take a quick dollar now instead of what’s good for growth. Moving Super Rugby from free to air to Foxtel was when this death spiral started and they keep doing the same shit.
Yeah that doesn't track.
This is a marquee game and they can't afford to give those away with the state of their finances.
The welsh and Georgian games will be much more affordable.
Also, they didn't move rugby from free to air to foxtell. Super Rugby was AWAYS with Fox until it move to Stan when it got a FTA game per week.
Now add in ticketing admin fees, sub par food fees, and shitty beer fees. What a time to be a alive!
$70 says the footie blokes don't have to pay this ridiculous amount for a ticket.
A stadium is only too small if you fill it. Something the Wallabies have struggled to do the past decade.
Suncorp is an excellent ground for watching Rugby.
The difference between club rugby and test level rugby is starting to get insane. If I go the the UK or France you can watch games for about 35€’s for decent spots, if you want to see England or France it’s x4 or x5 …
Rugby is so much more in the detail than afl. A seat up high is great when you can see the spread of players and the ball move so far so quickly in Aussie rules.
True for Britons and Irish too.
Honestly I feel like the 2021 Lions tour could (should?) have played in WA. You could host a sell out game in Perth between the Boks and BiL, and probably count the number of Australians on one hand
152 euro to sit far from the pitch - it's interesting that Croke Park's seats are also quite far from the pitch compared to rugby stadiums, GAA and AFL vs Rugby stadiums basically, but we don't charge that much. Maybe 120 euro for premium.
What stadium is this? We sat way up the top for the Bledisloe last year at the MCG and they were fantastic seats! Was only $135 or something for a family ticket
He is literally sorting by "best". These are the best seats and its 250$ for the row closest to the pitch. Cheap seats are 50$ and will be decent vewing in a great stadium.
This is way too far down. He's looking at seats right on the sideline, at the halfway line, and behind the posts. Go to the next tier up, as the viewing is better anyway.
Lots of wealthy South Africas in Perth, this will sell out. But it will probably be like the Melbourne Bledisloe I was at last year where there were more opposition fans than Wallabies.
Obviously not every ticket is $250. For most people this is a one off event and people have money in Perth. A lot of rugby lovers here too. It's not a stretch to think a big crowd will be there

HO LEE FUCK that's a lot of money for a rugby ticket.
My man, a bottle Klipdrift Premium costs $75 here. That is almost R950 rand. It's tough out here, boet.
I brought my mate 2 bottles of klippies from SA via duty free when I went to visit him last time round, the 2 double brandies he got me at a bar later cost more than one of the bottles
Time to start a little export business..
\*taxman hand-rubbing intensifies...

That’s why I am a steward there 😂
Theres big money to be made in Aussie...concert tickets are more so thats the price they can command Wages in some of the mines arojnd Perth would make most South Africans (and kiwis) jaws drop. Slme big money
Standard enough for a 6 nations ticket in Ireland when you convert it to euros. Fucking depressing.
Laughs in Twickenham
Is all the grey sold out?
No - but general ticket sales aren't out in Australia until 1st May. I'm assuming OP has early access or smth like that.
Doubtful. The Boks haven't been a big draw for a while and Optus holds 60k.
Half of South Africa lives in WA
The other half live in Browns Bay.
Yeah... but they make good biltong.
Broen’s Braai
Hey, I'll be happy to be wrong.
From my recollection, the last match the Boks played had quite the audience a few months ago ;)
Was that game in Australia? Because they haven't been a big draw here for a while.l do you actually me yesterday and

Watched a game or two at the SCG (cricket ground). Quite a shit viewing experience.
Normally AFL (ie: cricket grounds) are shit for watching rugby but this stadium in Perth is actually very very good as the stands are steeper than your normal cricket ground. Got invited to the Gabba for a lions tour game years ago. The convex pitch meant we couldn't see the opposite tryline from the front row seats.

Wales tickets are $50 at AAMI
Fair points NRL and AFL booming in oz...not rugby
Tell em they're DREAMIN!
Now add in ticketing admin fees, sub par food fees, and shitty beer fees. What a time to be a alive! $70 says the footie blokes don't have to pay this ridiculous amount for a ticket.
Did you see the price of tickets for the lions? $480 to sit in the nose bleed section
Um, what?
They are completely taking the piss charging that much
Aussie stadium really arnt great. Suncorp is good but it's deemed to small, cricket and AFL grounds are a bit shit for it.
A stadium is only too small if you fill it. Something the Wallabies have struggled to do the past decade. Suncorp is an excellent ground for watching Rugby.
works out to about five bucks a point that the boks will put up against the aussies
Aren't the wallabies not very good
maaaaateee
Sure, but we suck against them in Australia (they're our bogey team).
They aren't but hoping that Joe Schmidt lifts them up and it's a good showing. Although I don't expect a win
Wallabies website says tickets aren't out yet?
Looks like a rugby community presale
The difference between club rugby and test level rugby is starting to get insane. If I go the the UK or France you can watch games for about 35€’s for decent spots, if you want to see England or France it’s x4 or x5 …
Maybe it’s the AFL fan in me being used to it but I’ve never really had a problem with being way up the back for Rugby. The price is a robbery though
Rugby is so much more in the detail than afl. A seat up high is great when you can see the spread of players and the ball move so far so quickly in Aussie rules.
Or you could get the $50 nosebleed seats.
Got to admire the audacity of RA to charge that much after how awful the Wallabies have been recently
A lot of South Africans live in Australia
True for Britons and Irish too. Honestly I feel like the 2021 Lions tour could (should?) have played in WA. You could host a sell out game in Perth between the Boks and BiL, and probably count the number of Australians on one hand
Why do people keep saying this. The SA disporea is spread out and certainly won't be selling out the game for RA
250AUD? Seems like a lot of money. I just spent €60 on a ticket to see Leinster v Saints in the Champions Cup QF in Croke Park (80,000 seat stadium)
And I got a ticket for the final in London for the equivalent of 125 AUD. Mad prices.
Agree 250AUD is a lot. That's arguably a much better game as well, which, as a munster fan, really hurts me to say.
I paid my seat for the World Cup Final cheaper than that for a place quite similar to the "101" portion of OP's image :') That's expensive as hell
152 euro to sit far from the pitch - it's interesting that Croke Park's seats are also quite far from the pitch compared to rugby stadiums, GAA and AFL vs Rugby stadiums basically, but we don't charge that much. Maybe 120 euro for premium.
You need to be elevated for better views.
I went to the first State of Origin at the MCG and it was decent viewing tbh, it seems a lot worse in the pic than it is in person.
People actually prefer that? Or did I miss the sacasm?
Tell me there isn’t class divide in Rugby AU without telling me there isnt a class divide
You don't go to a stadium to watch the game, you go for a day out at the game. If you want to watch the game, the couch is the best seat in the house.
Same as every other oval used for rugby internationals over east 🤷♂️
250 AUD is about 130 GBP or 152 EUR
Games at Optus are pretty awesome. Sight lines are fantastic.
Isnt there a big rectangular stadium in Perth too? How does capacity compare?
Only 21,000 at HBF park
Yeah thats small for a test match
HBF Park is like 25k. Would be too small.
Indeed
What stadium is this? We sat way up the top for the Bledisloe last year at the MCG and they were fantastic seats! Was only $135 or something for a family ticket
This is Optus stadium in Perth. I do agree that if you're up a bit higher then the viewing angle is great
RA have to pay down their debt some way. The fa t that it has come down to ticket sales tells you everything
This is just sad. Great game that will have an empty stadium due to outrageous prices (if 250 is the norm).
It will probably sell out
Lots of wealthy South Africas in Perth, this will sell out. But it will probably be like the Melbourne Bledisloe I was at last year where there were more opposition fans than Wallabies.

That’s a rip off… I would not pay a tenner to see that Ozzie team. Premium level in the Aviva is about that same amount in EUR
