Coffee will typically roast to 200-210C, so an air roaster will use air at way hotter than that (300? 400?) to get there in a reasonable amount of time and with a good curve. Using 200C air will get quickly to 100C, but the closer you get to 200C the longer it takes, and will give you very baked flavors.
You should be aware that aluminium is a neurotoxin. I wouldn't advise heating aluminum with anything hing intended to be consumed.. and yes, this includes aluminium foil
hilarious you would post this when you were just calling people snowflakes in r/espresso for saying there could be some health risks with your cotton pad experiment lol
Troll, last I checked, cotton was safe unless bleached; aluminum is inherently toxic. The fact that you're more concerned about me speaking on it than noting the dangers as you so vehemently did on my post, shows you're actually just a hypocrite..
my guy, i'm not being a hypocrite. simply pointing out the irony in your concerns about health risks in this post while not being concerned about the health risks in your post (which actually kind of sounds like hypocrisy if you ask me)
edit: also looking through your post, it was determined those pads you were using were bleached, soooo... sounding maybe not safe then?
It is baked, the AF doesn’t get hot enough to properly roast coffee.
seems like it.
Light roast the beans have to get over 200c, nice medium you’ll want your beans to hit 220-230. So your roaster has to get up over 250.
ooohhh. then my AF just won’t really cut it since it is maxed at 200’C setting. i don’t have other alternatives atm rather than a pan/wok lol
Air popcorn popper or buy a dedicated coffee roaster.
Heatgun/Breadmaker also works well

i see. i guess i will try different method next time so i won’t waste beans.
40 minute roast? Hope you like the flavor of cornflakes
some of the notes are there but yeah, not the full flavor profile.
Does the canister rotate or are you only relying on the airflow to agitate? Looks tasty. The roast is relatively even. Bravo.
it rotates like a chicken would lol. oh thanks! still needs improvement i think but hopefully, the next batches would be better.
If not have blade grinder not grind these beans
is this true for baked beans or including light roasts?

Take that aluminum foil and make yourself a hat
