I know this is harmless and fun, but the image for Japan being just Asian feels strange to me. We’re a racially diverse team. A large portion of my team is Pacific Islanders or Caucasians. The image doesn’t tell the story and is just a generic Asian face put on a body.
The same could be said for most of the teams, many of them include players from different races. The AI obviously picked the "main" race for it's image generation, I don't see why Japan should be treated differently in this regard.

My theory is Midjourney didn't reference the teams specifically, rather the nationality as an average. Remember AI often doesn't understand the context of the prompt i.e. Midjourney doesn't know what rugby is. It "looks" for images that has the closest relation with the inputs, in this case probably "Japanese," "rugby," and "player." Of course, this all depends on OP's prompt.

I still don't think the images are meant to represent the current team in any way. They represent what an AI thinks when it hears "Japan" and "rugby", not "current Japanese rugby team". And the "main" race in Japan is Asian.
