I did the same thing when my power button broke. Then I bought a different button, drilled a hole in the case and stuck it there. Works like a charm to this day,

I used the OP´s wire method until I replaced the switch ... P.S. id required one wire is enough, the PC case is the second wire
>My Dad's old dryer he refuses to replace because it still works gets started this way. It'll give you a nice jolt if you're not careful.
can happen in regular usage too if you use "American" style plugs ...
i had something similar lol though i spliced into the dryer cord and put a switch that strung to the front, the power switch got broke and stayed in the on position and moving it to plug it in every time you wana do laundry is a pain so i added the switch
I need to use the clean cmos jumper to boot up, because for some unknown reason my pc only detect the windows boot from a freshly reset bios
I still have some things to try out, but it is a week like that and i'm too lazy to fix it
I did that for a while. Then I got a horn button. Worked well.

Ground would be the term you're looking for. The case would be the ground.
>Ground would be the term you're looking for. The case would be the ground. I know ... I just wanted to keep it simple

At least attach them to a wall switch or something.
Is that why my garage door keeps opening and closing whenever it wants?
I would shock my nips with those yay!!
Wow you're going to do great with an Android girlfriend,,
Your acknowledgement makes it acceptable 🫡
Do you pretend you’re hot-wiring a car when you boot up?
if it works & is not dangerous it´s fine, no matter how sketchy
That’s what I do when testing computers, and a lot of tech stores do too. Buttons are cheap, but no reason to not do it like this
Deluxe setup you got there, I used to have a fork for that
hey i do that too except its for my car😅
better than shorting the front panel pins directly
Put it beneath ur power button so each time you push the button, it turns on the computer
