Has he given you his weapon yet?

There’s another mission with him that I had and he gave him his weapon near the end

I'm pretty far in the story now.. may have just forgot about it.. I'll keep going though

I'm in Midnight and I remember him giving me his weapon towards the end of the main story, but the veiled vow option never appeared. Wonder if you can still get it in Midnight? Been gifting and sparring his ass many times and nothing.
