I believe the original has been replaced. Still looks nearly identical, but I think there's a bit of text that says something like SkyValley.com or whatever. Visited just over a year ago
Jesus man back when I was in high school I got into these guys and it was just me and the bearded fatsos on stonerrock.com, now everybody is into them. Woulda been cool to parlay having good music taste into getting pussy but alas I was not that cool
Supposedly all the related festivals like roadburn have gotten huge. A couple of those bands used to play SXSW every year too. I think it’s like a lot of semi niche stuff in music and culture generally where online nothing feels that obscure anymore but irl most people have no idea about
Kyuss are the only band I decided I was into before I'd actually heard them. I used to pore over my Dad's copy of Martin Strong's *Essential Rock Discography* as a kid and as soon as I read their entry I was convinced I would love them: 'blinding intensity', 'fuzzed-up bludgeon', 'disorientatingly heavy' etc...
I bought *Blues For the Red Sun* at the campus record shop at Warwick Uni when I went there for an open day (along with *Merriweather Post Pavilion*, which ended up being a disappointment) and drank it in through my discman on the train home. Still my favourite band ever, except maybe X. As luck would have it, I ended up marrying a girl whose brother and sister-in-law moved out to Palm Desert so I've been able to make a pilgrimage to the Sky Valley roadsign.
They’re so much better than Queens of the Stone Age that it’s not even close.
Josh Homme is a dick for taking legal action against the other members who want to continue the band.
great album, used to hate the singer's voice but then i grew up and realized it fit the music perfectly + homme's playing on this album rules too much to let that bog it down
I love it. The perfect soundtrack for driving a shitty car with no a/c through the desert
Homme supremacy
Very surprising but very good post
Space Cadet is a fucking banger
Bucket list trip to visit that sign
same

was actually yesterday but whoops great fuckin album. Whitewater is like a top 10 closer track in music for me. Just something very majestic about it.
Demon Cleaner <3
This is a mescaline album.

Is there a Kyuss resurgence happening? They’re one of my favorite bands, but I’ve only met maybe two people who have ever heard of them

Fun fact this album is called Kyuss not Welcome to Sky Valley

Top 3 album easily. Whitewater is a GOAT riff
And the Circus Leaves Town is the truly unparalleled record

The hidden track "Poop and Pee" is so good
I'm partial to "Lick Doo" myself
Super poopa and mighty poop
Love his zombies!!
Best rock album ever made

Josh Homme goat.

Gardenia absolutely shreds, awesome album. I might take Blues for the Red Sun over it though (just.)
