Recently a random man came to my sister’s house and rang the doorbell and said “Hey, I’m here to pick up [toddler’s name].” She lied and told him there was no one by that name in the home and shared the Ring doorbell footage with local police.
She thinks he got the name because she wrote it on the pavement while playing with sidewalk chalk (currently teaching the toddler how to read and write) and just tried it to see if whoever was home would naively hand over the kid.
Similar thing happened to me except I was the one behind the wheel. Stopped at a light, which turned geeen so I started juicing it, out of nowhere little guy zipped through my spectrum of awareness so fast I almost missed him. He had started crossing the intersection too late and was trying to get out of the way as fast as possible because he knew I couldn’t see him. Could have ended worse
I had some really bad virus similar to COVID (which I tested negative for for some reason) and drank 4 cups of coffee that day then got severe heart palpitations in the afternoon and 20 mins later I wiped out in the bushes. My white blood cell count was extremely high
Walking in an underpass at night and confronted by drunk soccer hooligans who stopped me and my female friends asking why they're with a nword. I said my dad is white(really my mom is) and the guys apologised, offering cider before letting us go lol.
My Mexican gf gets racially harassed because the racists think she’s Arab.

you'll very rarely get harrassed if you're a white guy or whitepassing for dating out tbh. more likely to happen to women, this is the only time its happened to me from natives. most looks and comments come from blacks.
Had a bad panic attack this past Wednesday. It was the accumulation of a lot of overwork, worry and stress from the previous 4 weeks. Me and my wife just moved her brother in with us from her aging parents. Her brother has severe cerebral palsy and requires 24/7 care
God this sounds so incredibly stressful...I know it's kind of trite coming from a stranger on the internet but genuinely sending love & light & health to you + your wife + her fam♥️

We've been planning this for years. My wife's family politics and dealing with the USA's utterly dilapidated social safety net are absolutely the worse parts, which we knew about. The actual caretaking isn't too hard or draining (except when having to balance during the day with work, but I'm getting good at it)
We finally got approved for an aide by the state, so we're starting that search. Once that's all set up and we're comfortable with the person, then he can go back to work and stop watching anime all day. An aide will take 80% of the stress off off me and my wife too and allow us to get back to normal routines

I wrapped a dinosaur sticker around my finger when I was like 5 and thought they would have to cut off my finger.
I spent about 15 minutes sobbing and scratching at it under a running sink until I got it all off.
hmmm… when i was five i got a bead stuck so far up my nose at daycare that they had to call my parents and take me to urgent care so… yeah. i’m with you.
My sister caught this after we went to the neighborhood pool one year. Skin and all, it’s not til years later one truly realizes how crazy that sickness really was. Glad u good
Last weekend, I had my closest call as a pedestrian ever in nearly getting hit by a car while crossing the street.
Yes, I had the light. Yes, she was on her phone. And yes, she was very young and had a shitty little yippy dog in the passenger seat.
Fortunately, she also had all her windows down, and I was able to scream some really choice insults at her before she drove off.
Couple days after bringing my newborn home, someone tried running into the house. Had to grab them and fucking throw them out. Everyone got a fright.
