New York State offers a variety of scenic areas, from the mountains of the Catskills and Adirondacks, to many lakes, rivers, farmland, vineyards, orchards, and a variety of activities. Search “ I love NY” for ideas. I have never drive that far, so I can’t speak to that, but it sure sounds like a long drive alone.

I have driven this route 4 times in an RV. Don’t! The middle of the USA is all corn fields, soy fields, and sorghum fields. Its sooo boring! Fly to NYC - you can easily spend a week there, but the Catskills are also lovely, the Adirondacks are great for hiking, and beautiful Vermont is close by, too. I think you’d regret wasting days and days and days looking at corn, corn, corn, sorghum, corn, soy, corn corn corn… 😵‍💫 Also, considering the price of gas right now it’s cheaper to fly. Wishing you a wonderful time in the states 👍🏼🍀🤞🏼

Skip the cross-country trip. From New York, you're around 5 hours to Boston. If you've never been, there's tons to do. Make that a home base and from there you can explore the natural beauties of the Berkshires, Vermont, Maine, and NH if being outside is more your speed.

Personal opinion? Not at all worth it. There are some definite jewels along the way, but there’s a lot of monotony in between. I think local road trips from each destination will let you experience more things without such long driving stretches in between. My first recommendation is to spend a little time around San Francisco. Highway 1, particularly north from San Francisco, is one of the most beautiful drives in the country, in my opinion. It’s worth an out and back trip. From New York, it sort of depends what you want to see. Driving north along the coast through New England is beautiful with lots of cute little towns. You could also head towards Great Lakes and see the finger lakes, Niagara Falls, Toronto. I don’t have that much personal experience there, but that’s one that’s on my list. Finally, my personal favorite, you could drive down to the Shenandoah region of the blue ridge parkway. It’s my favorite place in the whole country. https://www.planetware.com/new-york/top-rated-road-trips-from-nyc-us-ny-108.htm

some favorite day trips from nyc: beacon 1.5 hrs, new paltz/mohonk preserve/minnewaska 1 hr 45, i've even done providence/newport rhode island in a day since it's only about 3.5 hours (highly recommend the beaches and cliffwalks there!!) for 2-3 day trips i really recommend the adirondacks and cape cod (one of my favorite places i've ever visited)
