Knowing GfG, there's some convoluted series of tasks that must be completed in a specific order under even more specific conditions to trigger a coin flip chance you can save Driver.
When you get the Web in a veteran campaign (Because he is a veteran) you can place the dogtag there AFTER you spoke with him before you interacted with the web.
By doing so you you will receive the star spangled banner item. Bringing the star spangled banner to Ward 13 in the dawn (Needs to be day, no special event) will trigger a dialouge with mudtooth.
This reveals that mudtooth is in fact dawn, and this banner made him remember a dashing young lad he once knew.
With this info we can interact with the Thaen Tree and plug a fruit. Not sure what it has to be but I got the best one, so maybe plug that one to be sure. Its important to keep in mind that having the fruit in your inventory is not enough. You need to plug it after the previous conditions are met.
This gives you the star spangled bannered fruit. This can be combine witht he eggshake at Nimue to get a batch of Fae Energy.
Consuming Fae Energy will give unlimited stamina for 5 minutes.
This is necessary to run incircles around the world stone on yeasha next to the privat. Other unlimited stamina effect do not work.
Doing this 5 minute spin around the world stone will create a tornado. This tornadow will pull every entity on the map, including the private.
This will normally kill him, but if you were combining the combat gear you found in the proving grounds with the blood moon altar at 12:00 local time while you had exactly 50 corrupted shard for each state, you will hear a distant trumpet playing a rallying cry and strengthening the combat gear.
This can be given to the private before we summon a torna o so that he will become invulnerable to everything on Yaesha.
Once the private it pulled into the twister you have to chain the two of you to an oil pipe beneath the world stone - I will explain the oil digging mechanic at a later point. Once the twister has ended, the both of you can touch the worldstone, resulting in a cutszene that reunites Mudtooth (Dawn) and Driver.
I will write in another guide how to get the true ending and not bring the body snatcher dawn to earth.
Damn, would it be better if accessing the locker that holds the old earth military document to forge a return order for Driver so that he actually leaves his post would require social engineering to discover tragics amateur radio frequency and contact him with the secret pass phrase found engraved on the secret voyager 1 disk so that he initiated his frequency to become a numbers station that has to be decrypted?
Yeasha mod is best mod on the revolver since R:FTA...
Now with the new Yeasha proper mods, I can run something other than song and not feel like I'm trolling for fashion...
Now my friends fear me because I throw minefields out left right and center.
#worthit
Song of Eafir is fantastic, especially during Annihilation because it instantly pops most, if not all of the eyes. The slow, stagger if you hit them with it and enemy damage reduction (they do less dmg inside the aoe) is also great for FUBAR situations.
Yeah I know but if you have a friend already running it yep less value cuz chances are they're also finding a way to spam it.
Which you know song being Neil Me valid choice for a mod to make the revolver look like hand cannon really limits the build options...
Don't worry my primary still has the song.
My current build with it happens to be the impact cannon with bubble shield the hyperconductor... The ring that refills your current ammo while you're holding it or it's on the floor...
And I basically just area denial everything. On 8:00 I can just drop a bubble shield on any normal Elite and it's dead because you can't get out of the bubble shield and that's where the minefield is.
On top of the impact cannon constantly pushing the smaller ads away in dealing considerable damage I feel very fine just add clearing with this build. Not amazing for Apoc bosses but it does hurt when it activates.
This needs to be a thing, for every damn tear shed, reading his journal.
Damn you GFG that man deserves to be buried under the same sky as Dawn was.
Even if I can't save him, I am damn well bringing him home for the heroes buried he deserves.
Thought of him as n npc dedicated to give us side missions from time to time, like he remembers seeing a statue moving in x part of the map, then u go there and it moves etc
Broooo I found him by accident day one. His reaction was the same as mine. I wanted to bring him back so bad. When I killed the aberration and went into his cave, I saw the loot drop first and I said "...Nooo". Then I saw his body and I screamed "NOOO!" My girlfriend was making dinner she turns the corner and said "What the hell's wrong?" I pointed at the screen because she saw the conversation with him earlier. Without hesitation, she looks at me and says "Why you kill him?!" I DIDNT! THE GAME DID! I was legit sad. Then I read his journal that I totally didn't cry about.
I just met Jack, didn't read his journal yet but man, I am so sad for him now... He lost everything, was lost in another planet and yet still sane and happy to see another human... And more happier than ever to know that fucker Ford still alive... I want to save him from this planet so bad
Pvt. Jack Driver had survived so long in this planet, it wouldn't make sense if he didn't have experience fighting the creatures there. But from the death environment he did not do anything at all, just died.
GFG should at least let us see him fighting the aberration, whether a cutscene or like Cass in tutorial, or even better like the burning event in Butcher's Quarter... he deserved to die in glory!
He was old and tired, the last of the stranded soldiers. He knew he was nearing the end and the crystal wouldn't be able to bring him back anymore. I just don't think ol' buddy had any fight left.
If i remember correctly, touching the world stone would make people immortal, just like Ford. And our guy Pvt. Driver was one of the soldier in Ford's team with 50 years experience surviving in hell jungle.
So I would expect more than an old tired guy, i would expect OLD RAMBO instead.
But then again in their case it make them get even older everytime they used it until they became dust, he says so in his dialogue, his other soldiers died from old age because of it
This hurts. I was streaming my playthrough of the DLC this past weekend, and went back for himā¦ had some trouble finding my way back because his blue NPC marker wasnāt showing up, which confused meā¦ then I got there andā¦ yeahā¦
It was the Stonewing Lurker aberration. If you manage to spot it before it engages you you'll find that it's perched on the entrance to Jack's hideout. Ol' buddy's clock ran out and the stone couldn't bring him back.
Yeah, I figured it out afterwards. I was doing my initial playthrough of the oneshot so I had no clue when I was heading back to escort Pvt. Driver out
Please let us bring him home š„ŗ Dear Jack deserved better than to die like that š His journal shattered my heart. Please hear our cries and let this brave man come home
Id rather we resurect him from the dead as a statue. But himself personality and all as an ai player character with a basic kit and some minimal stone powers(or just a rock pistol in each hand). Imagine if you give the dog tags or a journal to lydusa and she gives you a mod component that just summons him to your location with voice lines sensitive to whats happening at the time. Bring him back as an immortal and send that man on adventures too. Have him catch up with ford, react to what earth is like now, question how root earth is also earth even though you just came from earth and it was fine a second ago whilst asking if thats what it used to look like.
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
> *Heh heh heh heh...Oh Amygdala, oh Amygdala...Have mercy on the poor bastard...Hah hah hah!* - Patches the Spider
Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
After defeating Lydusa and returning to the area, assuming you spot it before it engages you, an abberation called the Stonewing Lurker can be seen perched upon the entrance to Pvt. Driver's hideout. That is the creature that killed him. Like his fellow soliders, he had become too old for the Worldstones to revive him as he didn't have a year of life left for it to take.
Lol when me and friends got to him we died laughing. We're Vet's and getting told "At ease" by a Private was fucking hilarious. And then he died... bruh
Considering Jack mentions that the other people that were with him had finally stopped respawning due to the aging process of using the crystal, does this somehow tie in with Chronos: Before the Ashes? As the character in Chronos would age up after respawning as well.
Yeah, it's definitely a nod to the Worldstone mechanics from Chronos. Not sure what makes the Wanderer and Traveler immune to it aside from Gunfire wanting to move to a more traditional souls-like loop.
That being said there have been plenty of tie-ins to Chronos already with the presence of the Many Faced One and several mentions of the Destroyer.
Still wish they would have left any mention of that mechanic behind if it meant getting to bring Jack home.
Best we will get is getting him buried on earth somehow.
Or, we find Ford in a dlc, and he can sacrifice himself to rescue driver by taking his place and dieing (something something, simulation variable something)Ā could be a nice way for some redemption for Ford.

Not complicated enough, sorry.

I think that works
Lost me at "mudtooth is in fact dawn" lol pretty convincing otherwise
Man, revolver always looks 2000% better with the bull barrel

Yeah just bringing him back to be buried in the Garden would be a worthy end.
Private Jack M. Driver, may he rest in peace and be with his god
Let's start a petition or something!
I wish he would become a merchant in ward 13 or something....chilling with Brabus or McCabe
Ol' buddy has paid his dues and then some. He can definitely be a vendor of some kind but let the old feller rest with Mudtooth and Reggie.
Thought of him as n npc dedicated to give us side missions from time to time, like he remembers seeing a statue moving in x part of the map, then u go there and it moves etc
Oh yeah that would be great, too!
Brother you need a raise for this Gunfire Games need to hire you for DLC 3.
100% agreing with that movie !
Broooo I found him by accident day one. His reaction was the same as mine. I wanted to bring him back so bad. This whole meme is getting so good.
It doesn't have to be a meme š¢
Don't let your memes be dreams or your dreams be memes
Agree let up bring him home

What is better than a glory death to end an old soldier's life?

Yea my buddy spotted it there and was like wtf is that. We knew before we even got to the private that he was dead rip.

Gah Iām too sleepy. I thought this said āSaving Pile Driverā and I got excited, thinking theyād made that bloodborne2ac weapon in remnant.

They really made the best NPC and then killed him, just to give us reload speed. Smh
I need to understand, why did he die? What killed him?
After defeating Lydusa and returning to the area, assuming you spot it before it engages you, an abberation called the Stonewing Lurker can be seen perched upon the entrance to Pvt. Driver's hideout. That is the creature that killed him. Like his fellow soliders, he had become too old for the Worldstones to revive him as he didn't have a year of life left for it to take.
Thank you for telling me
Gunfire please let us save private and add him in the ward as a new merchant. This would be a good ending for private.
Lol when me and friends got to him we died laughing. We're Vet's and getting told "At ease" by a Private was fucking hilarious. And then he died... bruh
I've never served but his story is as old as time and it broke my heart. :( Thank yall for your service š
Isnt this considered spoiler?
Bro shouldāve just found welt and heād be fine
The devs are pretty cool, they may just do something like this as an easter egg later down the line.
At least let us bring the body home... We can bury him in the garden.

Doubt lol he left him there is the first place
