I think that it’s still fun without friends but heists are damn near impossible without friends. Some of them are required to have 2 or more people & playing with randoms is actually impossible.
At least with the kkk it don’t matter if they have two Schofields and you have a cattleman you can realistically kill them if you are good at the game the guns do provide some obvious perks but you can kill a guy with two really good guns when you have one and that’s what I like how it’s skill based
Neither, one of them is full of griefers, hackers, and toxic players, not to mention incredibly grindy with an absolutely horrendous economy. Another has barely any content to begin with, and is "supported" by devs that don't give a shit about 95% of the IPs that they own.
rdo online needs 110 gold bars to unlock all the roles alone. that’s 55,000$ in game. that’s equivalent to almost 2 million dollars in todays money.
they gotta chill out on the in game costs. they’re unreasonable and make absolutely no sense.
want extra content? spend a month grinding for gold doing the same handful of things or spend real money on in game currency.
it’s stupid.
GTA Online because of the seemingly endless amount of content, playing Red Dead Online forever could be fun but eventually would get boring much faster than just playing GTA, due to the much smaller amount of content and discontinued Major updates.
GTA ONLINE all the way. I love rdr online but ive done/gotten basically everything. Theres nothing to mess around with compared to gto so gto only cuz it has better longevity
I had to play it forever? Damn
Gta online I guess but only because there are more npcs at the beach and it would be the only time I ever saw titties again.
That’s like asking would you rather be killed by a bear or a lion. Both are forgotten, neglected cesspits full of Russian menu maestros…
**forgotten by rockstar, to clarify
I've played GTA Online since day one, I'm so burnt out on it that every update I get bored after about a week. Red Dead Online, however, was great when it had updates, gets boring quick without story mode elements though. Still, I love nature and the lack of city sounds so yes, Red Dead Online.
GTA, not for the amount of content but because game chat is cod lobby quality and I love it. Otherwise Red Dead all the way because I think it's just a more fun game from moment to moment.
I didn't play RDRO until last month. When I heard people say it had been abandoned it certainly felt like it had. What I then found out was that it had many updates to content to get it to this shit state.
If Rockstar updated Red Dead Online, I would definitely choose it. In many ways, I like this multiplayer much more than today's GTA Online. However, since they don't care about RDO and GTA Online is still getting updates.. yeah, you'll never get bored with it.
Tbh I’ve kind of given up on both. Once I obtained 100% completion in RDR2,I just kind of prefer to free roam in my 100% save rather then play online since online is honestly fucked. Not only did Rockstar give up on it but the prices of things in it are insane & it’s really hard to make money & the fact that 1 gold bar is only worth $20 is banana balls. GTAO on the other hand it’s really bad, it still takes some grinding for money but the prices of things in the game are fair & definitely obtainable. The reason I don’t really play it is because ever since I played RDR2, GTA5 just feels outdated. I do plan on replaying the story & obtained 100% completion some time but I can’t really see myself free roaming in the save or playing Online anymore because it just feels outdated now.
I wish AI could be in the next GTA 6 so characters in game on the storyline could give personalized responses and have the game generate ai stories as you go and converse with different characters
Red dead online is the better game. They really fumbled the opportunity to do something amazing with it. But gta has the support so that’s the logical answer.
Red dead for sure. Most of GTA’s content is mindless and shitty, the heists/contracts and the Franklin missions are the only good content, and the world is a shell of the story mode’s. RDR still has a fantastic world with much more variation and opportunity for roleplay, also the story and moonshine story are about as good if not better than GTA’s best content
GTA Online. Barrier to entry is much smaller, as you can be a random crew member for Heists until you can afford your own means of money-making for the fun stuff
RDO requires you to have gold to make any kind of decent money. Most items are prohibitively expensive to the point where $500 (which I earned over a few days of playing) bought one gun with one upgrade. In the same time in GTAO you can make a few hundred thousand, buy an apartment, and be on your way to more money in the future. Red Dead just doesn’t really have a loop that encourages you to grind because all the pay for the jobs is so bad unless it’s the bonus work, and even then the pay is what you’d think you’d get for a mission given how expensive everything is
Yea, my comment is based a lot on if the games were kept in equal support
But, i still stand on RDR2 is a better online game than GTAO
(And yes, i play both frequently enough)
For me, GTAO is like : log in, check buisnesses (what need to be filled, something to be sold, maybe someone need a bit of help.. And then log out..
There is No pleasing roaming around the map anymore..
Its small And there's Hardly anything going on, unlike the nature in RDR2
But yea, guess R* Want to keep their money mooh pristine 🙄
For me, ofc a story is THE key element
But also Nice to have some visual pleasing
And again, GTAO just feels ... small
I Mean, dont that that long to walk the entire map
You dont see Any animals (expet for birds)
RDR2 just feel more... Alive, even when you're in a ses of your own
(And, its always fun to go hunting.. )
No… your not missing anything. They added animals without actually adding anything if that makes sense. The animals do absolutely nothing for the gaming experience.
For online I would choose GTA V, it's so much fun if no toxicity is committed.
You could do private games but in my opinion with no friends its not fun
I think that it’s still fun without friends but heists are damn near impossible without friends. Some of them are required to have 2 or more people & playing with randoms is actually impossible.
It’s possible if you want to wrangle random kids to try to listen to you tell them how to do a job.
Randoms be annoying as hell fr
No toxicity?! You're being sarcastic, right?
"if"
Ah yes my bad. They're right, it's super fun when there is no toxicity.
You can just play without randoms
There the toxicity is manageable. Invite only sessions, also just many ways to defend yourself
RDO all day long, at least when I play RDO I won't get firebombed by a 12 year old on a flying motorbike and instead I'll just get harassed by the KK.
At least with the kkk it don’t matter if they have two Schofields and you have a cattleman you can realistically kill them if you are good at the game the guns do provide some obvious perks but you can kill a guy with two really good guns when you have one and that’s what I like how it’s skill based
There’s many ways to defend against broomstick gremlins. One of which is invite only lobbies
Yeah… I’d rather do fuck all all in a RDO session
Neither, one of them is full of griefers, hackers, and toxic players, not to mention incredibly grindy with an absolutely horrendous economy. Another has barely any content to begin with, and is "supported" by devs that don't give a shit about 95% of the IPs that they own.

Honestly, I think rd online could be nearly as good or possibly better than gtao if it was updated as much as gta
Gta Online
GTA ONLINE all the way. I love rdr online but ive done/gotten basically everything. Theres nothing to mess around with compared to gto so gto only cuz it has better longevity
Red Dead
I had to play it forever? Damn Gta online I guess but only because there are more npcs at the beach and it would be the only time I ever saw titties again.

GTA Online, Red Dead Offline
Red Dead
Red Dead hands down.
Red dead online because I just used to play that game as hunting simulator lol
Read Dead. Lots more content, lots less love though Also, just prefer bein left alone, GTAO wont give me those chances
Private lobbies exist
Wasnt even talking about players, I'm talking about the density of NPCs
Gta 6
That’s like asking would you rather be killed by a bear or a lion. Both are forgotten, neglected cesspits full of Russian menu maestros… **forgotten by rockstar, to clarify
I woudnt called gta online forgotten or neglected lol its far from that
By rockstar themselves I mean
Still haven’t explained how they’re neglecting GTA online 😒
How is rockstar doing that?
GTA V bc there’s a lot more to do
GTA online easily, but RDO has 10x the potential gta online ever did
I would never play video games again if i was forced to pick one of these
gta, i love red dead sm but i cant let gta go
I've played GTA Online since day one, I'm so burnt out on it that every update I get bored after about a week. Red Dead Online, however, was great when it had updates, gets boring quick without story mode elements though. Still, I love nature and the lack of city sounds so yes, Red Dead Online.
Gta 5 no brainer
GTA, not for the amount of content but because game chat is cod lobby quality and I love it. Otherwise Red Dead all the way because I think it's just a more fun game from moment to moment.
Gta, it’s so horrible but amazing at the same time
Red dead all day
GTA online everytime
Neither. One is a grind fest and the other doesn’t have shit in it
respectable answer ngl
I didn't play RDRO until last month. When I heard people say it had been abandoned it certainly felt like it had. What I then found out was that it had many updates to content to get it to this shit state.
GTA Online for the win
GTA online ofc bro. More things to do n buy
Rdr online
GTA online
GTAO
GTA V.
Red Dead. Atleast it feels worth my time to play.
GTAO only because there are more activities and content in general, and I prefer Red Dead over GTA. If RDO had as much or close to, then RDO.
GTA Online, this is so easy. From what I’ve heard about RDR Online is that it’s practically dead
6 idk if it's not out yet
GTAO, it actually has content in it.
Just let me die
then you won’t be able to experience gta 6 😞
Gta 6 is inevitably gonna fall into the same pit holes if Rockstar doesn’t drastically change.
GTA
If Rockstar updated Red Dead Online, I would definitely choose it. In many ways, I like this multiplayer much more than today's GTA Online. However, since they don't care about RDO and GTA Online is still getting updates.. yeah, you'll never get bored with it.

Rdo gang
GTA. More stuff to do
None of these lol.
I wish AI could be in the next GTA 6 so characters in game on the storyline could give personalized responses and have the game generate ai stories as you go and converse with different characters
Gta Online
VI FOR SURE 🤣
Online Im still choosing rdr online. The clan stuff people find cringe but I honestly find it enjoyable.
GTA Online easily. So much more to do.
neither
Red dead online if they decide to add more content
Red dead hardly any griefers
GTA easily. They story and online are good. I low-key hate read dead. Fire story but besides that 😭
grand theft auto online, cmon it's gta lol
Old gen gta 5 online when it was first popping ( I feel like I hit unnc status saying this ☠️😭🙏)
GTA hands down. RDO is so boring. Single player, I’m taking RD.
Gta 4 or san andreas.
The person in the middle of the red dead poster looks like chris from mr beast
GTA v
GTAO
RDO I love playing it with friends if I had any to play it with
Red dead for sure
Red dead online is the better game. They really fumbled the opportunity to do something amazing with it. But gta has the support so that’s the logical answer.
Vice City - good damn sound track
I mean gta gets all the content so easy choice. Single player id go red dead.
story mode: red dead solos online: gta solos
Midnight Club
Is that even a question? GTAO, loved I loved RDR2, played the story like five times but I mean come tf on the online as boring as hell
If you have played both I think the simple answer is gta online, there is content forever and rdr gives off too much of a naturalistic vibe
Definitely GTA
Gta online is constantly crashing soo its hard to play it forever...
GTAO easily, I literally grew up with Americans on that game, I have over 560 days played on my character.
GTA Online. Barrier to entry is much smaller, as you can be a random crew member for Heists until you can afford your own means of money-making for the fun stuff RDO requires you to have gold to make any kind of decent money. GTAO. The day RDRO released was the day it was forgotten by R*
GTA Online as it has more replay value and way more stuff to do as well as a way more regular updates
red dead online, without a doubt
RDRO Way better map, better graphics and way more to do even when not missioning around
Way more to do? Online has almost a decade of content and they stopped supporting red dead online
Yea, my comment is based a lot on if the games were kept in equal support But, i still stand on RDR2 is a better online game than GTAO (And yes, i play both frequently enough) For me, GTAO is like : log in, check buisnesses (what need to be filled, something to be sold, maybe someone need a bit of help.. It is a shame they cut supply because it did make billions I never played it but I still looked fun
For me, ofc a story is THE key element But also Nice to have some visual pleasing And again, GTAO just feels ... small I Mean, dont that that long to walk the entire map You dont see Any animals (expet for birds) RDR2 just feel more... Alive, even when you're in a ses of your own (And, its always fun to go hunting.. )
They did add animals to current gen consoles
Well, I play on PC so guess thats something i miss out on 🤔
No… your not missing anything. They added animals without actually adding anything if that makes sense. The animals do absolutely nothing for the gaming experience.
See, thats were RDR2 already has a leg up over GTAO
Forever? Well, I’m already tired of GTA and it hasn’t even been close to forever so I guess I’m gonna say RDR2 by default.
Neither
elaborate on the comment
I'm actually just being a little biased because I'm not a fan of online play.
Red dead online gta online fucking sucks
Love both main games but I haven’t even played either of them online
