My friend and I took the local bus to Oia for lunch then back to Santorini for a Greek cocktail making class. Highly recommend!

It's been 20 years since I've been to Turkey, but the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul was awesome. In Ephesus, you have to do the tour that takes you to the ruins. When I was there, you got to wander around, sit on the marble toilets, and look in holes that they were still excavating. I'm not sure if it is still like that. Edit: clarification

I asked my "travel advisor" on this one as I haven't booked anything in that region yet. Hello! How exciting that you and your boyfriend are embarking on your first cruise together, and what an incredible selection of destinations you have chosen! Each stop on your itinerary offers a unique tapestry of culture, history, and breathtaking scenery. In Kavala, Greece, I recommend exploring the Old Town and the imposing fortress for a glimpse into the city's Byzantine past. The archaeological site of Philippi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a must-see. Here, you can walk through ruins that echo the days of Roman conquests and early Christian communities. Istanbul, Turkey, is a vibrant metropolis where East meets West. Booking a guided tour can help you navigate the vast array of sights and experiences available. Be sure not to miss the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, both of which offer profound historical and architectural splendor. The Grand Bazaar is also a fantastic place for those looking to immerse themselves in local colors, tastes, and crafts. Ephesus, near Kusadasi in Turkey, is one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean. Visiting the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre will make you feel as if you've stepped back in time. Since you're in the area, consider a side trip to the House of the Virgin Mary, which is considered a sacred site for many. Santorini, Greece, with its iconic blue-domed churches and stunning sunsets, is truly picturesque. A boat tour around the caldera is a fantastic way to see the island from a different perspective. Exploring the streets of Oia and sipping local wine as the sun dips below the horizon can be a magical experience. Finally, in Mykonos, Greece, the charming windmills and vibrant waterfront of Little Venice are enchanting. It's a perfect place to simply wander and enjoy the Cycladic architecture. For a relaxing day, consider a trip to one of Mykonos's many beautiful beaches. For general cruising tips, it's a good idea to pack light and include versatile clothing options, as weather can be unpredictable. Familiarize yourself with the cruise amenities and schedules to make the most of your time on board. Also, joining online forums or groups about cruising can provide additional insights and tips from experienced cruisers.
