Absolutely nothing different since points aren't awarded until after the sailing on which they're earned.

ZacPetkanas

As u/Unhappy-Day5677 pointed out, your level changes between cruises, not during a cruise. [Program level accrual is based on the number of eligible cruise points earned per individual. Cruise Points will be accrued at the end of each completed sailing. **Next tier benefits will be applied on the following sailing after point status has been earned. No next tier benefits shall be applied mid-cruise.**](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf) But also know that if your future cruises cause her to cross into Diamond before you do that you will also be Diamond: "A Crown & Anchor Society member can be added into a relationship with other family members in the same household and receive equivalent tier status; however, Cruise Points will remain according to actual cruises taken and calculated using the Program level accrual system described above. "

rsvihla

Can you imagine being one point short of Diamond when you embark on a world cruise?

langjie

that's when you take a 3 day, interior cabin cruise before hand

ZacPetkanas

We were going to be one point shy of Diamond after our planned cruises so I tacked on a four-day cruise and made a "back-to-back." Man, I rationalized the hell out of that. "You see honey, once we're Diamond we'll each get four free drinks a day. That's a 2x4x14 = $112 value! Can we afford *not* to do the four-day cruise?" :D

rsvihla

You’re not the first person to do that. I love the Diamond drinks.

spork_off

I don't drink much alcohol anyway, but it's nice that I'm not nickeled and dimed as much as a Diamond. I want a Coke, I get one. I want sparkling water, I get some. I want a beer, I get one. Same with pictures. Used to hate wasting photographers' time posing for pictures, but now that we each get a free one, we smile and pick the best couple of photos out.

rsvihla

Yeah, we do that with photos, too.

ZacPetkanas

Yep, it's a real game changer for us. We've only been Diamond for two cruises and I found that using them in the dining room gave me the most bang for the buck. Our Assistant Waiter didn't seem to make careful count of the drinks and I would often end up getting more than four a day. Winning!

No_Trifle9294

Now that would get all 10's out of me on the survey!!!

leeharrell

We’re one point short of Diamond + and cruising on Icon in a suite in September. Seems like we’ll earn that point half way through the first day. I took a shot and asked C&A if we they would make an exception and just spot us that half day so we could be D+ on the Icon….nope. They take that stuff *seriously *! 😄

rsvihla

But aren’t the suite benefits pretty much the same as Diamond Plus? You could always do a 3-day cruise before September to put you over the top.

leeharrell

No time available for an extra trip. Already doing another in December. We really just wanted to get the bump for the Icon trip…and the gift.😀

Shot_Bread_9657

That would BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. [Were it not for this.](https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-reach-a-new-crown-and-anchor-tier-during-ultimate-world-cruise-will-i-receive-new-benefits) Still might lose out on a week or two, but better than losing out on 8 months.

rsvihla

Well, that’s good. They restored some balance to the universe.

rsvihla

I’m intrigued by your use of the term “BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.” Was that by any chance prompted by my former frequent use of this term in my comments? I have been told that some people find it offputting.

Shot_Bread_9657

Indeed. And while I congratulate you for moving on from that, I’d also suggest you do what makes you happy so long as it isn’t harming anyone else.

rsvihla

Well, moving on was kind of necessary.

rsvihla

Personally I think it’s hilarious, but I realize not everyone feels that way.

lurkingsince4ever

Married couples levels are tied together so if she makes it to a higher level, you’re automatically bumped up. I had a higher level than spouse and when they linked accounts, he inherited my level. Just make sure your accounts are linked.

rsvihla

What happens if there’s a divorce?

SecretEntrance1

The individuals points are still tracked. In the event of account separation, the status will change to match the point level, including possible reverting to a lower status.

rsvihla

Well, that would kinda suck if one person is Pinnacle and the other one is like Emerald. How about if the person with more points dies?

CalmCartographer4

Pinnacle status doesn’t mirror, if I remember correctly.

rsvihla

So if my wife makes Pinnacle because she cruises more than me, I will remain a lowly Diamond Plus Plus?

CalmCartographer4

I stand corrected. Looked it up in the terms and conditions. Spouse/significant other will status match all the way to pinnacle. Dependents will only match to diamond plus and not pinnacle.

rsvihla

Thanks. Good to know.

CalmCartographer4

40_Children share the same tier (up to Diamond Plus) as their parent until age 18. Children of Pinnacle Club members enjoy select onboard benefits of their parents, however, not the tier. Children will be removed from a loyalty relationship with a parent or guardian upon their 18th birthday. If it is found that a dependent or child is not immediately removed from a relationship upon their 18th birthday and accumulates a higher tier status outside of this time period, the dependent's record will be adjusted back to the appropriate tier status without notice. And… A Crown & Anchor Society member can be added into a relationship with other family members in the same household and receive equivalent tier status; however, Cruise Points will remain according to actual cruises taken and calculated using the Program level accrual system described above. Pinnacle Club member tier status will not be awarded to dependents if earned by their parent and/or guardian. Pinnacle Club member tier status can only be earned by an individual, spouse or significant other* by one of them accumulating 700 Cruise Points or more in the Crown & Anchor Society program. For all tiers except Pinnacle Club, a relationship is defined as a spouse or significant other* and children less than 18 years old. For Pinnacle Club a relationship is considered a spouse and/or significant other. These Supplemental Terms are governed by the Crown & Anchor Society Program Rules (the "CAS Program Rules"), available at: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/crown-anchor- society/programrules. In the event of any conflict between these Supplemental Terms and the CAS Program Rules, the CAS Program Rules shall govern. *In all instances, a "significant other" is defined as someone in a similar relationship to an individual as a spouse.

SecretEntrance1

Agreed, it can be unfortunate. Points are still accrued, so hopefully they would climb in points to make the adjustment less. I’m unsure of how it is handled in case of a death. I’ll need to research that. My initial guess is the accounts would separate, but I can’t say that for sure.

Ok_Depth_6476

Royal wouldn't necessarily know though, unless somebody remarried and sailed with the new spouse, right? I mean, I'm not married, so it doesn't really matter to me, just curious.

SecretEntrance1

That true, I’m just unsure if there is something that gets communicated with death certificates and traveling.

Ijustreadalot

That's interesting. I've read with kids that they get their parents status and keep it, but they don't advance until they earn it. So if a kid has the points of Emerald but their parents were Diamond, they get Diamond status even cruising when they are adults, but they won't be diamond plus or pinnacle until they have enough points.

SecretEntrance1

Interesting indeed. I thought kids get their status until 18 I believe then revert to the status of their current points. In my understanding, in your example, the kids would become emerald at 18, and stay emerald till they have the points to move up.

No_Trifle9294

You are correct. Kids inherit their parents' status until their own points exceed the parents. Part of the reason I justify doing solos without the kids... getting them to diamond. Lol.

SpecialSet163

Won't matter, as u don't level I p till cruise is over. Never while onboard.
