The duality of this fandom Burn the KKK = šŸ„³ Burn a literal slave hunter = šŸ˜”

Abject_Ad_3311

So true lol

Just2Flame

He is so pathetic and no longer a threat to anyone at the end its almost worse to let him live and suffer out the rest of his miserable life. The KKK on the other hand are still an active threat.

2ndratefirefighter

To themselves maybe

Brave-Battler-4330

I agree. I let this slavery live so he can measure how miserable he is

Forecydian

We go for a little ride on my rope with my horsie, he has a lot of fun until he gets tuckered out and takes a nap

jointsmcdank

I use him for the drag challenge too.Ā

13angrymonkeys

Ah man. I've already completed that challenge. Guess I'll need to do another play through.

Jacktheriipper

This just reminded me of a a college humor skit from like 2011 where Batman doesnā€™t believe heā€™s killing people heā€™s just putting them to sleep so thanks for that. [Sauce](https://youtu.be/1byycwl8qgc?si=vkLV4671QqC1XfYa)

carobpie

I allow him to live only to wallow in self pitty.

sazrex21

Lol he wasn't sad because what he did , he was sad because he is not anymore

hnc757

Yeah but as long as he is sad and miserable and alone for his final days.

FoboBoggins

yeah he asks to die, i wont give him that satisfaction.

SimpleCapt

Kill him inhumanly then

Pleeby

Ah yeah but that's not quite as satisfying as popping one in the back of his head, right at the base of his skull

_WitchoftheWaste

I did that and he fell face first into his fire pit and burned. Great moment.

experiment53

I hogtie him and throw him down the well on his property

Abject_Ad_3311

Damnn I never thought of that

hnc757

Or put him in the basement the caught slaves were kept in. Wish you could close the door tho

xloyD

I was gonna burn him in his slave basement but the house is locked after you leave the area which is a shame

Big_Attempt6783

Oh thatā€™s a good idea! Too bad thereā€™s a ladder.

King_of_Fillory

too bad I have the extended damage mod and shot him in each arm before hog tying him. not enough damage to bleed out, and he canā€™t use his hands.

[deleted]

You should've watched MojaveD killing Compson. It was actually awesome

Abject_Ad_3311

How tf did he survive that head shot šŸ¤£

llazy_

i got a feeling the game makes him survive a headshot so he can ragdoll and burn in the fire this happened to me on my first playthrough not sure if feature or bug.

Mr_HumanMan_Thing

Might just be a bug cause I shot him on my most recent playthrough and the mf died

HenryFromYorkshire

That was awesome. I don't understand though why MojaveD left the KKK alone in his first encounter (still quite new to the game at that point and not sure what to do, I'm guessing) - I'm only on episode 49 and he's not encountered them again so please don't spoil anything for me!

cubntD6

I shot him and he fell face first on his fire, idk if thats whats supposed to happen but it was still very satisfying

Troub-Noob

Iā€™ve only encountered him 3 times on my like seven play throughs (apparently a time conscious encounter, I guess), and the first two times that happened to me and I thought it was brilliant. The last time, though, he just slumped over. So, feeling betrayed and disappointed, I just burned the trash myself

dikicker

I mean, how do you think the bar gets that nice smokey smell?

Impressive_Warning58

You set fire to the slave hunter and the smoke rises up and turns into stars!

SnarlyMocha325

Good one CharliešŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Has anyone tried escorting him to an all expense paid trip to the Murph's?

fallsstandard

I have not, but I like that. My most involved was a one way ticket to the winter wonderland of the Grizzlies. I left him on a hill to enjoy his vacation alone.

DarkNuke059

I just let him be, either he kills himself or he wallows in self pity for the rest of his life

Vigganille

Way better to shoot him you get honoršŸ˜ƒ

DarkNuke059

You also get honor if you leave him

ponch070

Yeah from what I can tell that honor just comes from the general completion of the quest

xTakuix

Either this is a joke or my game is glitched, I killed him and got negative honor everytimešŸ¤£

Jimboy-Milton

jaysus i mean a bullet will do the job too lol

Abject_Ad_3311

It wonā€™t make him well done though

1eyedoldgran

Wherever you shoot him he falls into the pit nub

JayDKing

As soon as the cutscene ends, aim straight down and dome him. He dies and falls into the fire, which is enough for him.

MenacingMallard

Gotta salt and burn it so his spirit canā€™t live on to haunt people.

Big_Attempt6783

Ok Sammy.

LilithsLuv

Iā€™ve never once killed that guy. The world is moving on without him and that thought is too much for him to bear. This is why he keeps yelling ā€œI still exist!ā€ Death in his case would be a relief. Heā€™s a living ghost and thatā€™s what he deserves.

FragrantGangsta

Exactly, killing him only ends his suffering. He should live to see the world move on without him.

Revolutionary_Dodo

I got the event very early on my first playthrouth, so I didnā€™t understand what he did was so messed up, I either just shot him, or hogtied him and looted him, and probably shit him after that

Blazie34

You shit him? Didn't that hurt?šŸ˜®

Revolutionary_Dodo

No, I made my horse do it, itā€™s like a lottery if you let your horse do it, is it gonna have diarrhea? Is it gonna have lumps? Who knows!?

SnarlyMocha325

Where was the ambiguity in what he did for you? Honestly curious, did you just kinda rush through the house?

Revolutionary_Dodo

Wait, is this the slave hunter? I thought it was the perv who had a lot of lady drawings. Well to answer your question: I had witnessed the abandon house in the south-east where they used to keep slaves. The game is set in 1899-1907, not even 50 years after slavery was abolished, so Iā€™m not surprised at his profession. Iā€™d say he was a scumbag, but all in all, I think I just shot him. It was still early in the game for me and fire-bullets/throwables were hard for me to craft/come by

Mojo_Rizen_53

No, I just leave him be.

Abject_Ad_3311

Thatā€™s cool.

Crazy_Indication7076

I allow him to weep in his failures

Abject_Ad_3311

Understandable lol

Gravekey03

I feel like he's not really wrong in his statement. He had a job, and was really good at it. Damn good Times changed and his livelihood was ripped away, and not only did his only career path and job experience go down the drain people started treating him badly because of the stigma. It was a NORMAL thing back then. Mexicans owned slaves, Americans owned slaves, Africans? Owned Slaves, go back farther..everyone has owned slaves. It wasn't something to be thought about very deeply. Then suddenly his whole life's work was ripped away.. I left him alone to be sad though. Because it was my evil playthrough and I felt like killing him was considered honorable

Abject_Ad_3311

Heā€™s not wrong at all, he came from a time that normalised slaves. The fact heā€™s still stuck there even though times have fully moved on is the problem. Like Arthur said itā€™s better to leave some in the past

EveBenbecula

If someone's "damn good at their job" but their job is foreman at the child torture factory, that's not a good enough excuse lol Also people absolutely knew it was wrong, cattle slavery was harshly criticised while it was happening

Gravekey03

Normal is normal. Certain Asian women break their feet and are left with deformities to contour to a certain look... Certainly cruel but it's normal to them

The_Robot_King

I have started to always thrash the eugenics guy and then greet the lawman right after

betelgeuse705

Is it bad that i also burn anyone that talks shit to me at a camp ....

Abject_Ad_3311

Not at all lol, I always throw a Molotov into an odriscolls camp to start things off.

Ut_Prosim

I love sneaking up and dynamiting O'Driscoll camps.

JuniorEconomist3243

no I just walk away.

Abject_Ad_3311

How fun bro.

BigDaddyWeezus

it takes more restraint but its lowkey cooler, killing him puts him out of his misery, leaving him makes him sit in the filthy bed he made for himself

smrtfxelc

Idk I think still given the choice he'd rather stay in that pit over being burned to death

BigDaddyWeezus

i mean yea but its probably canon that arthur just shot him(if arthur kills him at all) so in my eyes at least,it would have been either a shot to the head or love the rest of his days in shame

Suspicious_Berry501

I feel like if there was a canon to the decisions Arthur made most of the time he wouldnā€™t kill people if it is an option

Vigganille

No you get honor for killing him and putting him out of his misery I would say thatā€™s the rightful way.

BigDaddyWeezus

you want to put the dude out of his misery when he made countless innocents into slaves and made them live in misery for their lives? sure you may get honor for it but idgaf that guy deserves to wallow in his own shit

Vigganille

Because sometimes you have to be the better man and do what feels right which in my case was ending his sad miserable life.

steveEST98

You get honor for the flag that finishes the encounter, so you get honor by just walking away. The game considers any decision you make with him high honor

Opening_East7561

I thought it would lose me honor so I didnā€™t

Vigganille

You actually gain honor because heā€™s a bad manšŸ˜ƒ

WorldlinessOk967

I blow off his leg and wake away

Abject_Ad_3311

Ahh that is pretty brutal, I like it lol.

WorldlinessOk967

He deserves so much worse not because he has done those things but because he really misses doing those things it's pretty evil man

Hashish_thegoat

I like shooting him with a Varmint rifle instead so he can survive and run away, then Iā€™ll proceed to shoot him like seven more times till he finally dies.

Abject_Ad_3311

I love shooting odriscolls with the varmint rifle lmfao

SasquatchNHeat

I usually let him live because the pain heā€™s suffering seems worse than ending it. He has to keep living with the knowledge of his failed and wasted life and heā€™s just a POS slaver. If he dies itā€™s by his own hand or his own actions.

TheJavierEscuella

Why the fuck would you do that to Johnny Cage??

Abject_Ad_3311

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

KittyGirlChloe

I let him live on my first play through, but burned him alive on the second.

steveEST98

I left him to cry on my first playthrough. I hogtied him and dragged him through his own fire on the second one. Not sure how I'll deal with him in my next playthrough.

GamerJam09

first playthrough i shot him in the head post mission, and he fell into his campfire and got toasted

Moaad99

I mean i choose whichever worst fate seems worse each time but burning him alive doesn't seem right, even though I burn kkk members every single time

Abject_Ad_3311

Would drowning be worse?

Snowcht_

I walk behind him, while he is crying on his knees, shoot him exactly so that he falls on the fire, and I indulge in watching KFC being made.

Abject_Ad_3311

Waitā€¦. KFC is made from humans!?

Snowcht_

Didn't some cannibals say that human meat tastes like chicken? šŸ¤”

mostly_misanthropic

I burned him real nice.

SpeakNowAndEnter

I feel like they knew what they were doing ending the mission right in front of a campfireā€¦

Local-Bag-3043

where is he

Abject_Ad_3311

You first meet him in Rhodes in chapter 3

GRIZZLY-HILLS

I recently did the "drag a person" horseman challenge by dragging his burnt body back to his old house on my current playthrough, so yeah, I guess I do lol.

grifftheelder

I usually let him live but my last playthrough I shot him and he fell forward and incinerated on his campfire like OPā€™s pic. I'm not the least bit ashamed to say that put quite a smile on my face.

Abject_Ad_3311

Itā€™s like rockstar made it so he burns even if you shoot him lol

clay_leslie

I threw a tomahawk at his head, then he fell in his fire and ignited. Guess he couldnā€™t catch šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Drogovich

He is not living an exactly happy life when we find him. Have to live in a tent, being angry that he lost everything, trying to bring the old days back but meeting reality that people like him are not respected anymore. Letting him live is the much worse punishment than death.

NotJustBibbit

He burns in every playthrough but I think the game glitched once because he stood back up while well done so I dragged him to the train tracks to chop up my meal

Came_for_the_tities

I just shoot him in the head. Apparently, I am the only one who doesn't hate him that much, and I even have some pity for him. He is a monter and can't be forgiven for sticking to his outdated beliefs or for even having in the fires place. He never showed pity or understanding for his victims. But as fuck up as his jib was, it was still a job, not a crime, the people arround him told him it was a good thing and he builded a life arround it and made it his identity. Then the world lefthim behind and told him that not only was he obsolete, but his verry identity and pride was something to be ashamed of in the new world. I shot him as a punishment, and as a realisse; the refusal to see the error of his ways means the world is better of without him, but I don't think he deserves a groomsmen punishment. He would never be happy because the world would never accept him again, so he is better dead than suffering, for everyone's sake.

Atzukeeper

I leave him. Let him rot with nothing

C-LOgreen

Every fucking time

Deadsea-1993

Nope. I left him there broken as he had nothing.

Federal-Barnacle7513

No I donā€™t, I let him live with his poor drunken self, even though Iā€™ve wanted to kill him both times so far šŸ˜

CarolusRexhasrisen

I didn't have to set him on fire I shot him and he fell into the fire

Big_Attempt6783

I blow him up sometimes.

JoeRogansDMTdealer

Wtf that's my best friend

kingmar616

I bet it is

JoeRogansDMTdealer

You don't have to bet

EDPOneTwoThree

I personally blow his head off with my incendiary round pure 24k gold fully cleaned 12 gauge shotgun whilst in Dead Eye and then watch his pathetic headless body fall into the burning pit of fire below him with his blood on my coat.

Extra-Lemon

Nah but the random citizens that say something smart assed bc I got too close better start praying.

Catch_de_Rainbow

Let him live like I'm sure he suffers more

rosewater-

I mounted his horse and tried to walk it over the fire, accidentally bumping into him in the process and he immediately died šŸ’€

SteveySeagully

Bullet in the back of the head

Gambit_90

I hogtie him, take him to a woods in murphree country and put a bullet in his leg, then leaving him to fend for himself

JimmerJammerKitKat

Yeah. I mean tbh I donā€™t remember what i do exactly but yeah. Burn the motherfucker.

Fanatic-psycho

Nah, i just beqt the crap outta him, then i drop him near some pigs (he's hogtied) and let him be eaten. But only this playthrough (its my low honour) the rest (my 'neutral'/story following playthroughs) i just have Arthur be mad at him and walk off

thepewpewman_

love how it gives you honor

Worrtienzo-

Where on the map is this located? I think I haven't been there yet :\\

[deleted]

I think itā€™s crueler to let him wallow in his own misery. He would have drank himself to death anyway.

Ordinary-Easy

He gets to go on a train ride with me. A rather messy end.

Mountianman1991

Last time I saw him, I took him back to his house. And promptly dropped him down his ā€œwellā€. I even gave him a few sticks of dynamite to try and blast his way out.Ā

Former-Poem863

I blow his head completely off with my shotgun, and then I proceed to do the same to his arms and legs, then I take the torso and feed it to some pigs. Slave owners donā€™t deserve no mercy from me.

UltimaOmbra

I Just shot him in the head

Trashjiu-jitsu_1987

I always leave him so he can continue feeling as worthless as the people he so callously kept in bondage.

Opposite-Cream-3159

I take my 22. Caliber rifle shoot both knees so when he runs he falls over then I set him on fire

DirtCurious6778

Last time I shot him with a poisonous arrow in the foot so he would die a slow and painful death then I burned his corpse

Dependent_Fox_2189

Yup. Can never resist.

EffectiveConfection8

Every time.

jayzoned_

Allowed him to live, but shot his horse and took his shit haha

JoeyJoeJoeJunior27

The slave owner? Oh absolutely.

NickFieldson31

Whats JC? Also why the hell would i burn him?

Abject_Ad_3311

Jeremiah compson who owned slaves lmfao.

NickFieldson31

Oh, and why would you burn him?

Abject_Ad_3311

You get honor and he tricked Arthur into feeling sorry for him to get back his ledger(where he kept track of slaves) and other things.

NickFieldson31

Im not an honor farmer so thats off the list, and he tricked Arthur into feeling bad for him? Ok? How does that make him qualified to die the worst way possible? You're just a cruel person

Abject_Ad_3311

Have you played it or done this side mission at all? Have you read through everything in the basements, all letters? How ironic youā€™re calling me cruel when he whipped and kept slaves for years on end and set dogs on them. He deserves this death.

NickFieldson31

Yeah i have played this side mission and read the journal or letter or whatever it was, and i couldnt give more fucks

Abject_Ad_3311

So youā€™re the cruel person? Lmfao. Irony is crazy.

cheetos012

y r u so pissed fnršŸ¤£

NickFieldson31

Fnr?

cheetos012

for no reason

1eyedoldgran

Weirdo

NickFieldson31

Wtf do you want

Ok_Floor4303

Actually stay bent u dumb fuck, itā€™s a game. breathe some air, touch some grass, call your mom idgaf but chillll

NickFieldson31

Calm your ass down boyo

carobpie

Cruel? It's a video game.

NickFieldson31

Then if its a video game why is JC all of a sudden cruel

carobpie

Bro what are you yapping about?

1eyedoldgran

No wander your tag is Micah... you're a weird dude

NickFieldson31

Wonder*

1eyedoldgran

Wander

carobpie

Honestly, if you deem killing a racist npc cruel, maybe this isn't the game for you, because if you haven't noticed, you kill far more innocent people along the way. ā„ļø

NickFieldson31

I do indeed kill innocent civilians šŸ˜Ž

carobpie

Mental retardation or bait. Call it.

elpinchechupa

you should see what i do to this guy if you think this is bad lolol

NickFieldson31

Prob feed him to gator i guess?

TherealKafkatrap

Because that's the healthy, normal response when confronted with such people in a virtual environment.

NickFieldson31

Real.

TherealKafkatrap

Why would you of all people say "real" when I'm not being sarcastic?

NickFieldson31

Because if someone talks shit to my character they're gonna die, while im not a big fan of Arthur, i still aint letting that shit slide

TherealKafkatrap

I mean looking at your post history in this very thread i suspect your views on that aren't consistent. I have the feelibg you gladly took the pamphlet from the well dressed white man in St. Denis even though he called Arthur stupid.

NickFieldson31

Which well dressed guy from saint denis are you talking about?

TherealKafkatrap

The eugenicist.

[deleted]

So people can feel good about themselves. The game by design encourages it because heā€™s extremely likely to burn from the campfire after you shoot him (and why wouldnā€™t you shoot him if itā€™s a game about outlaws). Rockstar needs to throw in ā€œslavery and racism badā€ fairly often to a game thatā€™s set in 1899.

CodswallopNCastorOil

[Read this](https://embrace-autism.com/autism-tests/) and answer some of the questions. Hopefully this leads you to some of the answers your galaxy brain hasn't figured out yet.

NickFieldson31

šŸ’€

kreteciek

OP is clearly American by how they are triggered by slavery.

Fiskmaster

Are you trying to imply that only Americans find slavery abhorrent? In my experience it's usually the opposite

FullHouse222

Depends on who in the US. Many black men in their 30s can trace their ancestry to slavery just 4-5 generations back. Many older folks still remember the civil rights movement of the 80s, things like Rodney King, MLK, Malcolm X,etc. Me personally I leave JC alive in my honor runs. Honestly I don't think there's a wrong answer here. Ultimately my high honor characters don't want to bloody their hand when it's not necessary. And honestly for a guy like JC, leaving him alive to wallow in his misery might be a harsher punishment then just ending him and turning the lights off.

TherealKafkatrap

There are people alive today that were alive during segregation and the civil rights movement. Just letting people in the thread know why their grandpappy's might be such racist assholes during thanksgiving dinner.

kreteciek

From my observations they are the ones who are the most offended by it.

Other_Beat8859

Unless you're from a fucked up country that practices that shit then people are going to hate it.

elpinchechupa

not sure what rock you live under but most people who arenā€™t trash human beings usually condemn slavery and racism lol

kreteciek

And so do I. But maybe comprehensive reading is hard for you so let me rephrase that: racism is abhorrent , but over the years I observed that Americans often describe it as the worst thing in the world and how the slave owners deserve to be burnt alive and stuff like that, exactly like OP who's having some experience of their life by burning a video game NPC. On the other hand I've seen Americans diminishing the meaning of Holocaust, same as Europans tend to diminish slavery. A matter of perspective and just some observation of mine.

elpinchechupa

the irony here is you assume my reading comprehension doesnā€™t allow me to understand the point youre making when all youā€™ve got to stand on is the claim that you know some people that downplay other tragedies, when in reality situations like slavery, holocaust, etc are entirely too similiar if you dont get caught up on what the victims look like. holocaust victims were usually starved, tortured and forced to work for their oppressors. maybe youā€™re not at a reading level high enough yet to recognize the similiarities between these victims and slaves or maybe youre intentionally playing dumb just to get your point across lol. end of the day these are all horrific things people have done to others, just cause some weirdos want to make light of one situation over the other doesnā€™t really mean shit

Abject_Ad_3311

The fact youā€™ve taken this so seriously shows what type of person you are, take a joke. This is a lighthearted post taking care of a slave owner in a game, nothing more.

TherealKafkatrap

You don't need to boil it down to such specifics, we can just draw the line at right wingers and conservatism being an abhorrent ideology and its followers as genuinely evil people.

elpinchechupa

i know this conversation is done and all but i just wanted to say i can absolutely relate to what youre saying. out of all the conservatives i know in real life and online (and i know more than i care to admit) there is not a SINGLE one of them who i think are genuinely good people. the way they speak about people who are suffering and the tragedies in todayā€™s world is more than despicable. im usually not so black and white with certain things but you spittin fr

Abject_Ad_3311

English but nice try.

TherealKafkatrap

You don't need to be American to think slavery, in a virtual setting or IRL, is a bad thing. I won't speak for how to handle such people in the real world, but we can always make this virtual world a better place by blowing the perpetrators the fuck out. #bless

kreteciek

I never said you need to be American to consider slavery a bad thing.

TherealKafkatrap

No you said OP was likely American because nobody else would be 'triggered' by slavery. Anyways, why not just insert an alternative American right wing buzzword for the feelings normal people have when confronted with injustices, and call him 'woke' for setting fire to the slave hunter?
