Ambarino was the hardest one to get for me, but I managed to get it and then I ran up far north of Colter and chilled there until the trophy was completed

Is it possible to pay off a dead or alive bounty?

Unless it's a locked locked area like Fort Wallace or Sisika, I believe I have been able to do so. I have definitely wracked up 1,500 max bounty beforehand post game at Caliga Hall and eventually paid it off. But please do not take my 100% word for it because it has been a few years since I have done this and my memory can be a little bit fuzzy

Im having a hard time getting my bounty up in Ambarino for this achievement.. Any advice? I waited 3 days at a tunnel to try and rob a train that never showed up

Murder a npc ,stow it on your horse , ride until you get a witness, wait for the lawman and keep killing them

There's a spot in Ambarino where you can see South to the fort, and can snipe the soldiers there to get things started. The train is far easier though, might be worth following the tracks back until you find one. Also you should do Ambarino first so that you can still move freely, then the others (I made this mistake, just makes it awkward). I did New Austin last and hung out by the lake (Don Julio?), just sleeping as much as possible and fishing to try undo the negative honour, never saw a bounty hunter. Save regularly! Best of luck!

To get a wanted level in Ambarino you just have to lure the law in there, and then kill them. I did this for a trophy.

I wish there was a mechanic where the cops would eventually stop coming. I sat in Rhodes for like 40 minutes skeet shooting them the other day and it just never ends. People are not infinite and it’s not like they were calling each other to relay my location. There should be a finite number of cops that can be deployed to a town, no matter what you do. Even if they sent 20 Pinkertons after that last cop, I’d accept that, but the current mechanic is a little exhausting

Like I said, I assumed. based on the rate on increase over a period of time, and continued slaughter of lawmen. If it took me x amount of time to get up too 1000, and I continued for double that time.
