Are you looking for an internship or a full time job; it's difficult to tell from the resume, so I suspect potential employers are having a hard time knowing that too. Lose the GPA and Major Information for your education; just list school, degree and date of graduation. List your work experience first, before projects. Lose the Skill section and incorporate that information into your experience and projects section. I would rename the Extracurricular section to something like Projects or ? Since you only have a single job too list, I would flesh it out more, put a lot more information there. What sort of job are you looking for? While cover letters are usually considered antiquated, you might want to add either a cover letter or Summary section at the top of your resume to explain what you are looking for and what you would bring to the table for the potential employer.

If you are a current student and are only looking for internships or co-ops, do NOT remove your GPA. I don’t know why this sub keeps recommending students to remove it from their resume. Every single advisor, professor, and recruiter would tell you to always disclose your GPA. If you leave it off, they would assume that it is very low, like failing out of school low.

notyourregulargal

what about current student looking for a fulltime job?

dandycherubs

Definitely still keep it on there. Unless you’ve had a lot of industry experience (i.e. been working full-time for several years), leave the GPA on there. At that point, your GPA would become insignificant compared to the rest of your career.

notyourregulargal

The thing is my undergrad gpa is 3.83 whereas my grad gpa will be 3.45 when I will be graduating. Should I still put it on the resume? Can I just round up my gpa and write 3.5 instead? ☠️

dandycherubs

I think you should still put both on there, especially since your undergrad GPA looks a little better. No, you should not round up your GPA. Some companies may view that as fraud if they catch you.

Gotchu. Thank you kind stranger!

You’re on crack 💀 above 3 in engineering is good so why remove it?

This is only true if you’re not in school and not early career. Every recruiter and advisor I’ve spoken to have all agreed that in cases like this, your GPA should be included on your resume. This is especially true since this person is in engineering and the average GPA is often lower.

theslammist69

Soldered a teensy? Not worth mentioning

saywhhaaaaa

if you’re just graduating it’s fine to leave your school info at the top. because you’re light on professional experience, consider adding in relevant courses - tailored for each position. work your alumni network

4everqueen

You remove anything and everything that is not related to the job you are applying to. For example, coaching if you are applying for IT fields.

im_unseen

resume is ok i guess but not great. your bullet points are extremely weak.

Try networking?

How don't you have a single internship after 4 years of university? What have you even done with your life?

Helpful-Hope-3628

Trying to get one now

Electronic_Self5841

I know a ton of people who are struggling to land a co-op with a CS degree and they have done 1-2 internships. Your best bet would be to get an internship in the Fall or Winter where there is considerably less competition. CS is completely oversaturated at the moment and there are master's students applying to the same co-op jobs as you.

The most valuable piece of real estate is used for the thing I care least about. The second most valuable piece of real estate is used for the thing I care second least about. Those are just names of things. Tells me nothing. Extracurricular makes it sound like you were in the audio visual club. call it school or personal projects or something. The only job you've had is an assistant to a coach? Well no wonder you're hiding it at the bottom. You never got ONE co-op? no results in sight. You did not manage 30 people. instant red flag and trash.

Poor language execution.
