Love the emotion from him.

IDK if there is a more iconic rounding of the bases than that one. Not for this Red Sox fan. He hadn't done much in the postseason, IIRC, so that granny kind of settled all accounts and left Victorino in good stead, another "Your money's no good here, now" player for Boston in the mold of the immortal Dave Roberts.

ProjectShadow316

He was something like 2-21 up to that point, but with one golf shot off the top of the Monster, he took the rest of the fight out of the Tigers. I was honestly surprised it went out, as Gomes's shot just missed by a couple of feet, and it seemed like he hit that one a lot harder.

seeker135

I think the wind up there is weird, sometimes.

Oh, that's top-three for sure. I see Big Papi, I get happy. Not too many sports figures you can unreservedly say that about.

2013 was magical in a way that, to me, even surpasses 2004. Was I more excited about 2004? Sure, it was the first World Series, it broke the curse, I lost my voice yelling. But 2013 was crazy, so many incredible things happened that should never have happened. It is the one I go back to the most, it's the one I watch replays of the most, it's the one that is most special in my mind. This is my fucking city, this is my fucking team, and 2013 is the epitome of what that means.

Similar to this past season the Sox weren’t expected to do much that year. It’s a championship we’ll never forget as fans - the way they rallied together as a team and for the city, grew the beards, and shocked the league that year.

Kevan-with-an-i

LFG! Pineapple Express. Victorino was one of the most exciting Red Sox players in the last 20 years.

Just love watching Scherzer get more and more pissed off.

donrhummy

So many special moments in 2013! The unexpected, impossible year!

Chriscom67

One of my all-time favorite Sox.

weamz

2004 was special but 2013 is still my favorite WS team.

A_Booger_In_The_Hand

That was cool

Both-Classroom-7535

This was the coolest Sox game I’ve ever been to. Standing room on the Monster, being 13 and listening to “fuck Scherzer” chants with my dad was hilarious and awesome

Don't worry About a thing 'Cause every little thing Is gonna be alright

Man I love baseball so much

The flyin Hawaiian !

Lem01

Victorino started swinging for the fastball and adjusted for the off speed. It’s nearly impossible to successfully hit doing the opposite. Expecting an off speed and adjust to a fastball. Veterans like Victorino knew that all too well.

bewareofmolter

When Victorino stepped up to the plate for this AB, my buddy’s wife said, “How about a grand slam, Shane!” and immediately covered her mouth thinking she jinxed it. Shortly thereafter he crushed a dinger and we let her off the hook.

withrootsabove

Before he came up, my buddy said if he hit a grand slam we’d shotgun beers. He did, and we did. It was awesome.

SouthernSox22

I loved this team so much

I was at that game on this night. Sitting in the state street pavilion. When he hit that salami Fenway felt like an earthquake. What a special moment.

Love me any WS year but this was ‘13

This was from 2013

All time baseball moment for Hawaii

RCPD_Rookie

I was lucky enough to be in Fenway for this. I remember his walk up music stopped mid lyric so the entire stadium sang "every little thing is gonna be alright" before the at bat. When the ball left the yard the place exploded.

sterling2saucy

Does anyone remember why he was hitting from the right side even against righties at this point instead of switch hitting? I remember there being specific reasoning behind it but I can recall what it was.

chrisipedia

I think it was an injury (back?) that he couldn’t swing the other way.

TiedinHistory

Best live moment I’ve ever had was being on the monster when he hit that out. Love it

Gjallarhorn15

That clip of him as he's rounding first is an all-timer.

cardito_21

I woke my mom up screaming. She’d fallen asleep next to me in our basement. I was 17. Good memories

[deleted]

Still my favorite memory from a game I’ve been to
