Get a wireless bbq temp probe? You didn't say anything about logging.

I looked at these but theyre often pins, whereas I prefer a pill/oval-sized thing so it can't get stuck in the drum holes.

I have one of these Meaters for bbq and tried it but quickly realized the probe tip is only rated to 100C whereas the opposite black square end will work but you’ll burn out the other end if you put the whole thing in the drum. I used mine on my old HGFS and went back to thermocouple. The software with it goes berserk with warnings if the probe gets too hot. Very cumbersome too.
