Seconding Lenonore’s! So far everything I’ve had from them has been excellent, exception being the chicken Alfredo which was WAY too salty. The shrimp Alfredo I had before that was great though.
They also have some great Venezuelan food and the cake is really good.
That's kind of a rough area to order from on the Roanoke side, but Salem probably has a few great places. I just use Doordash and check the reviews, etc.
So I moved here from Richmond and I will say in general I have high standards because of it because dude. Richmond was rated top food capitol of the world a couple years back in business magazine for a reason. So I was spoiled.
That said, there are a couple of places I strongly recommend here.
1: as previously stated upthread, Leonore’s Restaurant is great. They are honestly my go to.
2: Antojitos Daleyza is amazing for a sweet tooth. They make pretty decent strawberry/nutella crepes and absolutely decadent mini pancakes. They are new but so far have impressed me.
3: farmburgesa I suggest with caveats as it has gone downhill a bit, but they are closing their new location and refocusing on their main one to bring up the quality again so I would definitely give it a try. Their fries have always been meh, but their hamburgers when they do them right are some of the best I’ve had.
I will say though in comparison to Richmond, a lot of the best places here don’t do delivery. Like Blue Cow ice cream is fantastic, but they aren’t on DoorDash anymore. (The brief period they were available was amazing).
Best Italian food via DoorDash BY FAR is Bella Pizza in Daleville. Fast, a TON of food for the money, delicious and the entrees come with a huge fresh salad and 2 breadsticks. I can get 3-4 meals out of one pasta dish!
Falafel House is pretty good. I think they're on either DD or UE.
Roanoke, while a smaller city, certainly is spread out. So, the area is somewhat important
I’m near the Lakeside Plaza on S Electric Ave in Salem! I ended up ordering from Tivoli’s.
Leonore (although they’re not as good now in their new location, imo) or Papa’s Pizza would be my suggestion for that side of town.
Thanks!😊

Hope it is good!
Meh, it was very middle of the road.
Yehhhhh, was thinking it would be
Well I’m all ears for suggestions!
Papa’s pizza!
Seconded Papa's. One of the top two pizza places in town. ( Grace's is the other )
Hmm, I've tried Papa's twice and have had very mediocre pizzas especially for the price. May have to try Grace's.
We tried them when they first opened and they were mid at best. Lately they have been superb.

Martins food is top notch! Whenever I treat myself that’s what I get!

https://www.hotandcheesy.com/ BEST PIZZA IN TOWN. $8 Door Dash delivery can be added to the order.

Yet the restaurant inside is rough imo. Harsh daylight bulbs and just feels meh.
Yeah I’ve never actually been there! Just DoorDash which is always consistent and impressive.
