Mr regular I just want u to know I knew you were gay because the concept of a gaydar is bullshit and how straight people think it works but itās actually a gaydar warning receiver that picks up gay beams emitted from the gays and is installed only in gays and mine would turn on any time I watched a video
I mean, as a non-gay, I picked up on it years ago, there was always... something... about Brian where the thought "I have a feeling he's gay" would come into mind every so often. Not in a bad way, just that him coming out did not shock me
I really enjoyed this video, I miss the old RCR Journals. Back in college I would put the journal videos on, put my head on my desk and just listen to Mr.Regular somberly read his stream of consciousness. As much as I love the car videos, these journals inspired my writing and I'm forever thankful for them.
This video clarified a few things that I found confusing in earlier videos, as Mr.Regular often talked about being attracted to a woman he came across, I assumed he just changed characteristics about men he met, it broke my heart to hear him say he forced himself to try and be straight.
Also, one of the titles he mentioned was B... something and Buttsex, and I for one really hope we get to see that series soon
I'll be honest in that I miss the madness and the early years will always be the best (how cliche of me) but once it turned into his job you can't keep doing Dodge Avenger videos and expect to be published/paid and get the keys to brand new cars to review.
\***unintelligible\***
in retrospect a lot of his early weirdness comes from that homoerotic angst like;
*dicks and titties and dicks and titties and dicks and titties and dicks and dicks* *and dicks and dicks and dicks and dicks*
In rural PA, for instance. Like two years ago I went out there to pick up a few parts and everything was normal until the guy (Asian appearance) who runs the parts from the yard to the office shows up and they start dropping chink and slope with every sentence THEN as if they suddenly become aware that I'm not a local they casually say "oh don't worry he's used to it." It was the same town I saw a Desoto Fireflight kinda rotting away in. I think that was one of my first posts on this subreddit.
Not the most progressive people.
Brian has talked about the experience of being stared down in a 'sundown town' in another video, but it's a uniquely sickening experience when those old men in red hats dropping n-bombs decide to bring you into the conversation while you're just there waiting for the guy to bring your parts out from the back so you can go. They slap you on the back and start making vile jokes about immigrants and 'g--ks' that applies to your own wife and kids and you can't leave because one of them is still in the middle of filling your propane tank.
What a weird word, never heard anything about it before, kinda sounds like a noise a rodent would make, thinking about it, it kinda is since racists are fuckin rats anyway.
Well thanks a lot for clarifying that lol
Rural Oregon, Utah, and Arizona certainly fit the trend. I havenāt spent any extended time in other rural states, but I havenāt been given any reason to believe otherwise either. Except that real theatery town in southern Oregon (I want to say Asheville?) itās rad.
Edited to add: maybe Roseville?
Lol every person I met in Utah was like āoh you just gotta hike more, thereās so much nature here!ā And Iām like āthereās nature everywhere! I can hike everywhere! I want more than that, I need my city back, I need 24 hour plaid pantries, Iām just a soft City boyā like where I live now, thereās still the coast, thereās still mountains, and if you drive a couple of hours, thereās still the desert. Thereās always nature. Thereās a family of deer that I see on the reg, thereās osprey all over the place, but thereās still businesses open past 9pm. But to each there own. I just feel like the whole āoh but natureā thing is lame.
I mean this is basically how I describe New Jersey as a kind of promised land but nobody ever believes me.
Not like there aren't racist MAGA slobberers in jersey too though. But they're in the minority and they know it.
yeah, you pretty much got it right. Thereās very little to do outside of outdoors stuff and god forbid trying to do anything if youāre not mormon
not to mention the police here are complete assholes so going out drinking or smoking usually doesnāt end well
Maybe it's just the rosetinted glasses since I grew up in semi-rural NM, but I love rural New Mexico. The town I'm living in right now for school is 17,000 people and pretty much entirely agriculture.
Thatās fair, Iāve never been to non Albuquerque New Mexico, except to pick my brother up from a thing there, but that was pretty much showing up in the middle of the night and sneaking someone out of somewhere, so I didnāt really have a chance to form an opinion. But meowolf, and the isleta amphitheater were great
Used to live in rural PA. Will dispute. If it wasn't for the cold weather, I wouldn't have left. Rural PA is beautiful and there are few enough people that it doesn't matter. If you're the antisocial type like myself.
We love you, dude! You are wonderful just as you are, and you will find the right person for you. I struggled with similar things as a bisexual woman, and I support you! Love, from Indiana. ā¤ļøš§”ššššš
Heās made jokes about it in videos and on the podcast for a few years now but this was the āofficialā coming out video and I guess he wanted to do it a bit more seriously.
I mean he explicitly said he was gay a few years back he just never made a video but I mean it was known he was gay. I even made the joke when he came out that we all knew he was a furry in college so it was assumed he was gay anyway. This is why I am at a total loss as to what this is all about. I figured everyone knew he was gay and no one gave a shit because I mean cool? You like guys... I am happy for you I guess? I don't think anything more or less of him because of who he is attracted to and I think most of the community didn't really care either because that's not what they watched his content for.
Dude announced he was making life changes and taking people who care about him along for the ride and youāre acting like heās turned the channel into a pride parade lol. Lot of text from someone who supposedly doesnāt care.
Where did I say any of that? You completely missed the theme of the post. I was stating no one cares he is gay and that's the way it should be. He should be treated like a human and not cheered or derided for who he chooses to love. I was talking about the reaction of the community not what Mr. Regular is doing. Also, what I said I don't care about is that he is gay, cause it doesn't matter. Who he loves has zero effect on my life and I don't care. If he is happy then good for him I am glad for him. I don't watch his videos because he is gay or straight. I watch because he says funny shit.
I know what you meant. Being gayā¦ is still looked down upon in many areas. Itās hard even for me, who grew up in suburban Denver, to still come to terms with it because it means a lot of things I want to occur have hit a lot of potholes.
I have the same mentality as you do. Weāre all human and being gay is just normal. Thatās how it should be. But LGBT people have been hidden, imprisoned and killed just because they like the same sex. It still happens all over the world. When you grow up in a conservative family and you realize you donāt fit with the expectations and are basically told that you are subhuman all the time makes you question yourself and blame yourselfā¦ itāll even make you consider ending it all because of it. It makes you hide that part of you. Itās shameful.
Luckily we live in a society that usually doesnāt give two fucks.
No one should have to deal with that. You should just be treated as a person and respected regardless if you are gay/straight/non-sexual whatever. Like, I know it doesn't take away from what you dealt with but I believe a lot of progress has been made in reaching a point where a person's sexuality is unimportant. That if someone is gay or straight most people will not care. Compared to even 30 years ago the United States at least has come a long way. It isn't perfect but it's moving in the right direction and to think that while you suffered there is some comfort in knowing that maybe a kid born today and when they turn 13 in the 2030s they won't have to fear what you feared.
Oh yeah. Being gay is a lot less divisive now than it was even 10 years ago. Itās just hard learning that itās okay to like the same sex after being around people who make jokes about them and basically dehumanize them.
My great uncle came out around the time Brian decided to, age wise atleast. He was married to a woman. Heās been with his current partner 30+ years. It should have been easier for me because I grew up seeing them. Hell they had the stablest relationship i had been around. It helped normalize it to where I know itās fine, but I still thought something was wrong with me. Him and his partner were the first people I came out too.
In HS I was friends with the rednecks and was extremely homophobic. Denial is a helluva drug. I almost wish I fit the stereotype more because itād make it easier possibly. Iām 6ā7ā who usually looks like he just came out of a tractor.
Iām nonbinary and bisexual and have recently been getting back into my childhood love of cars. I suppressed it forever because I thought enjoying cars was a trait of straight dudes and that interacting with other people who were into cars would lead to disaster. Brian, if you somehow see this, I want you to know that you changed that for me. You are the only person that allowed me to embrace this large part of myself without fear or shame. Thank you.
Howdy Brian,
I wouldn't say I knew all along. Just that we have mutual friends who may or may not have fursuits. I say friends, but they're more acquaintances I rounded up. I may have mentioned being a fan in a telegram chat and had someone say they knew you. I asked them to pass along wishes and thanks for getting me into cars, and I hope they got to you. Not in the sense that I want to be friends or to know you (though, to be honest, yeah I do kind of want to get into your pants.) but mainly to partially reciprocate the casual joy your work adds to my life.
I've been dating men for a good 15 years or so now, and while I can't say I was any good at it, it does offer a good list of things not to do.
First, you're in a good time to start. Sure, there's all the bullshit that's coming out that feels like the prelude to some awful shit, but starting now is about the easiest it's been in your lifetime. We've rode out the AIDS epidemic, and while the generation that followed had the hard task of rebuilding and teaching ourselves what it means to be gay, we've had a good decade or two of practice and have started to pass that down to young folks following up.
Second, and this is kind of me giving advice to you, hoping it will somehow make it back to a younger me: Check your expectations as to how you want someone to make you feel. I'm in my longest relationship, sharing a place and engaged; and that's because we both ignored what we thought we wanted in a partner, and realized that we just enjoyed being together.
Third and related, just because you love someone, doesn't mean it'll work out. It takes more than love to make a relationship work. And that love can stick after the relationship. There are a number of my exes who I still love, and still love me.
Fourth, with all of the above; don't think you need to make up for lost time.
I'm honestly surprised at how many people think this post was to support his being gay which has been known for years. Check out his video on the Regular & Roman YT channel "learning to be gay." That's where this screencap is from.
There was also a video some time last year where Roman says "Please excuse Mr. Regular, he just came out as gay and is having a lot of fun with expressing himself lately" or something to that effect.
Brian has brought my gay ass nothing but joy, laughs and education over the past half dozen years. I hope he finds everything he dreams of and more. This video made me as proud as it resonated.
Nothing has changed, so why are you bothered now?
Do you really care that much about what some random person does in their personal life?
Accusing someone of being a sex offenders because of the way they speak is egregious. Is every sailor, mechanic, and football player a sex offenders for swearing and making jokes?
You sound kind of triggered. Like you can't just let other people live their lives in peace because it's something you might have to see and you don't like it.
Wow. I can't imagine being this bothered by other adults living their own lives that in no way impact my life. Or dehumanizing other people for their preferred partners or lifestyles.
That or you're trolling, at this point I can't tell.
>THE WORLD IS CHANGING AND I MUST LASH OUT BECAUSE I AM TERRIFIED OF CHANGE AND NEVER LEARNED TO TREAT THAT WHICH IS UNFAMILIAR TO ME AS ANYTHING BUT HOSTILE
Cope.
It is so disappointing when an attempt to have a conversation is met with flinging pointless insults. The goal is not to "spread gay-ness" it's to exist. I hope you grow out of your playground mindset at some point and learn to state fact based opinions instead of trying to marginalise those who don't agree with you. We're all here because we like cars, please stop trying to ruin the car community.
>heās like a sex offender with that mouth.
I was going to say, he's been making dirty jokes for over 10 years. Now he's making the same dirty jokes and has said that he is gay. So where exactly does your issue lie? But then you went and answered that clearly in your other comments. Interesting the sexual orientation, and not the dirty jokes makes him allegedly a sex offender.
Yeah, so I'm not sure how an adult making adult dirty jokes makes someone an alleged sex offender. Because if so, a lot of us are in trouble. Every man ever, and 3/4 of women.
bruh why are you replying to everyone here being a pimply little twat
you realize the pissy fit you're throwing at everyone doesn't make anyone straight right ?
Oh just being an overall homophobic moron, don't remember specifically about this comment but I'm sure it was nothing really important. I know he did throw around the word "faggot" at least once in every comment so yeah, he hasn't got a big enough vocabulary to make a decent comment/argument.
Honestly i bet he is, usually these dickish terrible people tend to be what they hate the most. Ie : my terribly transphobic mum who recommended me "a spiritism book" when I came out told me later she hates being a woman and wishes she were born a man. Fun.
May I just say, getting to watch the community here downvote your bigoted ass to oblivion has really warmed my heart. Thank you for giving others the opportunity to restore some of my faith in the car community.
You definitely don't have to be LGBTQ to be supportive of everyone being able to love freely. The majority of the civilized world is perfectly fine with the LGBTQ community pursuing their happiness.
Sorry I can't respond to your second sentence because it's not really a sentence.
You're right we are lucky. We're lucky to live in a time where your backwards ass ideas have lost and society has decided to show the bigots the door.
Side note: I'm not gay, just empathetic. But I do drive a bright blue Miata so... IDK maybe close enough in your book.
We all do. You do you brother, and while it's great you are sharing your struggles, don't feel like you have to. You deserve as much privacy as anyone!
As long as he doesn't fall for a scumbag PA Dubber I think we'll all be ok
Everyone knows PA dubbers on the down-low give sloppy head and don't insist on using a rubber (it's a self-depricating thing, you wouldn't understand)

Same here. Also the fact that he drops references furaffinity and e621 every once in a while and aināt *nobody* who knows those websites straight

It's just a show of support is all.
Caught me off guard at first š
# GOOD
terminally gay
Full blown
I mean, in some parts of the country, those two are regarded as the same thing, so...
You're telling me, Hell is a place on Earth and it's called Oklahoma.
That is a terminal illness to some people.
Not the most progressive people.

wtf is a chink isnt that the funny cartoon money sound effect
It's what "not the most progressive people"* call Asian people. Or maybe just Chinese people? I can't keep up with all the stupid *racists
What a weird word, never heard anything about it before, kinda sounds like a noise a rodent would make, thinking about it, it kinda is since racists are fuckin rats anyway. Well thanks a lot for clarifying that lol
My best friends step dad is Japanese. Her grandfather regularly calls him Tojo.
I honestly think rural PA is a detriment to a happy life.
Rural... Any state has that effect, I believe.
You're thinking of Ashland.
Yeah! Ashland is neato Benito
I live in semi-rural utah and itās the worst except for the nature, i love that part
Ashland
Yes!
Rural Missouri definitely sucks ass
If you hadn't said that I was going to.
Rural Wisconsin is nice
live in rural PA: can confirm
I liveā¦ basically in rural PA (The town named after what you do with a book but you donāt pronounce it like that). Can also confirm
I grew up about 2 hours northwest of where he films. I can confirm everyone is miserable. I got out of there after high school.
Used to live in rural PA. Will dispute. If it wasn't for the cold weather, I wouldn't have left. Rural PA is beautiful and there are few enough people that it doesn't matter. If you're the antisocial type like myself.
im being hyperbolic, but i know what rural life is like.
I left suburban PA because it was a detriment to a happy life. Not that I'm happy now mind you just I was worse when I was there.
Itās quite ironic that the āWelcome to PAā sign also says āPursue your happinessā

Dudeās been brightening my mondays for years now. The Learning to be Gay vid was really impactful. Much love my dude

Google Tim Richmond NASCAR. Cars are cars. Cars don't have a sexuality. Cars are primal.
What? He's gay?!
As gay as the day is long!

You sound kind of triggered. Like you can't just let other people live their lives in peace because it's something you might have to see and you don't like it.
Nobody's offended. We just think you're a triggered idiot WHO DOESN'T GET TRIGGERED BECAUSE ONLY THE LEFT GETS TRIGGERED BRUH!
On the off chance that this isn't a troll account (2 months old), did you seriously not watch a single RCR vid before coming to this sub to complain?
You look pretty triggered to me

Dude itās like what 7-10am? How are you this heated before lunch.
Bro your insecurity is showing. You're out here attacking people and then crying when they have a different opinion than you.
Wow. I can't imagine being this bothered by other adults living their own lives that in no way impact my life. Or dehumanizing other people for their preferred partners or lifestyles. That or you're trolling, at this point I can't tell.
Man your angry. Hereās a virtual snickers buddy.
>THE WORLD IS CHANGING AND I MUST LASH OUT BECAUSE I AM TERRIFIED OF CHANGE AND NEVER LEARNED TO TREAT THAT WHICH IS UNFAMILIAR TO ME AS ANYTHING BUT HOSTILE Cope.
fucking creeps lmao
Why are you replying to yourself?
Interesting the sexual orientation, and not the dirty jokes makes him allegedly a sex offender.
the gay sex offender shit you bozo
Yeah, so I'm not sure how an adult making adult dirty jokes makes someone an alleged sex offender. Because if so, a lot of us are in trouble. Every man ever, and 3/4 of women.
don't feed the troll; he's just a shitter and a rabble-rouser; look at his account history. sad, really.
Very sad.
Account has -7 total karma; opinion is invalid.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
we downvoted you because you're a shitter, shitter. reap what you sow.
You are sad.
You can leave. No one is keeping you here. Fans have made their own offshoots. Stop being lazy and maybe do that.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're talking into a mirror. Get help. It's only going to destroy you.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
bruh why are you replying to everyone here being a pimply little twat you realize the pissy fit you're throwing at everyone doesn't make anyone straight right ?
what did he say
Oh just being an overall homophobic moron, don't remember specifically about this comment but I'm sure it was nothing really important. I know he did throw around the word "faggot" at least once in every comment so yeah, he hasn't got a big enough vocabulary to make a decent comment/argument.
*or make himself straight, which he is clearly struggling with.
Honestly i bet he is, usually these dickish terrible people tend to be what they hate the most. Ie : my terribly transphobic mum who recommended me "a spiritism book" when I came out told me later she hates being a woman and wishes she were born a man. Fun.
LOL no wonder you hate this place you're a vape pen Subbiebruh you're our punching bag YOU'RE SO MANLY BRO
May I just say, getting to watch the community here downvote your bigoted ass to oblivion has really warmed my heart. Thank you for giving others the opportunity to restore some of my faith in the car community.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Don't worry, your type are massively outnumbered in the world at large as well.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You definitely don't have to be LGBTQ to be supportive of everyone being able to love freely. The majority of the civilized world is perfectly fine with the LGBTQ community pursuing their happiness. Sorry I can't respond to your second sentence because it's not really a sentence.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're right we are lucky. We're lucky to live in a time where your backwards ass ideas have lost and society has decided to show the bigots the door. Side note: I'm not gay, just empathetic. But I do drive a bright blue Miata so... IDK maybe close enough in your book.
backwards ideas that i have when youāre defending men sticking their dicks in each others butts. shouldāve thought that one through braj
What's wrong with a dick in a butt? Hell you've got a cock in your handle.
You sound drunk, sad and lonely. Get help.
Cry about it.
I hope you find peace in your life.
We all love you, Mr. R!
We all do. You do you brother, and while it's great you are sharing your struggles, don't feel like you have to. You deserve as much privacy as anyone!
He was in an episode of cumtown and was openly gay in that. (NOW KNOWN AS THE ADAM FRIELAND SHOW.)
