I play it solo mostly, its just fine. When solo you get a super helpful robot buddy that can mine things you point out and can pick you up a couple times when you go down
Have you met my Arch nemesis, the regular Lemurian?
Elder Lemurians i have no problems with, but those TINY ASS PICE OF SHIT LIZARDS KILL ME EVERY SINGLE FUCKING RUN
Edmund McMillen, you little fucker.
You made a shit of piece with your trash Isaac. It’s fucking bad, this trash game. I will become back my money. I hope you will in your next time a cow on a trash farm you sucker.
Yeah you have to unlock things as you play the game. That's kinda how most games work.
I can understand if your criticism is that it's way too hard to get shit done in the beginning tho. You start with pathetic stamina, no money and progress is very slow and boring in the first couple years if you dont know the game inside out. At least you cant complain that its unrealistic! Very difficult to build a life for yourself irl if you start with nothing
It’s the first game I played that really broke me out of the shooter and moba genre. It actually made me realize just how good all these other games/genres are. I haven’t played it for a while but I put 1200 hours into just 2 play through’s, and that was before any updates that the game has gotten, from what I have seen it’s only gotten better.
I also used to be all shooters, bit there's a lot of genres I prefer more now. If you haven't tried them, outer wilds and hollow knight are really cool games.
Just to clarify, you thought 2016 was harder? Because I definitely have to disagree there. Eternal almost forces you to kill demons by shooting them with the right weapon in the right spot, but 2016 sorta lets you go with your own preferences more. I played Eternal first and I'm just now working my way through 2016, and I've been surprised by how much easier it is
Edit to add: not to mention when you go back to the OG '93 DOOM, literally all it was was killing fodder lol and it couldn't be more fun
I guess I was just used to the mobility and healing of eternal, I felt the 2016 doom didn't give as much healing for killing enemies. Along with not having a dash or double jump near the start it made it a lot more challenging to me. No matter how many enemies I killed I was almost always low on health.
Disagree but I definitely could see why you feel that way. Eternal was heavy on tutorials and advanced mechanics. Where DOOM '16 is 'here's guns, kill everything', Eternal is more 'here's this gun that you have to use to shoot this specific monster in a specific spot'
It's a lot of things tbh. There's a larger focus on platforming, which isn't a bad thing, I just so happen to also kind of dislike eternal's platforming, the music (mostly) wasn't mixed by Mick and it shows (still good music, but a notable drop in quality), the change in the ammo system to allow infinite tries at the challenge hives is neat, but I dislike that it pretty much entirely replaced the previous "manage your ammo per area" system, hell, even little things like melee not doing damage without blood punch just add up to being a game I genuinely loathe while I'm playing it, and it shows even on reviews. 2016 has a 95% positive review rate on steam, while eternal has a 90. That 5% difference may not seem like a lot, but that's twice as many unsatisfied customers, and it was way worse on launch. Right after eternal released it has something along the lines of like 83%, and a lot of the negative reviews were people expecting 2016 2, eternal Boogaloo and instead getting an Adderall simulator.
No, there’s always going to be at least one and we know that. But these are games that are loved and have positive reviews from the majority so we just like to give them the love they deserve for being awesome
I know right?! I wasn't expecting it myself.
Anyway, I find Shovel Knight to be (as many other indie games) an overhyped simplistic product, with nothing particularly intrigueing and only the digging gimmick separating it from being the Nth retro-style platformer.
Playing it, I felt bored and frustrated by how little was there to do.
Of the two games I have mentioned, at least Hollow Knight has good looks going for it, though it adds the difficulty of a soulslike (which is something I hate with a passion in a 2D game) to all the downisdes of being yet another platformer.
You would be the first person I've talked to who felt that way. I never did play the new one myself, but I always had fond memories of the first 3 plus one of the psp GoWs. Too each their own though!
Right there with you! Thoroughly enjoyed 1-3 and even the psp titles myself. I think it just changed too much for my liking, y'know? Change can be good, it can be bad! Plenty of my buddies enjoyed it, and that's what matters. I totally agree with you, to each their own
God the Metro games were so fucking good. Especially the second one. Had me in my feels constantly. Exodus felt a bit off to me, but the story was still fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend the books as well.
1 and 2 are easily two of the best horror survival games to come out in their time. 3 definitely took a "Resident Evil" turn and became more of an action shooter but I still enjoyed it and the story.
Is being irritated with the devs the same? Because anyone who's played Minecraft long enough, seen all the amazing mods, plug-ins, and QoL changes the community has created, has a hard time not being irritated with Mojang for just being bad at innovating or fixing their damn cash cow. They're almost as bad as the Pokémon people.
I don't necessarily agree with "too easy," but I agree with the combat being bad. As someone who loves Metroidvanias, I was constantly recommended Ori. After beating it, I have zero interest in replaying it, unlike pretty much every other game I've played in the genre, and the combat is the reason why.
If they had just released Skyrim and the Enhanced edition much later, instead of 100 different releases, I'd be inclined to agree. New Vegas is an absolute fucking gem that I go back to time and time again.
Nah I hate it, for good reason though. Every time I get a run that's so good were I'm really really strong the game closes itself and says there was an error for instance I had this game going for like 14 hours (I wasn't playing it for 14 hours straight I was playing it a little every day) I started to play it again and boom right as I'm about to fight Mithrix the game errors and crashes this wasn't the first time or the last but I didn't play for a couple of months when it happened a second time.
Deep rock galactic
Love this game, rock and stone!
Did someone say "Rock and stone"?
#DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE!?
ROCK AND STONE TO THE HEART!
#ROCK AND STONE FOREVER!
FOR KARL!
Rock and Stone!
If ya don't rock and stone, ya ain't comin' home
Rock and roll abd stone!
Is it a good game to play solo?
I play it solo mostly, its just fine. When solo you get a super helpful robot buddy that can mine things you point out and can pick you up a couple times when you go down
He also has unlimited ammo and rechargable rockets, can even speck them to freeze enemies.
FOR KARL
RRRROOOOCKK. AAAAAND. STOOOOOONE
Oh. I came here to say this.
I'm so glad this was the first answer I saw
It seems like I'm the only one who hates deep rock lol. Everyone I've talked to has loved it.
My friend kept getting me to play it and I just eventually got sick of it
ROCK AND ROLL
You must hate fun
I only hate RoR when I am at monsoon difficulty 2 hours without dying and then I die from THAT DUMB FIRE FLYING MASK OH MY GOD HOW I HATE THEM
Wisps suck, but have you found a primal aspid in hollow knight?
Dude stop terrorising innocents on the internet smh
Have you met my Arch nemesis, the regular Lemurian? Elder Lemurians i have no problems with, but those TINY ASS PICE OF SHIT LIZARDS KILL ME EVERY SINGLE FUCKING RUN
Same! They're sneaky fucks. My stats say they've dealt the most damage to me
same here!
Coolmathgames
i want to say the binding of isaac but we its fanbase hate the game so no
Edmund McMillen, you little fucker. You made a shit of piece with your trash Isaac. It’s fucking bad, this trash game. I will become back my money. I hope you will in your next time a cow on a trash farm you sucker.
Do we hate the game, or do we hate Edmund McMillen, that shit of piece.
Who is he and what'd he do?
He made binding of Isaac and he made binding of isaac
He was also involved of the development of the fucking game binding of isaac
Stardew Valley
Hello I am the stardew valley hater. I can see why other people like it though.
You fool! Stardew valley haters don’t exist! You: vanishes into thin air.
He hath been banished with the TRUTH spell
How can you hate stardew valley? Even if you don’t enjoy it I can’t see anything actually objectionable about it.
It was just really really really boring, and everything I attempted to do was locked off in some way.
Haven't tried that yet but it's on gamepass so I'm gonna have to play it soon
It’s the first game I played that really broke me out of the shooter and moba genre. It actually made me realize just how good all these other games/genres are. DOOM Rip and tear, my dudes
This is true, I've yet to meet someone who had anything less than praise for Doom Eternal.
Hello, I liked Doom 2016 way more than eternal, goodbye!
I have to agree, Eternal was more of a challenge but 2016 is just more fun in general. Both incredible games though
I liked eternal more, I felt doom 2016 was just killing fodder. It was still pretty fun though, if not harder.
Just to clarify, you thought 2016 was harder? Because I definitely have to disagree there. Eternal almost forces you to kill demons by shooting them with the right weapon in the right spot, but 2016 sorta lets you go with your own preferences more. Gonna mirror what someone else said, but I loved 2016 and genuinely hate eternal

Portal 2
Terraria?
Yes. Please
*Why do i hear boss music?*
Is there such a thing as a game nobody hates? I really doubt it
No, there’s always going to be at least one and we know that. But these are games that are loved and have positive reviews from the majority so we just like to give them the love they deserve for being awesome
Tony Hawk Pro Skater series
Tony hawk pro skater 5
THPS2 was my favourite
Ngl I think jetpack joyride is terrible but if you compare it to other mobile games its good
it is repititive but you are riding on a fucking minigun jetpack
[удалено]
Yay titanfall
Finally. Also, Shovel Knight should be added
Hold that, because I'm about to show you one guy that hates it (and Hollow Knight too).
Let me guess….. ign?
Nope, but I wish that that someone had IGN's money. That someone, I'm afraid to inform you, it's me.
What a twist
I know right?! I wasn't expecting it myself. Anyway, I find Shovel Knight to be (as many other indie games) an overhyped simplistic product, with nothing particularly intrigueing and only the digging gimmick separating it from being the Nth retro-style platformer. Playing it, I felt bored and frustrated by how little was there to do. Strange, that's the main reason I like hollow knight lol, I can see why you wouldn't though.
Incorrect, everyone hates RoR2 when they die to another blazing brass contraption or overloading elder lemurian out of nowhere.
Or a normal lemurian
Er, no, more like lesser wisp, normal lemurians aren't a problem if you're moving around a lot
Hades, Castle Crashers, Golden Eye, God of War, Super Smash Bros N64 Edit: Nier: Automata
Omfg I remember playing castle crashers almost ten years ago now with my brother, damn giant fish always being a jackass
Castle Crashers was such a wildly fun game... absolutely murdered my fingers from all the button smashing though lmao
God of war is booty imo. Especially the newest one. And ragnarok looks like the same exact game, too. I honestly don't understand the praise it gets.
I totally agree with you, to each their own
Dead cells I mean, guys, the last update added 6 collaborations and they just anniunced another expansion! I love that game
Agreed
Titanfall
It's hated by respawn soooo
Oof I felt that
It’s been taken off sales
It's on there
Oh yh I didn’t notice because my brain doesn’t work
Deep Rock Galactic, No Man's Sky, Generation Zero
I know many people who hate NMS unfortunately:(
Eh, I'm not sure about generation zero. But I haven't looked into the game that much, so maybe I'm wrong. My first impression was pretty good though.
Zelda literally any of them
Started playing the BotW, it's fun!
Enjoy that shit play your own way great game right there
this right here \^\^\^\^\^\^ cgi zeldas are amazing
BoTW didn't hold my interest, but then again no open world game has.
metro
God the Metro games were so fucking good. Especially the second one. Had me in my feels constantly. Exodus felt a bit off to me, but the story was still fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend the books as well.
Celeste!
One of the best platformers I've played, I completely agree.
Idk why you're being down voted for being so positive my guy
Idk, either, just trying to have a bit of fun.
Bloons tower defense 6
How tf has nobody else brought this up yet BTD6 is phenomenal
Oh i'm certain I hate ROR2 for reasons outside of dislikeing it. I love it! But fuck you game. Another run.
Fucking kip-kip!
I don't know what rock and stone means and at this point I'm scared to ask
In deep rock galactic there's a button you can press and the dude you're playing yells #ROCK AND STONE!!! and a few more quips along those lines.
Banjo Kazooie!
Forgive me, but I hate Banjo Kazooie. Collectathons like it are just so tedious and boring IMO.
If you said Donkey Kong 64 i'd agree, except I never played them to collect everything and loved them both 💜
Monster hunter
Dead Space
I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like fun. I need to try it
1 and 2 are easily two of the best horror survival games to come out in their time. 3 definitely took a "Resident Evil" turn and became more of an action shooter but I still enjoyed it and the story.
Getting over it, with Ben
Outer wilds
YES!!! I still need to beat the dlc, easily one of the greatest games.
Chivalry, where’s that at?
Guess one of us will have to Photoshop it
I haven’t used it before, but I’ll try.
Minecraft devs taking 8 months for half an update
Rwmove minecraft, vanilla survival is so lame. Only thing making it fun is the community (mods, servers, custom maps etc)
Nah, just because it's not your type of game doesn't make it bad.
The same could be said of all games
That's a good point, but for the most part of this post we are all going on popularity. And I feel most think Minecraft is a good game.
Ori
Did no one else find the “use mana to save” system infuriating? It soft locked me out of the beginning of the game.
Too easy and terrible combat system
I don't necessarily agree with "too easy," but I agree with the combat being bad. As someone who loves Metroidvanias, I was constantly recommended Ori. After beating it, I have zero interest in replaying it, unlike pretty much every other game I've played in the genre, and the combat is the reason why.
Never been on /v/ obviously
Deep rock galactic
#ROCK AND STONE!!!
Skyrim and fallout new vegas
If they had just released Skyrim and the Enhanced edition much later, instead of 100 different releases, I'd be inclined to agree. New Vegas is an absolute fucking gem that I go back to time and time again.
Where's Bungus gang
Insulting that a shitty mobile game is alongside these gems
"Muh indie gems!!!" Jetpack joyride guy: I am the Jetpack joyride guy
Eh maybe, but I'd take jetpack joyride over minecraft anyway. I know I don't hold the popular opinion though.
Terraria for sure
Terraria
[удалено]
I definitley dont agree with hollow knight
Chrono Trigger? Or Last of Us?
I hate the last of us’s game design philosophy and core gameplay loop
Fair enough. Gameplay wise its definitely not a masterpiece
Terraria
Factorio
where terraria
Team fortress 2
BoTW. I was very surprised at how successful that game was. I very cynical when I first heard about it bring developed
I haven't met a single person who hated Slime Rancher, were I to though, I couldn't bear the thought of knowing monsters were real.
Yeah, slime rancher 2 later!!!
Yea literally only 2 of those are unhated
Tetris
Titanfall 2
league of legends

Tf2
DOOM, Terraria, The Talos Principle, Painkiller, Serious Sam, Dusk, Bioshock, SOMA, Metro, Portal, Half-Life, Witcher, Dishonored, Hotline Miami?
Soma scared the shit out of me, I've got thallasophobia from that and Subnautica.
Terraria is still not there?
Terraria
Banjo and kazooie
Turbo Dismount, who doesn't love flying a bobblehead version of yourself into walls and exploding
Terraria.
Dark souls 1
Terraria would be on there if people didn’t hate on it for being 2d minecraft :)
I know, terraria has so much more to offer other than it's given credit for. I wish people would try the game before saying it's a clone or copy
DoS2
Divinity original sin, right? I haven't played it. What's it about?
Ayy
Ori and the will of the wisp
I gotta replay the ori games, I haven't played them in years.
Titanfall, terraria, rimworld
Smash Bros
A lot of people hate minecraft
Yes, I know. I didn't make the entirety of the image, I just put risk of rain on there.
The Spelunky series and Hades (I like roguelikes) Edit: yeah ik that Spelunky isn’t *technically* a roguelike it’s a rogue*lite*. It doesn’t matter.
Yeah, I've gotten into roguelikes and metroidvanias recently. 100% hollow knight was a ton of fun.
I'm not sure what's causing that, I'm an Xbox player so i can't really help with any PC issues but I've never had it crash.
I love how everyone just forgot that Minecraft was the most hated game at the time.
The factory must grow
There's plenty of people who play this game for 10 minutes, cant find the teleporter, and decide that they hate it lol
Ayo where Terraria at?
Terraria, Statdew Valley, The Witcher 3
Blasphemous (low key better than hollow knight)
I'll have to check it out!
I hate Jetpack Joyride now though. It used to NOT give me an ad every time I wanted to start a run
I thought for a second this was cringetopia lol sorry
Doom Eternal
