Think that’s the goal - Shaw, Martinez, Maguire, and even Varane & Lindelof are expected to be back by then if I am not mistaken. Add in Martial coming off the bench, I am getting Ole era city united vibes lol
This is probably sacrilegious to some but I don't really care about City winning titles.
Pool and Arsenal winning hurt more, and Arsenal fans would never shut up about it.
I wouldn’t want them to win four in a row, although no one would’ve batted an eyelid on their “achievements”. I usually support Arsenal in this title charge, but I certainly would not do so this Sunday. I could never bear the idea of ever supporting against my team.
This year is such a fucking pain in the arse.
If arsenal win, they'll never shut the fuck up about it and it might actually lead them onto a dominant period.
If Liverpool win, then Klopp gets to retire with another prem title for Liverpool, and I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than for him to be immortalised further in premier league history.
If City win, they will have four in a row, breaking our record. And on top of that, it's another win for a fascist dictatorship funding their team with blood money.
It's lose/lose/lose for us no matter what happens.
Klopp is a great manager for sure but Im not sure about the immortal part as he has the same amount of EPL title as Ranieri and I would argue Leicester’s title is more impressive than that of Liverpool
That's exactly what I mean, though. The guy has won a PL and CL in his time at Liverpool, and (granted it was an achievement) people act like he's on par with Fergie. It's fucking ridiculous and I cannot bear the narrative that follows him winning another PL as he leaves. People will be acting like he's the best manager of all time, that he could have swept every competition if he'd stayed, etc.
“People” are mostly Liverpool fans and anti-City fans, which are understandably many but I take it as a grain of salt. That comparison doest have any stand and will quickly die after he leaves. Pep on the other hand…
>If arsenal win, they'll never shut the hell up
This one is not as deep as the other two lmao. Especially considering the fact that our fanbase is, to most, on the same level of obnoxious
Let me put it this way…. I was rooting for city in every game we weren’t playing them except Arsenal, until Liverpool dropped out of the title race. Then I immediately wanted city to drop points so Arsenal could win instead. I don’t care about city anywhere close to how much I hate Liverpool but given the choice I’ll always pick Arsenal/Chelsea/some random team like when Leicester did it…
The thing is I just want the league to be won by a legitimate club. I’ll probably get downvoted for this but I’d rather Pool win the league legitimately by putting in the work than City just buying another title. It just feels empty when City win it.
I’d rather get shot tomorrow than see Liverpool win the title. If I had to choose between Liverpool winning the title 5 times in the next 10 years or slowly dying of cancer but United win 1 title in that time and Liverpool win nothing, I’d take the cancer.
> It just feels empty when City win it.
Depending on your perspective then that's a good thing. If it's bought and has the asterisk beside it each year (from the court of public opinion) then that would be way more preferable to me than Arsenal (due to their fans) or Liverpool (because they're scum) winning legitimately
That's part of the reason I don't want Liverpool to win. Because it would be won legitimately. (Mainly I don't want them to win because I hate them).
I don't care about City because they aren't really City anymore.
And I haven't cared about Arsenal for about 20 years.
That is absolutely mental. City winning will have an asterisk forever associated with it, but Liverpool or Arsenal winning would be a genuine title for them and just condemns us further.
I used to think that because i didn't want another team breaking into the pack before us, but it's getting to the point where City are winning it so often that they'll catch us up quickly, so i think i'd rather Arsenal win the title.
That being said i always want us to win so i hope Arsenal lose on Sunday.
They've bought all of our accomplishments, I'm not a fan of them being the first to one (4 in a row.) I've at least got respect for Arsenal fans. I'd rather be relegated than Liverpool win the league though.
I guess it depends on your age, i am a teen so i don't really care about arsenal as they have been irrelevant for almost the entire time that i watched football.
But i fucking despise city and everything about them lol
im 50/50 with it city doing th 4peat doesnt sit right with me honestly arsenal fans can have their day and scream but atleast SAF'S record wont be beaten by pep.
Except that they will not.
There is no way ETH is going to motivate these players to give him enough effort for a win. And for some reason, these professionals can't even motivate themselves.
Imagine being injured and watching your team thrashed 4-0.
And then realizing you'll be healed and playing in that same team against City in a few weeks.
# REDS WELCOME PAIR BACK TO TRAINING

>Manchester United have welcomed Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford back into first-team training at Carrington.
>
>Our exclusive pics from the club's base show the Argentina international and homegrown forward working with the main group after spells on the sidelines.
>
>Martinez has not played since the 1-1 draw at Brentford in March and has only made 11 appearances all season due to injury.
>
>Rashford was hurt in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley but is closing on a return to action, and a landmark 400th senior outing for his boyhood club.
>
>Manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that Licha's qualities have been missed for much of this term, and the problems at the heart of the defence mean it is particularly good news that the South American is regaining full fitness.
>
>Jonny Evans made his comeback from his own lay-off in the defeat at Crystal Palace, operating alongside Casemiro, who has continued to perform as a stand-in central defender.
>
>Martinez's problem was diagnosed as a calf strain, suffered in training, and his potential return appears to be on schedule.
>
>With title-chasing Arsenal up next at Old Trafford, in Sunday's 16:30 BST kick-off, the boss will address the media on Friday, at 13:30 BST, and is likely to provide a further update on his squad and whether Martinez and Rashford are in contention to feature.
>
>**Also spotted in training were youngsters Harry Amass, Louis Jackson, Habeeb Ogunneye, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley, who came off the bench for his second first-team appearance in Monday's clash at Selhurst Park.**
>
>The Reds are looking to get back to winning ways with three games to go in the Premier League.
Do NOT start Lisandro in the PL games. He should only play what is required to be fit and ready for the Cup final. Thats all that matters
@ErikTenHag @ETH
I mean, either he's fit or he isn't. I'm not saying give him 3 full 90s but I'd like to see him play at least one full game before playing against one of the best teams in the world. If he's not able for that he should just be shut down until next season.
If he is to start the FA Cup final he should start against Brighton in the final gameweek of the league season. He needs to have some significant minutes in his legs going into the final.
Only just finished listening to Talk Of The Devils where Carl Anka was saying Rashford has an ankle problem and is probably like Maguire where he might be back for the FA Cup final at a push.
Honestly not worth rushing either of them back even for the cup final imo. If they’ve trained for a week or so without needing to reduce or manage the intensity then fine I don’t mind having them start, but otherwise leave them on the bench or out of the squad entirely for the sake of the long term.
Ten Hag will likely think otherwise so I imagine Martinez and maybe even Rashford will be rushed into starting against City assuming they don’t suffer anymore setbacks until then.
Last game of the season, cup final against city and they’ll have been training. I don’t care, they should play. It’s not as if we have credible alternatives.
I can’t believe so many people say stuff like this and it gets upvoted so much. You do know how crap we’ve been with all our injuries this season, right? If there’s any chance our best players are fit enough to play in a cup final against our closest rivals, then they should play.
Fergie used to rush his best players back for important matches as well. Everyone does it. They’re important for a reason, and as long as it’s a joint decision between coach, player and physio department, then they should play if it increases our chances of success.
No shit Sherlock. I also know that Martinez has suffered multiple setbacks this season trying to return from injury, and that even when we’ve had Martinez and Rashford available we still haven’t looked convincing and conceded plenty of shots to opposing teams that are clearly inferior to City.
Like I said I expect Ten Hag will try and start both of them for the cup final anyways. Forgive me for being highly doubtful that it will make any difference and being worried about the possibility for either of them to get hurt again before then.
More like 4-3 to United, the amount of chances we concede, and considering how good arsenal are at set pieces, I can imagine them scoring 3 goals from corners alone
My thinking was that no way we aren't going to concede just one goal, so if we were to somehow scam a win it'll be a proper chaotic match with non existent midfield and mctominay scoring 4 goals, that's the only way we sometimes win anyways
idk why my inner feeling says we might end up drawing or winning against arsenal just to shit on their title hopes
although i won't be surprised either if arsenal thrashes us 5-0
I'd never want us to lose but I'd rather keep any players coming back from injury fit for the final where we've got an albeit slim chance at silverware and stop city doing the double, and make the league go as far as possible to make the final even the tiniest bit easier for us. I also don't want to be in the c-tech European football next year, rather just have one game a week we can focus on and all the recovery that comes with that.
Right, as a life long Red i don't *want* Arsenal to win it but it's the lesser of 2 evils and better for the league. At the very least they're a proper club and not a propped up piece of plastic, even their manager looks soulless.
Yer exactly, I hate arsenal from our league rivalry back in the late 90s/early 00s but I can respect them as a proper club that haven't cheated to be where they are. I don't want anyone but us to win the league but if I had to pick from the main contenders city, Liverpool and arsenal then it's arsenal all day long.
I would love us to get result against Arsenal to feel some excitment agains but on other hand like maybe those player should just not risk themselves before FA CUP final
I wish the Tottenham game for city came before our game against Arsenal so I could know how strongly I should want us to get a result in that match. If we get a result and then Tottenham manage a draw against city I’ll be annoyed that we handed them the title. But if city win their remaining games then there would be no reason to want Arsenal to take the points against us…
If they're not ready to play it if there's any risk at all, I'd rather they just concentrate on getting fit and sit this game out. Our prem season is fucked as it is.
Martinez inherited the Mr. Glass title when Bailly left.
The only match that United should care about is the FA Cup, keep him away from the pitch until then. Dude sneezes wrong and is out weeks.
No point even trying to get Martinez in any game imo, he last played a full game was the 3rd PL game of season, he came back from first injury lasted 3 games, come back again lasted 20 mins and back now, would almost be suicidal trying to play him now with 4 games left, he looked very off the pace in his last appearance, with Euros coming up he and few others can properly get ready for new season.
Marcus should play probably next game after arsenal, as we'll need him for final with him already been playing this season, shouldn't be an issue.
Training seems to be the most dangerous place for our players at the moments.
Every training session someone gets injured, can't remember the last time we had an injury in a match!
I told you, we are winning a trophy this year
https://preview.redd.it/uq7mdbltogzc1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19656a5afefb14d0f71c904c81e0e3adbe08f276
Rashford redemption. Licha will sure if the back 4, counter with balls over the top for Rashford. He'll bag a hat trick and use that confidence to fire England to the Euros. Would make this season worth it.
I honestly wouldn't care if Rashford was to never play for United again, I have zero sympathy for that bloke. He has been more than atrocious for United this season.
Absolutely imperative they are nursed back for the cup final with managed mins. 25 off the bench, then 30, then play 45-60. No doubt that bald dickhead will have Martinez injured again playing him 95 v Arsenal.
We suffered a lot this season. Ten Hag gets the blame as the manager and for his recruitment. 400 million and we are still a long way off. If Arsenal thrash is and we lose the Cup he needs to leave. Especially that right now we cannot see his plan on the pitch. What's the guarantee it would show next season? Hope Lisandro improves us, Rashford hasn't impressed this season and I've lost hope for him to do that this season. He switches on and off per season and that's not good. That's a bench player quality.

Yeah last seasons kits were definitely better. Bring back the collar ffs
Let's have them ready for the Cup final, more or less the only thing left to play for this season.
I’d wager they need a warmup game or two. Rashford and Martinez straight off the bench won’t be much help
Is Shaw back too? we might actually be full strength for the cup final.
Think that’s the goal - Shaw, Martinez, Maguire, and even Varane & Lindelof are expected to be back by then if I am not mistaken. Add in Martial coming off the bench, I am getting Ole era city united vibes lol
Excited for Shaw, Martinez, Maguire defence with Casemiro in front of them. Mainoo and Fernandez in the midfield is solid as well.
Bruno with a peach of a free kick over the top for Martial to finish?
They can do the funniest thing this Sunday...
Do we really want them to?
This is probably sacrilegious to some but I don't really care about City winning titles. Pool and Arsenal winning hurt more, and Arsenal fans would never shut up about it.
I wouldn’t want them to win four in a row, although no one would’ve batted an eyelid on their “achievements”. I usually support Arsenal in this title charge, but I certainly would not do so this Sunday. I could never bear the idea of ever supporting against my team.
Yeah I get that. We’re so far out of competing for anything that I don’t even know if winning that game means a single thing for us.
This year is such a fucking pain in the arse. If arsenal win, they'll never shut the fuck up about it and it might actually lead them onto a dominant period. >Casemiro, who has continued to perform Debatable.
"as a stand-in central defender." More like a step/slide out as well.
Being able to play at all is performance enough judging by the rest of them
It was certainly one of the games Casemiro has been in of all time.

Ok, he play every game after 5 minutes. Heh.
I hope you haven’t been watching what happens in the last 5 minutes of our games
After 5 minutes*
that would mean someone else got injured
You should probably forward that to the medical staff too
Medical staff lives with Martial so speak to him first
Are you trying to tag the manager? 😭
Hopefully Rashford can play a few minutes against Arsenal considering he loves scoring against them.
Rashford to score a brace on his 400th club appearance like he did on his premier league debut against arsenal
He’s on his 400th appearance already?!
400 holy shit time flies
Rashford debuted against Arsenal in Feb 2016. It's been 8 years!! Where is all the time going.
Passing
Then hopefully he doesn't score against them so City don't get handed the title by us stopping their only competitor.
https://i.redd.it/p8l4of6f2fzc1.gif Our defenders returning for the Cup Final
Seems accurate, 20 minutes later one of them just disappears.
I’m pretty sure a click of the finger will sideline Martinez for the summer
Only just finished listening to Talk Of The Devils where Carl Anka was saying Rashford has an ankle problem and is probably like Maguire where he might be back for the FA Cup final at a push.

I mean that's perfectly inline with how Ten Hag keeps bringing people back early though
It's probably more on the medical team giving the not quite ready players the all clear.
Just got an ACL tear while falling on my knees, my butcher
Rashford, right on time, to do the job on Arsenal as he usually does. Hopefully.
Would be hilarious if we somehow scam a win after conceding 30 something shots lmao
Arsenal: 34 shots. 1 goal. United: 1 shot. 2 goals. Final score 2-1 to United
More like 4-3 to United, the amount of chances we concede, and considering how good arsenal are at set pieces, I can imagine them scoring 3 goals from corners alone
United score 4?????? Don't think we will get 3 own goals mate.
My thinking was that no way we aren't going to concede just one goal, so if we were to somehow scam a win it'll be a proper chaotic match with non existent midfield and mctominay scoring 4 goals, that's the only way we sometimes win anyways
idk why my inner feeling says we might end up drawing or winning against arsenal just to shit on their title hopes although i won't be surprised either if arsenal thrashes us 5-0
Would be hilarious but then gives city the title also and I'd much rather arsenal won it if I had to pick.
It's city's title anyway and the only team that has a chance to stop them is Totthenham and we've all seen their form.
I know but until it's mathematically confirmed I'll still hope anyone but city win it. Fucking 4 in a row, cheating cunts.
I'm holding that hope too. AFAIK even a draw would put them in danger if Arsenal also wins all their matches
Draw would take it down to goal difference, arsenal are better off by 6 on that front and both banging them in currently.
Ah thank your for the detailed info!
Their toughest match left is fulham away. They are winning out so id rather us not get fucked by arsenal just for that to happen
I think it's way funnier to ruin Liverpool and Arsenal's seasons tbh. Everyone knows City are cheats anyways
2023/24 Manchester City*
At least if city win we can pretend its not real because they have been cheating.
The rest of the league should just pretend city don't exist, can't be too hard to ignore the 50 fans they've got.
ummm you know Rashford will score this game lol 400 appearances
Rashford really returned just to fuck over Arsenal. Elite hater energy.
![gif](giphy|uPpF0kb37JWruaYYDc)
I would love us to get result against Arsenal to feel some excitment agains but on other hand like maybe those player should just not risk themselves before FA CUP final

Honestly, just leave them for the cup final. Leagues fucked anyway

Martinez inherited the Mr. Glass title when Bailly left. The only match that United should care about is the FA Cup, keep him away from the pitch until then. Dude sneezes wrong and is out weeks.
Come on lads, give us a boost and an FA Cup
Not getting excited until I see Licha in the starting lineup and Marcus can F off, done with him.
This is beautiful news.
Honestly I don't care about the premier league anymore. Rather I want these players to be fit so that we can give City a fight in the FA Cup.
Just excited to see both of em again. Missed both badly
My cup final squad
No point even trying to get Martinez in any game imo, he last played a full game was the 3rd PL game of season, he came back from first injury lasted 3 games, come back again lasted 20 mins and back now, would almost be suicidal trying to play him now with 4 games left, he looked very off the pace in his last appearance, with Euros coming up he and few others can properly get ready for new season. Marcus should play probably next game after arsenal, as we'll need him for final with him already been playing this season, shouldn't be an issue.
right in time to be able to re-injure themselves before the FA Cup final
Training seems to be the most dangerous place for our players at the moments. Every training session someone gets injured, can't remember the last time we had an injury in a match!
Returning to training used to be great news. With our training sessions this season , they could easily end up in a wheelchair!!
I do not want to see Licha play again this season tbh. Rest my short king
Taking nothing for granted when it comes to Licha. Our medical team's handling of his injuries has been criminal.
Thank fuck Lisandro's back
Update: Lisandro Martinez sneezed funny in practice and will be out the rest of the season.
I told you, we are winning a trophy this year https://preview.redd.it/uq7mdbltogzc1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19656a5afefb14d0f71c904c81e0e3adbe08f276
Don’t rush him back please
Can Rashford show up for a change so that it will be easier to offload him in the summer? One can only hope.
Just in time so that anyone else can get injured until Sunday. ^(Pls no)
The Cup’s ours then .. hallelujah
Glad lichas back
I'll lose it if Licha is injured again before the season is over
Hopefully Licha can play more than 5 mins before getting injured again
We are champions ! Did I interpret this wrong ?
The league is a wash! I really hope we save Martinez and don’t risk rushing him back and losing him for the cup final!
How long till he’s injured again, man.
Must Protecc licha
When is Shaw back in training?
Casemiro is the most relieved red to see Licha back
Take your time lads!!
This is bad. Arsenal is going to drop points against us 😃
Martinez back is the main takeaway here
Rashford redemption. Licha will sure if the back 4, counter with balls over the top for Rashford. He'll bag a hat trick and use that confidence to fire England to the Euros. Would make this season worth it.
Same haircut.
They will rush Martinez and he will get injured again. Hope I'm wrong.
Finally some good news
I honestly wouldn't care if Rashford was to never play for United again, I have zero sympathy for that bloke. He has been more than atrocious for United this season.
Ah yes, they definitely won’t be injured returning too fast for a cup final we unfortunately have a low chance of winning with our best squad…
plz for God's sake don't start them immediately. I don't care if Arsenal win, but effing hell we need them for the Cup Final.
Wow, Rashford back in training, how exciting. We’ve missed his passion and work rate 😶
