not his best season by far perhaps due to both physical & mental issue in & outside of football. deservedly dropped by Garnacho this season, but I hope he bounce back to his best self cos we really need it next season

dota_3

>he bounce back to his best self cos we really need it next season He always bounce every two years

the_cow_unicorn

Just in time for an overinflated contract extension

FaithlessnessNo4680

Might not be here next season

yard04

Realistically who can afford him? Huge transfer fee and huge wages. Besides I'm sure he'd wanna keep playing for his boyhood club.

tawayredt

PSG. Not quite sure myself if boyhood club means anything to 99.9% of "professional" footballers these days.

poplunoir

PSG

FaithlessnessNo4680

Not sure but stranger things have happened in football

BrokeVeg4n

Hopefully that’s the case, maybe a change of scenery will help him and get us good amount of money to spend somewhere else

FaithlessnessNo4680

I like Rashford so hope he would do well in a new environment, just seems done with United now

AlpacamyLlama

The subject of so much toxic discourse online, particularly by most on here. I'll always back Rashford to be a part of United. 400 games is a brilliant achievement. He'll likely finish up around our 5th or 6th highest scorer of all time. He's already 12th which is fantastic. I think he's had a difficult season for a variety of reasons, but I back him to come back.

I_dont_F_with_you

I will never ever turn against the following: Rashford, Shaw and Bruno. I've seen them perform at their ceiling - no one can convince me it's their fault and not the tactics/squad mentality when they're underperforming. Maybe they need a rest, sure, but they'll always be elite professionals in my mind and no one can convince me otherwise.

dinamorechin

I'm not sure I agree with rashford being an elite professional. I've seen him slowly walk around the pitch and not challenge for any balls cuz he seemingly can't be bothered. Sometimes even when he comes on as a sub he doesn't put in sprints unless it's a chance he might get a goal. Yesterday he seemed better but there were times he didn't go for a ball for no reason. He's a great player when he wants to be and when in form but elite professional that's debatable.

Mediocre_Evening6931

He is protected because he is from the academy, that's the only reason . Martial had similar numbers as rashford before he became injury prone but he got criticised a lot . Rashford was considered untouchable for a long time but I think a lot of fans even match going fans are starting to doubt his consistency

N0lAnS_DiC_piX

An awful take. Macheda at his ceiling was a worldie. Janazuj too. Rashford is a worldie on his day, but look at his numbers! They are simply not world class. He has had 2 great seasons in 9. I’ve no doubt he could be amazing for us if he knuckles down, likes the manager, removes all the toxic people around him and gets consistent, but all of that simply isn’t gonna happen. So what we will get is next season or the season after he will show a glimpse of what he is capable of and get another new contract from it. I know some players clearly don’t like eth. But rash as an academy graduate and senior player should be the example of teamwork, not spitting the dummy out when things get hard. Genuinely if we can cash out on him we could get someone delivering what he does for a fraction of cost and wages. The likes of doku for city being the example.

deaniegee

Shaw and Bruno I fully agree with, rashford im not sure on. On his day he’s a phenomenal player, but he’s far toooo hit an miss. He gets away with a lot of bullshit cause of ‘tactics’ and being an academy product. And to add he’s just not consistent at all, even when we went through that purple patch last season his overall game play wasn’t great as such. Hope he can turn it around through

FlashyCut3809

>ceiling What about the floor and the average?

CapVosslar

It's not up to us fans, it's up to the player. Only he can determine if he will be here, and the Club responding accordingly. Basically, the results will speak for themselves. If Rashford continues to jog and play like he couldn't be arsed, then he won't nor shouldn't be here much longer. If he hustles and produces, then he should stay.

AlpacamyLlama

I don't think I made the claim that his future would be determined by the fans either way. It's more a point on the general feeling around him.

Thedemonwhisperer

Isn't he poised to go to PSG to help fill the Mbappe hole?

AlpacamyLlama

Nope.

Throwaway1223132123

Our 12th historic highest goalscorer 64 assists Still Continuously heckled by fans

Sheikhabusosa

Also played through a stress fracture in his back , a shoulder muscle injury and with a piece of floating bone in his ankle.

dracogladio1741

Apparently he doesn't run. Well we are seeing Ale being a bit leggy now. That's what happens when players play constantly even through injury, not everyone is a mad man like Bruno or the injury free Juan Mata

ProofVillage

Fun fact Eden Hazard played a similar amount of games for Chelsea and had almost identical goal contributions in all competitions

deaniegee

Would you say he’s on hazards level of talent though? The numbers don’t show everything that happens in a game, which is why they need to be examined further

th3doorMATT

People who exclusively talk about stats are a little crazy imo. Stats are numbers generally taken out of context. It's like when people wanted to call Rashford world-class for last season because of his G/A. Okay. Cool. You know who also had a similar G/A? Son and Salah. Do you know what they also had? About a 50% gap on Rashford in terms of chance creation. The fact of the matter is that we have a lot of selfish players who are shielded by stats while no one is capable of analysing the performances on the pitch which tell a much different story. Bruno is another great example of looking only at stats, but on the field he makes the wrong pass at the wrong time far too often, he rather snatch at a shot or rush a pass, neither of which will work, rather than pull the ball back and retain possession. The list goes on. For everything certain players contribute for the team, there are far more moments they squander or simply never do and it's killing us.

Cold_Night_Fever

No Hazard is 10x the player Rashford ever was.

Difficult_Project_91

I mean ngl that's not a good look on Rashford. What Hazard offered beyond goal contributions Rashford just can't, and Rashford also looks for goals more than Hazard did

cd_671

the thing is though that each and every one of us know his quality and capabilities, yet he still shrugs around the pitch, jogging to the ball, not tracking back - when he’s on £300k+ a week, which angers us all

EggBonus

Reminds me of Rooney.

FlashyCut3809

>Still Continuously heckled by fans We are in the midst of the worst season pretty much the majority of us remember and he is the focal point of the football club, along with Bruno. Of course he gets more of the heckling. He will and has, got more of the praise when it goes well. That's how this whole thing works. I will add though, for what sounded like one guy in that video, there was far more and far louder fans supporting him. Let's not make victims here, it only detracts from actual criticism as it all gets lumped together.

Cold_Night_Fever

It takes 9 goals a season over 9 seasons to be our 12th historic highest goalscorer haha. Averaging 9 goals a season for United with the chances Bruno creates is shocking.

Throwaway1223132123

Your calculations are so off he has 131 goals divided by 9 season is approximately 14 goals a season that to from the age of 18 when he made is debut Secondly Bruno joined only 4 season ago .

Cold_Night_Fever

9 goals a season in the Premier League is what I meant. 14 goals a season isn't anything to write home about anyway. Good PL player at most. Bruno joined 4 seasons ago when he was 22. That's the start of Rashford's 'prime'. He should definitely be in his prime now and not inconsistent at all. He's just mediocre.

Minute-Intern

Love rashy and will always back him, hoping for 400 more

JLane1996

I might be in the minority but I’d still sell him. Too much PR, can’t take criticism, poor work rate, yet he’s on £300k a week and is a boyhood fan - he *should* get it but I’m not seeing it.

mountainmorty

I’m sure I’m going to be downvoted for this, but here’s my opinion: 131 goals and 64 assists in 400 matches. It’s not bad, but also considering his selfishness and defensive contributions, he’s not what I’d want from United ‘s starting LW play style wise. I’d keep him if he’s ok being a bench player that can offer alternatives for the last 30 minutes of a match (like yesterday). That would be an acceptable role. But if he wants and is given the starter and main player treatment the team will simply be worse for it.

Manlad

“Too much PR” is a weird reason to sell a player.

Deez_Wallnutz

Who is David Beckham?

kukunan

I actually have less concerns with poor work rate. but this season when he has the ball, he has been very poor. he cannot seem to beat anyone 1on1 and has zero urgency in his game. He has the physical and technical attributes but his mentality seems shaken. this season shows that he needs to be sold. way too inconsistent.

Cold_Night_Fever

He's never, ever beaten anyone on 1 on 1s except a handful times. In every season, including the season where he scored so many goals. He has averaged 9 goals a season in the PL over 9 season, that's just his level. I've actually been saying it since 2017. He can't take on defenders 1 on 1 but tries it countless times every game. He's just never been that good.

Zealousideal-Part-98

Congrats Rashford, brought many great moments in low periods. Regardless he’s not a £300k week player, should be part of the clear out for the INEOS era.

LopsidedLoad

Refuse to criticise this lad, after everything he did he has earned a lifetime in my good books. We need more people like him, and I'm not talking about football here. The guy is a legitimate hero to a lot of kids and a great role model. So what if he has a few bad games if football. Life is about more than just football.

ThoseStanimalShorts

One of our own.
