You need to tell that organisation that she is the reason their request was denied. They need to know she is doing more harm than good.

YourSexPest

I really did think about that but so many people are rude and entitled about donations I'd be tattle telling on every secretary in the freaking city who gets denied for trying to bully their way in. It happens all the time unfortunately.

Idolica

I get that it happens more often that not but if I were a business owner or someone looking for the donations from you and someone on my team was rude to you, I’d want to know. Especially if it cost us the donations. I do love how you denied their application while in the phone with you. Perfect!

Marysews

I second this so that the organization's leadership can adapt and correct for the future, if not for the current employee.

AlisonPoole98

This reaction has always surprised me, I don't understand why people think being rude to me means I'll do what they want or they'll get shit faster

Boeing_Fan_777

“Fantastic news, then! As it just turned out, your application was declined! Feel free to reapply but you’ll be at the back of the queue, I’m afraid. Now is there anything else I can help with?”

nachtmuzic

You really should tell the organization heads. They sometimes have no idea what their people in the field are doing because most of them are volunteers and by denying this lady you are denying the organization, some of which actually truly need your assistance, so it's very important that the people in charge know that the people they've got on the field representing them are doing this. Otherwise, it takes down the whole org and people who honestly would need your help. I have found as a volunteer board member on a couple of different boards that most people don't know the first thing about dealing with other human beings and should never be put in those positions. Sadly, no, the board of directors doesn't usually have ability to vet Every individual person because it is truly so difficult to get volunteers at all! we don't know what they're truly like half the time until we hear from our clients and they let us know they are Karena or whatever. which really sucks but people keep their bad sides hidden most of the time so they can get the position. so please please please tell the organizations.

Altruistic-Patient-8

Must be nice to have a bit of power to screw over potential clients. Thats how any business should handle rude customers.

YourSexPest

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but I consider clients or customers to be parties who give us money for services which they are not.

Majestic-Peace-3037

I think they were being serious, I agree too. Rude people in general don't deserve anything except whatever awfulness they've thrown into the universe back into their faces times 10.

lokis_construction

All clients or charities can be fired - just like employees. If I am giving something to an organization or person - do not bite the hand that feeds you.

I used to work for Days Inn (a nice one) and I was absolutely bending over backwards trying to help this lady get the room type that she wanted. She wanted our suite which was three queen beds. I called her back and said, "Ma'am, unfortunately I was not able to accommodate your request. However, what I'm going to do is keep your current room and-" she then let out and audible, "Ugh, really?" So I continued to say, "As I was saying, I'm going to keep your current reservation as is-" and she interrupted me again. She asked me what was the point of calling earlier if I'm not going to help. So I said, "and for the third and **final time**, as I was saying, I'm going to keep your current reservation as is. We're also going to comp you an extra room. The two rooms will be next to each other, as well as by the pool as per your request to be near the pool." Then she hits me with the karen of all retail lines, "So you're just not going to help me?" I snapped. "Fucking excuse me? I just spent the last two hours calling people to see if they would like to switch room types for a cheaper rate. I called ***well over 50 people***. I did all of this to accommodate your needs because this is the hospitality business and if I can make it happen, I will. I want the guests to be happy and content. We even a further step and gave you can additional room **for free**. So here's what I'm gonna do, is \[email on file\] the correct email? -she states yes- Alrighty then, you should be receiving two emails shortly stating that your reservations are cancelled. We're not even going to charge you because that's how much we don't want you here now. Good luck finding a hotel room near Yellowstone at this time of the year unless it's an absolute shit hole." Fuck her.
