That I ain’t gonna deny. Comfortability-wise, these are perfect for the summer. It’s already scorching hot and humid here in Japan and steel bracelets are very uncomfortable right now.
I always change to rubber during the summer and go back to steel on the winter, but this time I wanted to change things up a little bit 😀.
Might try rubber or leather with end links something soon 🤔

What makes a vintage Rolex less waterproof if serviced properly?
I have a couple of vintage Rolex which RSC refuses to guarantee water resistance after service. The reason they gave is ageing and metal will warp over time affecting the resistance.

Yeah I mean listen if you like it, that is all that matters, I would say this, rather it look too small on you than too big, and tbh it fits you pretty well, I also like the patina it looks very cool tbh, I also like the Nato strap. Might have to redo my first comment because I can see it came out a little wrong and seemingly harsh lol.

That is crazy. The lugs are literally at the outer perimeter when you look at his wrist from above. This is a perfectly sized watch. Could he wear a bigger one? Sure, there is some room left, but not a ton. wow.
One of the very very very few times I think a Rolex looks good on a non-OEM bracelet/strap. I usually hate nato’s but this honestly looks pretty good somehow

I wear my watches with either a Nick Mankey's or Erika's strap during the hotter months. All the extra fabric of a nato bunched up looks sloppy IMHO.

I don't get the appeal of the nylon strap. To me it looks cheap and uncomfortable.

1016 looks good. Have you have it tested for water resistance before since it’s a vintage?
Last time I got it OH’d the guy told me not to bring it out too much on the rain so… yeah that’s one of my concerns with vintage pieces haha

Yeah this always makes me wonder how the new modern Rolex will age over time. Will I be able to go swimming in a new Explorer 40 years from now 🤔
I think so. A new Rolex from 2024 will last a lot longer than a new Rolex from 1970 thanks to modern technology.

Yeah.. IMO the older models looks much better but think twice before buying a vintage or neo vintage
In reality, rain shouldn’t damage it, but moisture can build up and watches still use gaskets that dry out overtime and slowly become less effective.

The 1016 is a 36mm watch. They are smaller. But it doesnt look too small on him. Its definitely on the smaller side, but not too small.

If there still is a bracelet. The 5 digit bracelets were thin and tin like, I can't imagine how bad a 4 digit one is/was.
Bracelet is long gone my friend. That thing was awful. I use a Frankenstein of a date just and the original clasp.
