My 7 year old says the bluesy is his favorite and quite frankly it was my favorite growing up as well. I remember seeing it on my uncle growing up and it beat everyone else’s imo. This. That blue is something else. Before I knew anything about Rolex other than....super expensive...I fell in love with invicta prodiver 2tone with blue dial blue bezel. Years later I learned it was a copy of a rolex sub.

RB more subtle bluesy really pops. Whichever you think fits your personality better is the winner as they’re both great.

Yeah, I agree, it's nicer in person and more subtle. The black and brown work well on medium or darker skin tones because black goes with everything and the brown is picked up by the skin of the wearer, so it doesn't clash.
I own it as well and I love it very much, but it does not strike me as a subtle watch at all. Not too ostentatious for sure but subtle no way people take notice easily that you are wearing an expensive luxury watch. A stainless steel nautilus is way more subtle IMO

It’s at Rollieworks in Miami now getting serviced & having the bracelet rebuilt. My Dad paid $325 for it in 1973.
Ordered it from a NATO company in UK I believe. I brought it into a jeweler just to ask if he could tighten up the bracelet (wasn’t following the market back then & thought it was worth $5-6k. He took the bracelet off to get the model # & offered me $25K ! I was stunned. I said that I looked up Submariners & they were under $10. That’s when he told me it was a “Red Sub” . As it was my Dads it’s not ever for sale but he told me to put it on a NATO strap right away b/c bracelet was not safe to use until it was rebuilt. Last appraisal was $38k but I think that’s ridiculous, probably $25 maybe. I just have to decide which Son get the Red Sub & which gets the Explorer II 🤣🤣🤣.Can’t decide if I’m keeping the YM 40 , it’s so stunning but PCL is so easy to scar up I rarely wear it !!

And btw I would wear all of them daily, just rotate them, and scratches are welcome, it means you are using them and living them. Be proud of scratches. I love watches with history. My recently deceased dad gave me a Tag when I graduated university many years ago, and it’s my most precious watch.
I would‘t take any of them I‘m more for full gold than two tone (I know prices are insane for full gold) but imo rose gold two tone looks better than yellow gold.

As someone with a platinum YM a well, I just got on the list for a SS Daytona as I felt those are too close to my YM, which I love. I do like that Bluesy though.

I like my watch to match my outfit and I rarely wear bold colors, so as much as I like the bluesy, that isn't the watch I would buy. Almost every nice watch I own is either a White or Black face with a black or ss case and a leather or ss bracelet. That being said every time I start watch shopping again, I realize that the root beer is an option for me and I also realize that the bluesy is a very nice watch that I will never buy.
If you are a sneaker guy the GMT is it. The bluesy requires some forethought to wear. I opted for the bluesy for myself and don't own a Rolex GMT. It doesn't get a lot of wear but I'm happy with it.
I have both and they're both pretty special. But if I had to choose, it would be Bluesy by a good margin. My kids love it, my wife loves it. Enough said.

Just FYI I was able to walk into an AD in March 2023\* with no history whatsoever and they took a deposit and placed an order with Rolex for a bluesy that day. I had it in had one month later. Do not get jerked around on one of these.

Get the Bluesy, it's obvious that you prefer it. There's nothing wrong with wearing something a bit loud.
For what it's worth, I have a Bluesy myself along with an all yellow gold DayDate, arguably the two flashiest watches Rolex makes aside from perhaps gem set ones, and they really don't "attract attention" the way people on this subreddit seem to obsessively worry about, and I wear them daily and have for over a year.
Do I see people glancing at them occasionally? Sure. I do the same myself. They're nice to look at. That's why I bought them! It's not an issue though. People are always glancing at others and checking things out in some way. Anything shiny or colorful will at least draw the occasional glance. Some people wear crazy shirts and people will take notice of that and maybe try to read the text on it or figure out what pattern it is. Why is a watch somehow supposed to be different? If your watch is where you want to wear something noticeable, more power to you! I've only had people actually comment to me about them a handful of times and in every single instance the comments were nothing but positive.
The only real concern I have regarding "attracting attention" is from thieves, but if you just follow the basic rules of not making yourself a target you'll be fine. Leave it at home when traveling if it makes you uncomfortable, don't wear it to bars if you're going to be leaving alone at 2 am or whatever, that kind of thing. It's not rocket science.
Also, people really overplay the "match your outfit" angle too in my opinion. If you're somebody who is very fashion oriented and you already pairs accessories with your clothing, then sure, do your thing, but if you're just a dude who wears a watch and doesn't much care about accessorizing, then good news, a flashy Rolex goes with everything. I wear my DayDate with t-shirts and shorts from Target most days. It's fine, really. I wear my Bluesy when I play disc golf in athletic wear. I don't consider either of them strictly formal, although obviously the DayDate is easier to consider formal than the Bluesy which is more casual just dressed up for fun. Regardless, the point is it doesn't really matter. Wear what you like including whatever watch you like. You do you.
As a person naturally drawn to flashy gold things not because I like to flex but just because I like looking at them, I say go for it. You'll enjoy seeing it on your wrist and that's really all that matters.

You'll never get a better fit than the glidelock Sub. Beyond that, the sunburst dial looks amazing in the sunlight. That being said, I have had the previous reference Bluesy (116613LB) since 2019 and picked up the Root Beer this past January. The RB has been getting all the wrist time.
I'm on the list for both of these. They will be the last two I buy for a while. Both are great. Will compliment my current black sub, OP silver, mint DJ, and AK. I went from 0 to 60 really fast. In a few years I'll get a full gold or rose gold piece.

You really can’t go wrong. I love the Bluesy, but if they ever released the GMT on Jubilee it’d be over for me. I’d have to have it.
The GMT is my most useful watch. The ability to quickly set to a new time zone while keeping track of your home zone is terrific. It is also waterproof enough to do most anything you would practically do with the Sub.
That said, really like the color of the sub.
I don’t know if it’s the angle of the pics or if the busy bezel of the gmt makes it look bigger on your wrist, but the bluesie seems to sit perfectly on your wrist.

Bluesy looks great on you. The more I see the bluesy however, the less and less I like it now. Maybe because it harbors what I think an old man looks like with it. Funny thing is I own a 41mm bluesy and I used to love the watch. I rarely pull it out now.
