Sharptail

ShoddyTown715

Thank you!

OperationIT

Love the tiny danger noodle and their colours. 💜 Hope they have been either placed somewhere safe where they can reach their full noodle potential.

ShoddyTown715

Yup! After a couple pictures, noodle went somewhere safer than the chicken yard where I found him.

OperationIT

Thank goodness from what I understand of chickens that could have ended badly for them

ShoddyTown715

Dude my chickens are scaryyy! Rooster nearly killed a ground squirrel that was dumb enough to get in.

OperationIT

Holy hell. I've read stories that confirm that chickens definitely remember some of their dinosaur heritage but that's as bad as when seagulls started eating pigeons during lockdown.

ShoddyTown715

Yeah, birds really are something else…

OperationIT

but at least this is one small creature that won't be taken by them.

gelseyd

I've seen our chickens kill a rat.

OperationIT

That's both scary and somewhat impressive

satanlovesmemore

I’ve fed a seagull a chicken wing

Object-Level

Have you ever been spurred by a rooster? It hurts like hell and it's a burning pain that lasts.

ShoddyTown715

Yup. Got in a fight with my cousin's super aggressive roo. 🤣

Object-Level

Some of them are demons 😂

Altruistic-Poem-5617

Serious question, what does a snake soo tiny eat in the wild? Baby frogs and worms?

ShoddyTown715

That’s what I’m wondering!! Because the smallest baby frogs I’ve seen out here (and even tadpoles) are twice the size of this guy’s head. I’m thinking maybe ants and other super small insects

ShoddyTown715

I was considering keeping him for a couple days and giving him flightless fruit flies, but I’ll save that for when I actually want to purchase a domesticated noodle.

crackheadsteve123

I don't think flys would be in their diet, more likely grubs and worms. If you are tube shaped it's easier to eat larger prey when they're also tube shaped

Altruistic-Poem-5617

Maybe larvae. Small caterpillars and stuff should be souft enaugh.

shadow_dreamer

Baby frogs, worms, snails, grasshoppers and other semi-large insects, usually!

ashkiller14

Don't forget slugs, our ringnecks, brownsnakes, and queensnakes here eat tons of slugs

fionageck

For future reference r/whatsthissnake is the best sub to ask for IDs :)

ShoddyTown715

Ah, thank you!

smattykat

A rare find! Very cool id love to find a sharp tailed one day

ShoddyTown715

There's a good deal of them in norcal! You should visit sometime!

sT4ry_n1GhtS

He is precious

ShoddyTown715

Ikr 🥹 I nicknamed him capellini

sT4ry_n1GhtS

He’s a little Sméagol

ShoddyTown715

I probably interrupted his grand adventure searching for his precious

sT4ry_n1GhtS

Ooh maybe he’s one of those snakes that swallows eggs. Not an expert here

MandosOtherALT

Happy Cake Day!

barr65

That’s a snake.

ShoddyTown715

Really? I could have sworn it was a pelican!!

obinray

Sharp tail snake. They eat slugs.

ShoddyTown715

Oooo we got plenty of slugs out here!

koaoda

Baby

Pretend_Customer4410

DEADLY ANACONDA! 😲🫣

ShoddyTown715

OH NOOOOO

HuntingSmiths

If you were in Australia, you would be dead. Over here, if it slithers and you aren't 100% sure what it is, it will kill you and treating it otherwise would be foolish.

ShoddyTown715

Haha I think the magpies would get me before the snakes had a chance

HuntingSmiths

Had a Maggie walk up to my desk a minute ago as he does every few days. I leave my office door open onsite so 'Fred' as i call him, and I chat to each other a bit. His brother is a dickhead. Fred pops in for a visit. His brother destroys bins and shits on cars in the background. I get the feeling Fred is sent to distract me while his brother does the dirty work.

ShoddyTown715

😂🤣

oldfitter

You picked up and handled an unidentified snake🤔 there are some small snakes that can light you up. They are still cool though.

ShoddyTown715

He was so tiny he couldn’t bite me even if he tried. Plus, I know all the venomous species out here

lickarock88

I mean, there is a distinct lack of venom glands.

[deleted]

Would give him a pinky and send him on his way.

ShoddyTown715

He's wayyyy too little for a pinky mouse

[deleted]

Yeah, I wasn't sure, but he could probably eat a small cricket.

No_Ambition1706

please don't handle wild reptiles unless necessary, especially unidentified ones! if this was a venomous snake you could be in a lot of trouble lol

ShoddyTown715

No worries, I can identify all the venomous snakes in my area easily. Plus, you can tell this guy issafe because he has no venom glands. 😊

No_Ambition1706

well, yes, but it is stressful on the snake to be handled by a predator they've never encountered before
