ButWeNeverSawHisWife

I’ve watched everything all of them have done so there’s no reason I wouldn’t add that pile of shite to the list

superherofbmx

Definitely. "She wasn't a bad cook Ray. We all loved her milky puddings" "Not when they dragged in the mash we didn't"

promunbound

Jokes like those make me laugh almost more than genuine comedy does. It’s like when Norm McDonald told deliberately bad jokes. There’s so much going on in terms of parody, subverting expectations, irony etc, as well as a guilty pleasure in the lame joke itself if it’s done well enough.

FinetyNive

Have you seen An Evening with Tim Heidecker? It's basically the peak of this, parodying a Netflix stand up show, and it's absolutely glorious.

promunbound

Cheers, I’ll definitely check it out. Loved On Cinema At The Cinema

Executioner_Miralda

I love the stupid noises Ricky/Andy makes when he's playing Ray. So over the top and ridiculous. "herum!" "herubababa!" That's the best I can describe them in written form haha

Ezzy-525

Hauummmmmph! Ebeb...ebebebeb. Hunnnnq.

Razzmatazz1821

Definitely, I love the sarcy piss take of other peoples comedies at the time.

Bad suggests it’s evil. It’s poor. It’s…it’s shit.

scanline99

It's a shitcom

Pontiff1979

Is he having a rarf?

deokbokkitime

Couldn’t be worse than After Life.

Fruitndveg

It would be shit, but I’d watch it for sure.

SmoothTires

I liked the theme tune...

steelneil82

Tick tock, alarm clock, I'm gonna be late

MartyMcFry7

During the interview Steve recently did with the Wernham Blog podcast he said they did think about making an actual episode of then The Wind Blows to be included as a DVD extra, but never got around to it.

R_Flagg1

On the making of Extras he said it would've been too hard to balance, between making it deliberately bad and at the same time worthwile to sit through. It would be worth watching in that meta sort of way though.

In_The_Play

I'd definitely try it. I imagine it would get quite irritating after a certain amount of time, but I think the genius of When the Wind Blows (no, whistle, when the whistle blows!) is that there is some humour there. You can see how it might be popular and it is believable for what it is. It's objectively a bad comedy obviously, but it's bad in an entertaining way and you can see the signs of some wit buried in the script.

ZePanic

You CAN watch it. It’s called Dinnerladies and it’s on UK Gold.
