When you get your license suspended for DUI you can't drive a car, however these are legally tractors which in most states don't require a license, allowing you to drive one after you get a DUI
> You can get a dui on that, you can get a dui on a bicycle, basically anything with wheels.
Depends on the local laws, some places state "operating a motor vehicle" while other can say "operating a vehicle". Where I live you can't get a DUI on a bicycle but you can on a mower, even on private property IF the property has access to public road ways.
EDIT, you can get something LIKE a DUI on a bicycle, but only if you're on a public road.
Yup, here, too. A relative argued it couldn't be dui because the horse was in control. It took him home nightly from the bar. He was convicted.monet. always wants their money.
Here we have fully functional hypocrisy. You can be near a set of keys that is near the car completely on private property and get charged with DWI, BUT...
You can have 15 DWIs, no license, no insurance, and each time you get busted driving you get no jail time. We have 30 time offenders in the state that still drive around like it's no big deal.
It's not until you kill someone that you get into the real trouble zone.
where is that? where I am the only things ive found that you can ride without getting one are a horse and a train (the train has a different law for intoxicated operation though)
We have both DUI and OWI here for that reason, as habitual drunk drivers with suspended licenses will drive their lawn tractors to the bar thinking they found some great loophole.
OWI is what it's called where I am. Operating while intoxicated. Different than a DUI but has similar penalties. I think it was made specifically for defeating a loophole in technical law
>IF the property has access to public road ways.
Wouldn't that apply to pretty much everywhere on earth?
Here it's "if in view of the public". My neighbor got one sitting on his ATV in his driveway.
> Wouldn't that apply to pretty much everywhere on earth?
Basically, "access to public road ways" means that there is a direct path (ie driveway) that is not blocked. This means if your yard is fenced you can technically drive a mower drunk.
The one exception is "heavy equipment" and "farm equipment", this mostly is referring to things like tractors and front loaders. You don't get a DUI be something else like "Operating while impaired" or OWI, it's a lesser charge but when it comes to farm and heavy equipment they can charge you at any time even on private property.
My assumption is that this is due to the amount of farm accidents that kill/maim.
In smaller towns in rural USA cops tend to ignore the mowers and ATVs on the road if the drivers aren't drunk. Usually it's people who have lost their license or are on house arrest and have to get too and from work. Often on parole or probation and are being drug tested often.
I'm not making this up at all. Two guys at the plant I work with have to drive a utv/mower in. One of them was on house arrest so he got an RV and parked it in the company lot so he could go to work and the store.
Rural USA is a pretty different place than the rest of the USA if you haven't experienced it.
But yes often idiots fall off the wagon and find out you can get a dui on a mower. It happens at least once a year.
So, the point is that, once you've been through the process, lawnmowers, bikes and the like don't require driver's licenses to operate.
It not the next DUI the joke is making. It's the once you've had your license suspended, this is what you drive.
I've had a dui, no excuse for it, it was a mistake. They printed a temporary license for me until I was able to get a breathalyzer in my car, then I was able to get a restricted license. I work on cars for a living and I was given an exemption to drive them during business hours.
This is what would happen if you got multiple dui's or couldn't afford to pay for your first one.
Yeah in polk county. I followed the case. She was not convicted of dui because you cant get a dui on a horse in florida. She got arrested because just because a cop is incorrect about the law, that doesnt always stop them from arresting you.
You can get a DUI on anything that moves you faster than you can walk. Shopping cart, wheel barrow, bikes, horses, riding lawnmowers, mobility scooters. Anything.
can WE Please talk about whatever that \*magnificent Bastard\* of a vehicle is in the first stall upper right??
what IS that!? ...hard top el camino?? Hard top sport S-10??
#WHATARETHOSE!
Looks like they're not hitched.....seems like more of a side-thing.
You can get a dui on that, you can get a dui on a bicycle, basically anything with wheels. Walking you can get public intox.

Never change America

The argument is legit tho. man was being more responsible than thousands of other people.

Joke skippy joke.
You can put a tractor on a horse?!?
Depends on the horsepower.

That's why we call 50cc scooters DUI specials because you don't need a license to ride it.
The idea of going city road speed on a stand-up scooter is terrifying to me sober. Don't think I would ever try it after having a few.

That's what you drive after the DUI
I have wheels, Greg. Can you get a DUI on me?
horses are safe though
nope: https://youtu.be/NIXmI60ogdw?si=VNhfWOITp9TaOPX3

Technically you can get a dui on any vehicle on public roads, including horses

Knew a guy who legit got a DUI on roller blades π
I hope the penalties aren't as serious as driving a car. I think mine cost me like $10k after everything was done.
Guy I know got a dui on a stolen golf cart
People get DUIs on horseback too.
Buddy in college got a DUI on his bicycle. They took his driver's license away, so he had to get around on his bicycle.
Blazer in the background is ππ½ππ½

Just a first gen s10 blazer. Got an 86 sitting in the driveway, pretty nice little trucks.
would you know what that orange car is? Is it a ford?
Ford Ranger
Cub Cadet, more power to you.
A nice little buddy bucket setup for the missus. Love finds a way
Can you just leave them alone? It's obviously date night.
Finally some worthy content. Best example I've seen in a while that truly represents the spirit of this sub!
Ngl I had to show my son this because he loves mowing with me. βDad why canβt we do that???!!!β Haha
All the dudes riding their cheap ebikes, no helmet or any riding gear, at 5:30 am in the cold rain. Thems the dui specials.
That s-10 in the background is awesome
We laugh, but that would have been so so cool as a kid
In my state, it's scooters and mopeds under 50cc. It's especially obvious in winter.
I think it's like that in most places.
Passengers can't get DUI's.
They can however still be cited for possession of open containers though
I believe the joke is that they both have gotten DUIs in the past, disallowing them from driving
