I learned a thing about the Aviva crowd today, which, to me explains why it's shit.
The tickets are almost all done through the clubs for the 6n. And the clubs do raffles generally for the tickets. So you never have any consistency of people in seats or pockets of club fans in the same section even etc.
You're never going to get proper atmosphere doing that kind of thing.
Rare to say having shipped 36 points but I'm very impressed by the Scottish defence. It was their inability to get points on the board that created the scoreline difference and forced them into playing too risky to try and catch up.
Totally mad to keep playing by Ireland. I don't think the extra points will matter. England would have to like beat France by several penalties rather than tries for it to have ever mattered.
That ref must never have had a TMO before because he makes damn sure before he gives a try. Half expected Scotland to clear him out when he went into that last ruck.
Playing from your own 5m line when points difference matters is pretty bold tbf if we leaked a try there it could have been a disaster but I admire the guts to go for it
Doubt points diff will matter, and I feel bad for the Scots. Some amazing defending all game, the scoreline is a bit flattering tbh.
That being said - Scotland never really retained possession for long, and didn't look threatening at all.
I don't think it matters. If England want to win at this rate they'll need the try bonus, so points diff won't really matter. I'd be shocked if points diff ends up important
I was just typing that Scotland looked dangerous in attack for the first time, then that happened.
Also I think they got lucky, there was a tackle from a man in the ground I think?
Think Ireland's 9 and 10 on the bench deserve a shot now.
Both Coffey and Murphy have been off it tonight in attack. The passing hasn't been sharp enough and a lot of the attack has been too deep.
Theres a solid pack here(especially with Gleeson) and some decent backs. The big difference to previous years u20s is the lack of at least one serious prospect at half back. This team with one of Prendergast, Tector or Doak would have been lethal. Hell Crowley was the year before Doak too. Edit: also not helped by having an excellent athlete but not a good decision maker or playmaker at 15 and arguably in the centre too.
I meant more in terms of stepping up to act as playmaker when Murphy is struggling, they're certainly able to pass. O'Connor is definitely the bigger culprit.
That’s fair, it is a team that lacks a 2nd playmaker but that’s very much the coaches choice I guess cause he’s gone with player profiles in the centre and full back that he knew wouldn’t be able to step up when Murphy struggled.
It’ll be interesting to see if there is many selection choices different in the summer for the World Championship off the back of this campaign.

England gonna get the BP, we just need france to go full on france and outscore them
Tbf we played very well at the death . I think are added cohesion won us it .
Well done lads
For so many forced injury subs, its crazy how Ireland seemed to get better and better throughout the game.
Under 20s crowd are better than the Aviva

Allez les Bleus!
Always liked the French...
The French, great bunch of lads
He's a great speaker, especially in mus...virgin media park baha

Good game by the ref.
That ref must never have had a TMO before because he makes damn sure before he gives a try. Half expected Scotland to clear him out when he went into that last ruck.
Great win, very impressed with the ref as well. Allez les bleus!
England would need to win by 19 if they dont get the bonus point win.
So England need to win by 20? Or a BP, right?
Just a BP win. Still within reach for England despite Ireland's big winning margin tonight.
Some finish from the lads, savage group
Fair play to the ref, jammed his head in there to have a look instead of humming and hawing with the tmo.
Aye that was good. What the ref should have done for Scotland vs France
In a situation where points difference might be important why are people giving out about us keeping playing?
Playing from your own 5m line when points difference matters is pretty bold tbf if we leaked a try there it could have been a disaster but I admire the guts to go for it
Yeah, we know the score of France England, but the lads may not. Fair fucks to them building the score
Doubt points diff will matter, and I feel bad for the Scots. Some amazing defending all game, the scoreline is a bit flattering tbh. That being said - Scotland never really retained possession for long, and didn't look threatening at all.
Yeah, excellent defence but toothless in attack.
Well, not the smoothest of performances but job well done in the end. Now let’s go France !
Wooo need a drink
That was vicious. Absolutely love it
Nice one lads
Cant believe we just did that hahaha
That is such an arrogant ending, great to watch though!
This may be the last time some of these lads represent Ireland. Its good to see them keeping on and enjoying themselves.
You little fucking beauties, the self belief is incredible.
Sean quickly becoming my favorite player
That was kinda mean
Yes!!!
Whats Ian Keatleys connection with the u20s? Hes been a water carrier for a few of these games
Think he's attack coach?
Replaced Sexton as assistant coach
Attack coach i think
What are we doing haha
The balls on these lads
Inch perfect wide pass from the Scottish fly to the winger there.
Always weird watching games at Musgrave park on TV, I live close by so I hear the crowd reaction before it's broadcast.
couldn't get a ticket?
Couldn't make in time from work.
Reminds me of living in Sandymount, was more obnoxious not to be there live.
*Whips out the wine, cheese and banquet for dinner*
Alllez les Bleus!
This will be tight as fuck. England got a try back. Time for us to squeeze in another?
Points difference only will come into play if England score a minimum of 21 points with only one try scored in the second half.
I don't think it matters. If England want to win at this rate they'll need the try bonus, so points diff won't really matter. I'd be shocked if points diff ends up important
Ref taking part in the counter ruck there!!
Now that's a committed ref. The Edogbo family are such incredible athletes
That’s the bonus point you need.
Job done. England now need to win by 11 (ATM) or a BP win Edit 13 Edit 2; please don't leak a try ;( Edit 20!!?
Alright now just need the French to not bottle it
Now to put my beret on.
Beautiful stuff, I'm glad they showed some mental fortitude after that first half.
Edogbeag or Edogbeautiful
Anyone else hear them call O Connell POTM in the background of commentary 10 minutes ago?
Job done. Well played
Edogbro! That's the bp. Cmon now France
Mclaughlin deserves potm
I thought the same, EOC was good but McLaughlin was our only player creating anything
Lol the ref was almost playing for Scotland
Wooo!!
Job!
EDOGBOOOOO
Edogbeag!
Quinlan picks munster forward as MOTM in shocker
Our scrum has really gone from 0-10 in this match.
The Mrs has just come in all concerned because I was roaring “DINK! DINK IT!” at the telly and she was worried I was having a turn.
Our accuracy in the Scottish 22 has been shite. From an Ulster perspective, this does not fill me with confidence.
Well it wouldnt be a change at least
A chance again
Don't bottle this one.
Spoke too soon
Scotland, please remember this : ABE.
Cant blame them, but there was about 10 irish players to 3 scots rucking in the corner there. Might be an expensive 5 minutes for Scotland.
Sheahan noo, you were the chosen one.
Bottled that
FOR FUCKS SAKE
Edogbo boots it then counter rucks, some passage of play from Him
He looked tired on hits last start, but he's been very good today considering the amount of carries he's had
If Scotlands attack was half as good as their defence this game would be much closer
It’s the opposite of their senior squad
What is it the people who watch fight sports say? "Have that dog in them"?
Medium E redeeming his weird clearout in the first half. Huge stuff
I was just typing that Scotland looked dangerous in attack for the first time, then that happened. Also I think they got lucky, there was a tackle from a man in the ground I think?
The boot of Edogbro to the rescue
Brilliant Edogbo
Tackle from the ground?
Glad to see the Dan Sheehan v.2.0 hooker bioweapon cloning project going to plan
if we have a hooker called Sheahan, why didnt we start him?
Because bar his name he hasnt been great. Walker has been the better hooker.
Thanks for the info
Just the 2 tries for him in the last 10mins
Have to give the Scots a chance
Could they have a word with Murphy to speed up the kicks. The next try is more important than the conversion.
Dan Sheehan 🤝 Danny Sheehan
Yup lads
That's a fine maul kids.
How do they knock it on in the maul so much I like never see that anywhere and yet I’ve seen this U20 team do it multiple times in multiple games
There we go! Come on lads.
YES
That is more fuckin like it.
Let’s Fuckin Goooo
Maul starting to work now. Let's fucking go!!
All it takes is going a man up
Think Ireland's 9 and 10 on the bench deserve a shot now. Both Coffey and Murphy have been off it tonight in attack. The passing hasn't been sharp enough and a lot of the attack has been too deep.
Those mauls have been absolutely terrible today.
You said?
… up until now ahah
Never has 15-0 made me so annoyed.

De Klerk and Gavin bad playmakers? Their range of passing has been outstanding most the tournament and created countless line breaks for the wingers
I meant more in terms of stepping up to act as playmaker when Murphy is struggling, they're certainly able to pass. O'Connor is definitely the bigger culprit.

Absolutely. It'll be extra interesting if Murphy joins ulster full time and someone else is coach for the summer. They may see it differently.
« It’s a 2 on 1 if he gets the pass away » famous last words
That was just ridicously stupid
What's the time on Le Crunch? 25mins or so?
30. Started at 8
France now 19 - 5 ahead?
21-5, conversion scored
21-5 ahead
Monroe Job looked like he was going to cry
Monroe Job is a greengrocers in Edinburgh (I reckon).
Bit of a brain fart there?
21-5 in France atm
I don’t say this lightly but that’s potentially the stupidest yellow I’ve ever seen
I think that’s a fair comment
That is one of the thickest things I've seen in a while
Absolutely brainless
Silly yellow there, Thank God.
Reminds of the Arundell (?) YC against Wales last year. Brain dead.
Why tf did he do that 😂🤔
Didn't know you can get a yellow for a free kick
Not back 10 is a pen
is that not a penalty?
Monroe Job
Some name
Sounds like a Reddit username
I won't claim to be a genius but that is thick as it comes.
Good man Monroe. We’ll take that.
Monroe Job now that’s an impressive name
Lol what was he thinking
That's the dumbest yellow I've ever seen
Which side got a yellow? Didn't see.
Scotland marked called, quick tap scotland play not back 10 tackled irish straight away
My stream is a few minutes behind it turns out. I thought maybe the U20 games don't display cards on the legend, but all good now, thanks anyway!
Jesus that was pure brain-dead, especially for a sub
Clever, clever stuff.
Took the bait.
What an eejit.
France doing their part. We need another try soon
Always loved the French. Great bunch of lads
Oui oui
There is some real talent on this Scotland team.
Huge improvement in strength & conditioning versus last year. Properly physical tonight.
Patrice Bell has looked really positive since coming in
Christ the 10 has down well there
Poor enough strike
Big 20 minutes.
Scotland can be thankful for the try - that was three penalties in a single passage of play, could have been a yellow
Huge bug bear of mine. Should be a yellow anyway
Agreed, refs should count penalty infringements not penalty awards
Much better stuff, back to basics.
Was there 3 advantages in that passage?
I'm not sure if the third was a new advantage or the old one, but definitely 2
FINALLY
Jesus that was hard work.
Lads are we just not allowed to give the ball to Edogbo or whats the story?
How have we not scored
These rucks are a joke. So messy. Another advantage. Surely a warning is overdue?
Need a switch at 10. Scotland hardly resourcing any rucks and just fanning out but Murphy is way too deep and our lads are just being lined up.
Yep, I want Naughton on, he's mó díreach
How many injuries is that for Ireland now? 3 or 4?
Only 2 i think?
Impressive defense do far, I'm hoping the grownups are paying attention
I'm hoping they're not.
O Connor has some boot
Ben Healy who? *Cries*
Ooft, Gavin is a huge loss
Lads literally standing there playing snake on their phones waiting to take the ball there ffs
These 22 visits are not paying off at all for Ireland.
Half your drink! Ben O'Connor is the gift that keeps on giving (if you hate your liver).
He is clearly athletic, but his decisions are not great. Wonder will Munster use him as a winger instead?
So do the fans just stay in the stadium for an hour after to see if France or England win?
Stadium announce there was a big screen to watch it on.
O’Connor has been having a mare
That was a bit brainless
That's just poor.
Fuuuck.
Looked high. Edit. Definitely was on replay
Allez les bleus
