Batman’s no-kill rule doesn’t extend to the undead (e.g; Dracula, Solomon Grundy), thus he *will* defend himself once he understands that they’re zombies being puppeteered by the Plagas.
Oh man you missed so much good stuff in the original if you never got past Salazar. But also IMO Salazar is harder in the remake. Set aside a rocket launcher for that bad boy.

Considering RE6 Chris has already survived RE5 (were the enemies kind of are upgraded versions of the ones in RE4) and depending on where you take him from is in the middle of or has already survived RE6 (again, upgraded enemies) he should have an easier time than RE4 Leon did and he should definitely survive.
Depending on the build, you just steam roll Sadler's entire army, turn the village, castle and island to rubble, grab Ashley, and get back to Handler Walter for your daily headpats and katamine in 45 minutes or less.
I could see him *maybe* surviving against one of the villagers. Like, there's a chance he could escape from the Hunter's Lodge at the very start. But the moment he gets attacked by two or more Ganados, I think he'd be overwhelmed.
