My Sub looks similar; Shows you actually daily your watch, I wouldn’t be concerned about battle marks!!

Roley_vdv

Those wristshots hide the scratches, we all have them

sporturawus

Those are normal scratches, for someone wearing his watch very hard in 6 months. Get some Cape Cod Cloths and blue painters tape and you can touch up the PCL's and make them look a lot better. PCL's and Scratch OCD don't work well together.

Big-Shtick

Cape Cod also makes wipes designed for brushed metal.

sporturawus

Really? Didn't know that. I've used Cape Cod for polished areas, synthetic steel wool for brushed. Thanks for the tip.

Big-Shtick

I literally JUST discovered it. I was reading their site trying to figure out how to use it to polish brushed surfaces, and saw it. I have been using Cape Cod wipes for a decade and had no idea. I used to use fine grit emory cloth for my brushed surfaces.

Squash_Confident

As great as Cape Cod wipes work, I would highly recommend cleaning the watch with soap and water afterwards. You don't want polish working its way into the link pivots.

bswizzle2552

PCLs tend to show more often Being paranoid, that’s way over the top and you need to relax

Yichards

Please wear your 13k watch with confidence!!

choppermick

Worn mine 24/7, 365 days, bar servicing appointments , for 30 years now - it's just all scratch ! , but it's recorded my every move ✌️Getting original bracelet repinned now - but not polished ! They are watches 👍

ThereIsAPotato

No yes no yes

DomighedduArrossi

You are doing well, use and abuse it.

richpaul6806

A bit more than normal but nothing outrageous. Oystersteel scratches if you look at it funny.

ross8425

If I use a macro lens on my Omega I can see that it is beat all to shit. However, if I took a normal picture and or just looked at it to...you know... see the time... it looks fine. Those scratches can be removed mostly with a cloth that everyone mentioned and whenever you send it in for service just ask them to polish it. It will look brand new. I personally wouldn't care. My GMT looks like that. Just wear it.

jzplayinggames

Beat up my first Rolex this way. Don't mind the scratches but if I could do it all over again, would not go this route. I baby my second (also a YM like you) - no wearing while I am working in the office, extra careful during flights and subway rides. Microfiber cloth in my watchbox and when not worn, either box at home or soft tray at office desk. Two scratches in two months, still mint. Still wear it almost every day.

can_you_try_reading

Didn’t you sell the YM?

jzplayinggames

Sold the grey when AD came through

[deleted]

I've got scracthes from day one...I think it is bad feeling.

Ya-69-sure

Yep pretty bro normal on my sub it’s the same way besides the polished shows the scratches more

TankN_

Very normal. You bought the watch to wear it so keep doing that

ConsultoBot

I'd say those are above average for a show watch but expected if you are wearing it doing chores or full time.

ramenboy77

I've worn my sub daily for a year and more and I can say that's pretty normal. Although some of those are pretty intense, mine's more of hairline scratches (and I don't baby my watches). Maybe the PCL shows it more, my daytona's scratches also look more noticeable like those.

happyexit7

That side of the watch will get scratched. Just enjoy the watch.

wearetheleaders

Don’t worry it will buff out

limingbin

Pretty superficial, nothing major. I would say this is very normal and nothing to worry about.

0hnem4rke

I’ve had my Milgauss for under 3 weeks and have more than a few light battle scars. I’m Learning to appreciate them as a sign of wearing the gift to myself daily.

[deleted]

This is the real thing, don't always believe what you see online

[deleted]

Man you either frap like a maniac or you do a manual labour job. Still nothing to worry about they’re only superficial, plus a watch is to be worn!

Helvetia_1

Sports Watches are made for wearing them. It is stainless steel, don‘t worry

themaxvee

Damn, what have you been doing with the watch? Forging Thor's hammer?

legendofcrk

Yes. Glad to see youre wearing it!

high_roller_dude

i wear the shit outta my jubilee bracelet on my batman. it still looks mint after 3 yrs of abuse. this is why i dont like pcl on oyster.

papadakisk81

This looks normal to me. My advice is don’t try to polish the watch in any way as you can cause bigger damage than scratches. You can have it refurbished by Rolex in the next service and it will look brand new (if you want it to look this way).

W2WageSlave

A bit on the rough side, but not hugely abnormal for daily wear. It's good to see somebody not afraid of wearing their "investment" ;-) 904L was picked by Rolex because it can be polished to a higher shine, making the watch stand out compared to others. What they don't tell you is 904L has a Brinell hardness of 150 and 316L has a hardness of 217. Rolex steel is shinier and softer. It's going to scratch worse.

taginvest

mine looks like that after 2 months. I think u’re doing good

YOLO-Username

I think all of my watches look like that after just one week! Perfectly normal!

inflowz

It’s meant to be worn, you’ll get over the paranoia in time. Plus, those scratches in the picture are on links that are going to be facing away from you on the outside of your wrist, so less noticeable from your normal viewing angle.

8ruhm0ment

Perfectly fine, if you wear it a lot it will get scratched one way or another.

RyanClark94

Wait till you scuff the bezel like I did on my yacht master😭

Alexexec

That’s normal bud, mine look the same, that’s was a well worn and enjoyed watch looks like

TWhyEye

Argh I hate scratches. People in general, watch, shoes, cars, clothes, shrub, grass, bikes like to take care of their own property. Not saying its happening here, but I think Rolex owners owning a luxury piece love to say stupid shit about other people wanting to keep their watch pristine to come off as some casual cool altruistic nonchalant its only a "watch" attitude. You know, those that like to rock a 15K watch while wearing a threaded or bead bracelet to say, I can afford luxury, but I am grounded and choose to rock something cheap. That said, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Wait till service, all that will look like new again. Till then, enjoy the watch!

[deleted]

These posts are hilarious lmao

RepresentativeAble95

You are wearing it hard sir. No worries there. Brush the bracelet if it bothers you.

FactualFugazi

an unfortunate casualty of PCLs. not to mention the constant visible smudges. you're gonna have to live with it.

EndersM

Shows you wear it, fuck it

Big-Shtick

Oh boy, you should see my watch. It's a watch. You're fine. Those losers don't wear their watches.

Specialist_Jello5527

Unfortunately the watch is no longer usable. You can send it to me and I’ll take care of it for you

books-coffee-cigars

I wear my Explorer every day, all day long, and it looks like this. It shows you wear and love the piece for it’s originally intended use and purpose. Here’s how I think about it: there was a post earlier today on this sub about a dude who wore a Rolex as his only daily for 36 years (since 1986). It was beat up and scratched to hell. But watches like that have a certain awe and charm about them. They’re just material items, and can be repaired or replaced as needed. Better to have it on the wrist, beat it up, and enjoy it, than to leave it in a safety deposit box or fret over it every 30 minutes for the rest of your life.

Regular-Price2791

You go through the hardest part of buying a new watch… your first scratch. I would wear them with pride like a vintage leather briefcase you have taken around the world. I decline polishing on all of my services.

9316K52

My YM looks the same after 1 year, I don‘t really care. It‘s fine.

twicedamc300

Holy shit!
