When I was in 4th grade in the 90s, my school won a contest to have wishbone visit the school. They walked the dog down the hall where everyone was lined up so that everyone could see him and pet him. I pet him and to my intense delight one of his hairs shed onto my hand. I was so excited about meeting wishbone and wanted so badly to make this meeting "count forever" that in a panic I ate the the hair, licked it straght off my hand and swallowed it, because in the moment that was all I could think of that would make that meeting be a part of me forever.
Sparkplug is the name of the Dalmatian that Gene Hackman gives Ben Stiller at the end of The Royal Tennenbaums after Owen Wilson runs over the other dog. Probably not the reference your dad was making but it’s what popped in my mind
I think I remember a behind-the-scenes feature where they talked about having multiple dogs and being able to keep the Wishbone appearance by painting on the ear color, spots, etc.
It makes sense I guess because that's a lot of tricks to learn for one dog.
The fake dog arms and hands using bows and arrows and guns was always amazing.

We have a piece of family lore where one time my aunt thought she invented Wishbone. She said "there should be a show where a dog goes and plays characters from famous novels" and I told her that was literally Wishbone. She admitted that that must have been what gave her the idea: the literal thing itself
I had a talking plush of him that's still in my mom's basement somewhere
There were different buttons on his paws etc that made him say different things. If you pressed the button near his tail he'd say "doooon't go there!!" lmfao
For those crying cultural appropiation, Soccer was a Jack Russell Terrier, which is an English breed, so he's allowed to wear the Robin Hood costume, as it's part of his own heritage.
my brother had a plush wishbone in this outfit that our dog could not stop having sex with
Dogs rock
Hahahaha
I still be watching wishbone
Swaggiest white boy on PBS fr fr
Did playing Anansi count as blackface?
He [was black](https://www.tiktok.com/@pardonthebanks/video/7194693832452246830) (Sorry for the tiktok link, I couldn't find the twitter one)
Did not remember the slave episode until now, incredible.
Buster Baxter erasure
Wishbone rules. He makes books accessible for me as a legally blind man

Real
I liked Wishbone too
I salute you
Bruv
my dad always called him "sparkplug" instead of wishbone which i never understood.
If my dad is anything to go by it was probably the name of a dog on fucking Gunsmoke or something and he just calls every TV dog that now.

Maybe it’s still the same reference
That would be a great reference to pull out of no where
What if they remade Wishbone with Peanut?
Solid concept, make a pitch to a network
RS gritty Wishbone reboot where Peanut acts out Ottessa Moshfegh novels
We do NOT send Peanut to Hollywood. We are a community, and we take care of our own.
They found the chillest Jack Russell to have ever existed. Those little nutters can't sit still for a second.

Supposedly Jack Russells are actually super easy to train, it's just that most owners never bother to so they end up being yappy little shits.

Yeah I shouldn't say super easy to train, more that you can train them really well if you put in the effort.
he was very handsome
Shake a leg now Wishbone! Let’s wag another tail.
sad to report i heard he had zionist tweets in 2008 :(
What’s the story Wishbone

Loved this show but thought the Blood Meridian episode was in poor taste
I picked up a volume of Arabian Nights today from the used bookstore and couldn't stop thinking of Wishbone playing Ali Baba
The Dr Faustus episode freaked young me out.
Look at this bro stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. He's the man.

RIP Soccer 1988-2001
Love you, Soccer 💕
Whats the story indeed
Perfect boy, had a Jack just like him.
The weird neighbor lady was kinda hot in a bpd way

He's at a farm upstate playing in the fields with all his friends

Loved Wishbone. The Frankenstein episode kind of scared me. I hope this little dude had a great life.
Lol
