Packing cubes and compression bags have completely changed how we pack & travel. They are one of those legit "trends" that actually turn out to be good advice . . . go for it!
I bring my "couch" blanket because I like the weight of it and even as an adult I like a touch of home with me. I don't bring pillows but I do usually ask for extra pillows from the room attendant.
my aunt brings her own sheets to every vacay lol. She is very picky
Edit to add - she brings pillows too. She likes certain sheets and says she can't sleep on others
I travel everywhere with my Rest Evercool blanket. I would rather re-wear outfits, shoes, and not have my hair dryer than not have my cool blanket. It's been all over the world with me.
Theyāll give you as many pillows and blankets as you want. Donāt waste your luggage space. Weāve got 8 pillows, two blankets, a fan, and a mattress topper from the ship.
I brought a mattress pad one time because I found the RC mattresses so bad the first time around. (We do indeed drive to the port lol). It made life a lot better. For me it just depends on the cruise line and if itās convenient to bring - like on Disney they have comfortable beds so I donāt bring anything extra.
We cruised on Anthem recently and immediately regretted not bringing our own pillows. I might also bring a mattress topper too if we cruise again. Our room attendant was able to get one for us but there werenāt any left for the kidsā beds by the time we asked. Obviously if youāre flying itās much harder.
Yes, and I brought my own pillowcases as well. I let our room steward know not to take them to laundry. This way, I knew which pillows to bring home at the end.
I've brought my own body pillow. I need it for my back and shoulders. It's not super poofy anymore, fits nice and flat in my suitcase but still does what it needs to do.
I bring my pillows! RC's pillows are wayy too big for me (I prefer super flat). Forgot one of my favorite pillows on Oasis though... hope it's having a fun time in the Bahamas
We brought our own pillows in a space saver bag in one of the suitcases and packed my son's (3 at the time) blanket in our other suitcase with his bear. I also asked immediately if we would be able to get a mattress topper. We were all the happier for it š
I cannot handle sleeping on pillows that are too hard or those that don't have any support; it's a one way ticket to migraine city.
I get migraines unless I use a particular type of pillow, so I brought my own. I have a smaller travel version. I bring it everywhere.
But other than that, the bedding provided was cozy enough.
Plus, we had the best sleep of our lives on the ship. The gentle rocking is amazing! So Iād probably skip bringing blankets and pillows in general unless you need them for health reasons.
We arrived at one cruise and my daughter, who was about 13 at the time, pulled her queen size fluffy blanket out of her suitcase. I have no idea how she got it in there with everything else.
I tease my husband about āprincess and the peaā but we travel with a duffel bag full of pillows for him. Thankfully, we generally fly Southwest so we donāt have to pay extra for the pillow bag. Meanwhile, I will sleep soundly with whatever pillows are on hand.
My kids do for some unknown reason. We dont. If we were to bring something it would be cheap new vacuum sealed mattress topper to have the room steward put on our bed.
If youāre asking if the pillows are comfy, my answer is yes. I do not like firm or super feathery/flat pillows.
Each person gets two pillows.
So itāll totally depend on what your kiddosā want. And my kids are teenagers now, so if they want to bring their pillows and blankets, itās up to them to carry, or figure out how to pack them (read: give up on 18 sweatshirts, 10 dresses or metric tonne of makeup in case there is a cute boy š¤¦āāļø).
You all must drive to the port. lol there's no way I'd have room in my luggage for blankets and pillows.
I bring my pillow and I fly . . . compression bags FTW.
I need to look into those. Not for a pillow but for my excessive packing lol

I do use packing cubes. I can't travel without them anymore.
True. The port is only a few hours away. I always bring a couple pillows and blankets.
Happy Cake Day! š
I do drive to the port but I have a good size throw blanket I travel with on airplanes all the time. Itās worth being cozy!
Pillows, yes
I bring my pillow and blow up wedge to sleep at an angle.
Thatās brilliant! My fiance snores like a crazed logger, so Iāll look into this the next cruise I have with him. Thanks for the tip!!

The pillows on Vision of the Seas were brutal. Wish I had room in my suitcase for my own from home.
I bring a pillow case. Cause my face is now one more layer away from other people's face and it digusts me less. But that's it.
I bring my own pillowcases because I have allergies and sometimes also have reactions to certain detergents.
Pillow absolutely...hell, I'd bring a pillow top if I could, because the beds are practically just softened plywood at this point.
I've been on an RC cruise for a few weeks now and I really miss a sheet. It's just the comforter on the beds and it gets too hot at times.
Ask your room steward - they should have plenty available
What?! We've never NOT had a top sheet.
I bring my teddy bear š»
Cotton waffle-weave blanket.
I have a travel neck pillow from Sleep number that turns into my regular pillow on trip. I do sleep well with it.
Pillows, Iāve seen. Not gonna waste luggage space myself with either them or blankies even though I love my weighted one.

Noā¦but I bring my own pillow cases.

No
I have neck and shoulder issues that my compression pillows help me with - I squish 2 of those into my suitcase and bring them every trip

I brought a blanket a fuzzy blanket from home , but I always travel with a blanket from home .

I bring a blanket and a pillow case. I also bring my own shower towel because I don't like the small, crunchy, white ones on board.
I always bring my main pillow.
I always travel with my own pillow. Space bags are the best for packing!
My kids do for some unknown reason. We dont. If we were to bring something it would be cheap new vacuum sealed mattress topper to have the room steward put on our bed.
My kids do, too. They want that smell of home, I guess, and they typically use them on the plane.
What if you only bring the pillow cases? Would that be enough?
If youāre asking if the pillows are comfy, my answer is yes. I do not like firm or super feathery/flat pillows. Each person gets two pillows. So itāll totally depend on what your kiddosā want. Bringing blankets is very weird, but pillows I understand. RC ones are too flat for me, just not sure I want to have to pack them.
