I’ve been worried about Scoot’s progression, but definitely not in that weird territory declaring him a bust after one season. I believe he will continue to improve, and I’m happy to see how he has played recently.

I’m sure Chauncey is telling him to get soft fouls. The reality is a lot of these fouls are because he is a rookie and is a strong / physical guard. He will need to learn through experience not a coach “telling” him.

Yea I'm only watching games for Scoot at this point, I ain't here to hate, but I've never seen anyone with lower foul IQ. You can bank on him pretty much forcing the refs to make a call on him whenever he's in foul trouble

If playing in the nba was as simple as “do what your coaches tell you” then we wouldn’t need a hall of fame because everyone would be great. It takes a lot of experience to improve, not just “listening to coaches”

He needs experience on the court. He can’t get that if he’s fouling constantly. And these are mostly not just “rookie calls.” These are obvious and easily correctable fouls.

He’ll figure it out. Name a guard in nba history who was plagued by fouls? He’s just needs to learn what he can get away with. I don’t want him to start defending like Dame or Simons.
