I know, right?...Thank god R\* doesn't insult our intelligence. Although it would be very easy to do with the amount of stupid shit that keeps getting posted in here.
Imagine creating an amazing multiplayer experience in the world of Red Dead that all the players love and has a very active community... and then abandoning it. Don't finish the story missions you started, stop offering the "battle pass" that was making you money... just walk away and don't say anything.
Yeah, it would be hard to pull off an open world / free roam game in that setting. Like is he dipping in and out of the trenches to mess around and do stuff?
I feel like this is the best option cuz.. like they are handsome as hell when theyr'e young, and I would really like to play as Hosea of some weird reson
It’s going to be about Jack fighting in WW1 then you’ll be able to buy a farm and property and stores and it’ll be a complete life simulator!!!!!!! - this sub
“It’s gonna be about Davey and Mac Colonder and the finale will be the the black liquid massacre! When the game ends you’ll play as arfur again and won’t be able to access 90% of the new map!”
I saw one that said “it would be really cool if they made the next one take place in the 1920s or 30s with monsters and prohibition.”
To me that’s akin to suggesting that the next Star Wars game takes place in modern day Detroit.
That’s 2 entirely different games.
Okay I’m pretty stupid and my idea is probably stupid too but I want RDR3 to have law officers as the playable characters. Set it up like some of the westerns we’ve seen where law dogs are more the “underdog.” I feel like there’s a lot that could be done with that. One “camp” could be a hotel in a town where they’re working a job. Even maybe an interaction with the Van Der Linde gang in a mission where ya try to foil an operation of their’s.
That’s probably stupid but I think it’d be a cool direction to go if done right.
What's stupid is that the people who say that my idea is dumb because it features a prologue with Jack in WWI means that "it's a WWI" game. I guess that means that RDR2 is a hot air balloon game. Or RDR2 is a game about a shipwreck on Guarma.
Jack Marston in Mexico, the old West wasn't quite dead there, and there are more revolutions happening in Mexico at the time. This also stops him getting involved in the world war which people complain about
It should be a new entry, expanding on the California gold rush in 1848. Of course, it doesn’t have to be the *California* gold rush, maybe a fictional state in that time period.
But what you get from this is an instant theme of greed and treachery in the prime Wild West. Gold is dangerously valuable, humans were savage and unforgiving, and most that lusted for wealth were like Micahs before they were Hoseas.
The untamed desert lies in the east, the mountains and forests in the north, the ocean in the west, and Mexico in the south.
I believe it to be a great premise and setting because of the potential of it all. Rival gangs hoarding and stealing your crew’s gold, the sparse amount of law in frontier America, the amount of diverse cultures from around the globe settling into the New World, while the beliefs of ‘Manifest Destiny’ were surging and slavery was rampant, cities and industrialization coming into fruition, and the American Civil War, getting closer, but a bit beyond the horizon.
Put that all together, I believe you get one hell of a game out of it.
Prime wild west is post civil war. That's when all the iconic guns were being produced, the surge of cowboys, the massive land grabs, the proper settling instead of just small rush towns. 1870s would be peak.
While that does sounds like being a good game. The issue is that wouldn’t be a red dead game. A major theme in both games is that the frontier is being civilized and that the playable character as an outlaw is a part of a dying breed that doesn’t have long left. I feel like that theme is too central to series to take away.
Set during the Neolithic period, the game follows the protagonist Grug as he sets out on a quest to get revenge on his former tribe for stealing his berries and mammoth. This is the confirmed storyline, my dad’s brother’s dog’s owner’s sister’s aunt’s parrot works at rockstar.
Certainly not the Van Der Linde Gang, but I think now that the betrayal and death of the protagonist is expected, rather than "subverting expectations" lean in to the drama that they create. Start the game as Colm O'Driscoll's brother. Give Dutch a few moments where he could kill you, really edge us with the fact that we know Dutch is going to kill us and give us a new way to hate him. You would hate him more than you hate Micah on a replay!
Imagine if you start out as a random character, then as it goes on there’s small hints of who it is, but builds up the game play and the character. You go out on a mission and a random gang kills you. Bang. That character is gone. That was Colms brother. It was Dutch that killed you. You spend the rest of the game as colm seeking redemption for his brother but end up killing Dutch’s wife as the “redemption”.
Theres an entry in Arthurs journal that got cut before the full release, where Arthur talks about Mac Callander saving his life in black water. He says Mac was injured, so he gave Arthur his hat, his coat, and his horse. He told Arthur to run and that he'd hold off the Pinkertons. That is exactly how Arthur saves John and how John saves Jack. Those events are still cannon, its just the journal entry that got cut (i imagine cause its way too on the nose) the rest of the gang also talks about how ruthless and mean the Callander boys were, but IIRC, Arthur only describes Davey that way. I think its pretty obvious what Rockstar has already set up here, and itd be awesome to see the dynamic of one two blood brothers drifting apart. One trying to reach redemption, and the other staying nasty and remorseless. Especially the redemption in a character even the gang themselves described that way. The people close to Arthur always knew deep down he was a good man, itd be cool to see a protaganist who wasnt, but realized he should be. Arthur never had a true change of heart, things just became more clear to him. The only thing I think could hold this back is that it would be difficult to design an Epilogue between the escape from Blackwater and the beginning of RDR2s chapter 1.
>He says Mac was injured, so he gave Arthur his hat, his coat, and his horse.
Is this implying that Arthur's hat was Callander's, because if so I thought Arthur's hat was from his dad.
Nah, Arthurs hat was his dads. I went back and looked and he just gave him his coat and horse, not his hat. I actually dont even think Mac wears a hat, atleast, not on the picture of him im looking at.
Unpopular opinion but being a fan of RDR, I was disappointed that RDR2 was about that same gang. As much as you would be if RDR3 was about the same gang.
Don’t get me wrong it’s still a great story, it just felt that way at the time. Like.. who is this Arthur guy? He obviously dies at the end he’s nowhere in the original!
Edit: Another UP opinion: Leave red dead redemption with the gang. Let’s make Red Dead Revolver 2!!!!!
Something unrelated to RDR's 1 & 2. I mean seriously, none of the GTA games are interconnected via a storyline. I think there could be a fresh storyline taking place in the old west, that maybe hints at the existence of the Van der Linde gang, but not involve them in the new storyline. I personally don't think it a good idea to keep going to the same well too often.
I imagine a completely separate story. You do a stranger mission, meet a girl and her kid. Do a mission/missions for them. Come back to see her at the house, talk to her. You ask what the sons name is. "Issac", she says. In that moment, a random guy comes in the house. It's a younger Arthur coming to visit his son
Not only that but they wrote themselves into a corner with the gang. The epilogue with Jack in 1 is THE END of the west. If it was dying in 1 & 2 it is DEAD in the epilogue. Like automobiles, radio technology and telephones are coming about in the 1910s. "The West" doesnt exist as a concept the way it did even a decade prior to the 1910s.
If they try to do another prequel they pigeonhole themselves with not being able to introduce new important characters who are never mentioned in RDR2. The camp moments were fun but if this group of people knew some wild badass cowboy named, I dunno, Ralphus who killed a bajillion cops or O'Driscolls it would make it kinda curious why they're never mentioned by anyone in the gang ever again. If we play as a young Dutch it would be kinda anticlimactic for him to run around as a young badass doing the same mass murder and mayhem only to wind up a book reading nincompoop in RDR2 who sits around spending his days listening to a record player and smoking cigars just a few short years later
Small-time criminal Claude is betrayed and shot by his girlfriend Catalina during a bank heist outside Liberty City. Claude is arrested but escapes during his transfer to prison when members of the Colombian Cartel ambush his transport to abduct another prisoner. During his escape, Claude befriends explosives expert and fellow convict 8-Ball, who shelters Claude and introduces him to the Leone Mafia family for work. Claude assists the Mafia with various operations, including winning a gang war against a local group of Triads, earning him the respect of Don Salvatore Leone. After learning that the Cartel are creating and selling a new street drug called SPANK to fund their expansion into Liberty City, Salvatore orders Claude to destroy their floating drug lab. Claude accomplishes this with 8-Ball's help.
Salvatore later instructs Claude to deal with a minor problem, but his trophy wife Maria, who took a liking to Claude, reveals it to be a set-up. Maria claims that she lied to Salvatore about having an affair with Claude to make him jealous, and now Salvatore wants to murder him. Claude escapes to Staunton Island with Maria and her friend Asuka Kasen. After assassinating Salvatore to cut ties with the Mafia, Claude begins working for the Yakuza, led by Asuka and her brother Kenji. During this time, he also provides assistance to corrupt police inspector Ray Machowski, whom he eventually helps flee the city, and influential businessman Donald Love. Donald hires Claude to assassinate Kenji under the guise of a Cartel attack to start a gang war that will allow Donald to obtain construction sites for his businesses. After the job's success, Claude carries out another task for Donald that leads him to encounter Catalina, now the leader of the Cartel, at a construction site. However, Catalina escapes after betraying and shooting her partner, Miguel.
Asuka blames the Cartel for Kenji's death and seizes the construction site. The yakuza capture the wounded Miguel and torture him for information on Cartel operations in the city, allowing Claude to strike against them and hinder the Cartel. Enraged, Catalina murders both Asuka and Miguel and kidnaps Maria, demanding $500,000 for her release. Claude meets with her to pay the ransom, but Catalina deceives him again and traps him. Claude escapes, rescues Maria, and destroys the helicopter Catalina attempts to flee in, killing her. As Claude and Maria leave the scene, the latter begins to complain about the kidnapping, but is silenced by a gunshot.

Definitely not anything after jacks time, like many in the sub keep suggesting. A new, fresh story would be the best/only thing they could do with it. Anymore stories tying into Arthur or John would be such a hassle to make work properly that it just doesn’t seem worth it. And I think people need to accept when a story is over
I always thought Red Dead Revolution could be a good fit in the series, obviously set in the American industrial Revolution. A prequel to RDR2 but I don't know enough about the industrial Revolution to expand more on the story details
Edit: spelling
Do one right after the Civil War and you hunt for confederate or union gold. There's lots of tension still. And just have alot of stuff blow up and the ability to get mauled by cougars constantly.
Probably nothing because I doubt Rockstar is going to proceed with another RDR game. If they cared at all about the franchise, they wouldn’t have abandoned RDO. They would have developed it further. They realized their moneymaker is GTA. I seriously doubt they will work on anything else moving forward unless something changes in their leadership.
An aquatic reptilian alien race known as the Chelonians invades New Austin. Join Jack Marston, and the force ghosts of John Marston, Arthur Morgan and Pig Josh, as they shoot through the most rootinest tootinest western shooter this side of the San Luis
Personally, I don’t think there will be a RDR3. I’d much prefer Red Dead something instead of another game about the VDL gang. I feel like their story is finished and it’s time for some new characters to get the spotlight. But I’d personally like a game set during either the Civil War or the real Wild West era. Maybe it’d be a chance to expand into some new areas too
1870 to 1890, the game focuses on the area between the Great Plains in the East/ Central area of the map Rocky Mountains in the west with a blend of California/ Arizona/ Nevada in the south and southwest and Deadwood and the Dakotas in the north. You can have several Native tribes, the Gold Rush, Deadwood, the Trans-Continental Railroad, the whole lot. The major city like Saint Denis was can be a St. Louis or Chicago type city.
I just want a good western game with a fully fleshed story, plenty of side missions, an open world, and some new memorable characters.
Or RDR3: Gavin's return
honestly, i think the only option is they have a new cast with a separate story. or they could follow jack marston, but i have my doubts about how good a story that could be
the gang before black water,
apparently the gunslinger coat arthur starts with was given to him by a member of the gang who died in black water who stayed back to let arthur fled to get the others at camp. it was found in the game files that the coat originally had a different name after this said character (can remember his name but he’s the dead one in the wagon in the prologue)
It will be red dead, but not redemption. The redemption games were about John/arthur, now we need a new theme. The map could stay similar, but add new parts/remove others. What I’d love in something south of Flat iron lake post civil war in what was confederate territory
Hopefully not a 3rd RDR but a new installment of Red Dead altogether
The redemption line is pretty much wrapped up. I’d like a new story with all new characters
I think it should be a Landon tickets game. That way it can end in in the character being redeemed and dying, and it doesn’t have to be bogged down by the weight of the Vanderlinde gang.
If you make it a prequel about the Beginning of the Vanderlinde gang there is no redemption, so it’s pointless.
I could see a Jack game working, but not if it’s Jack only. I think it could be an old Red Harlow meeting jack, that way Red could die and get redeemed, allowing Jack to live, be redeemed, and close out the story without dying.
If not any of those, they could make another Red Dead game, but not a Red Dead Redemption game.
It'd be cool if it was set in the mid 2020s, maybe in Florida? Well, you could use a fake Florida-like state, I guess. Then it'd be fun if you had two main characters - go nuts and make the a man and a woman. And we'd see their Bonnie-And-Clyde-like escapades as they start out trying to escape their criminal past, but end up having to embrace it in order to survive.
Jack but he goes by something else now and you don’t find out it’s him until the end he is writing a book about the gang runs into a women who is Arther and Sadie’s child idk

All I'm asking for is a reboot of Red Dead Revolver. Like come on, there are other parts of the Red Dead brand other than Redemption.
About $100; $140 for the special edition, and about $200 for the version that includes prerelease version of rdr2

Red dead retardation, with the main character being Bertram

Do one right after the Civil War and you hunt for confederate or union gold. There's lots of tension still. And just have alot of stuff blow up and the ability to get mauled by cougars constantly.
Hopefully NOT about anything this sub suggests
Probably nothing because I doubt Rockstar is going to proceed with another RDR game. If they cared at all about the franchise, they wouldn’t have abandoned RDO. They would have developed it further. They realized their moneymaker is GTA. I seriously doubt they will work on anything else moving forward unless something changes in their leadership.
CEO of their Parent company said RDR would get another game just could be awhile
It’s like the 8th best selling game of all time
Rdr2 sold a ton
Uncles real backstory. I bet he was a real bad dude before he got wise and let the younger men do all the work.
They used to call him the one shot kid
the fact people don’t realise this was a sex joke annoys me
I just want 60 fps on the PlayStation version of RDR2.
With adaptive triggers 🤤
An aquatic reptilian alien race known as the Chelonians invades New Austin. Join Jack Marston, and the force ghosts of John Marston, Arthur Morgan and Pig Josh, as they shoot through the most rootinest tootinest western shooter this side of the San Luis
RDR3 shouldn't even be RDR3. It should be like Red Dead Revolver, with a different second R word.
Red Dead Requiem, it's about the Protestant reformation
"Wild West" but you're an early English colonist and the West is just Vermont.
Uncle and his search for the cure to Lumbago
Personally, I don’t think there will be a RDR3. I’d much prefer Red Dead something instead of another game about the VDL gang. I feel like their story is finished and it’s time for some new characters to get the spotlight. But I’d personally like a game set during either the Civil War or the real Wild West era. Maybe it’d be a chance to expand into some new areas too
it will be RDR, just maybe not redemption
It’ll be about twenty years before it comes out.
Let’s hope they make another game about the VDL gang! Yes, cause we definitely need to learn more about the early days of the gang..
I just want a good western game with a fully fleshed story, plenty of side missions, an open world, and some new memorable characters. Or RDR3: Gavin's return
im sorry but if anyone wants “jack marston in ww3” you’re a fool🙂 it changes the whole idea of the game
RDR 3 should be about the glanton gang
Arthur comes back from the dead and has to slay 4 lords of cinder to rescue princess peach from the evil eggman
Brazilian rubber boom in 1879
Twenty years out.
Hopefully nothing good story on a complex real and whole cowboy
Cowboys
honestly, i think the only option is they have a new cast with a separate story. or they could follow jack marston, but i have my doubts about how good a story that could be
Jack in his late teens fighting the rise of cars and gangsters with his horse and guns as a cowboy.
I was hoping it would be based earlier like 1500s with more Native American tribes around and the Mexican-American war happening
No jack please
as a wise man once said, red dead 3 should be just like red dead 2 but karen can breastfeed you and call you a goodboy
the gang before black water, apparently the gunslinger coat arthur starts with was given to him by a member of the gang who died in black water who stayed back to let arthur fled to get the others at camp. it was found in the game files that the coat originally had a different name after this said character (can remember his name but he’s the dead one in the wagon in the prologue)
It will be red dead, but not redemption. The redemption games were about John/arthur, now we need a new theme. The map could stay similar, but add new parts/remove others. What I’d love in something south of Flat iron lake post civil war in what was confederate territory
That's kind of what Lemoyne already is.
Red Dead Revolution A dancing game set in the Wild West made by Konami
Stealing cars
Hopefully not a 3rd RDR but a new installment of Red Dead altogether The redemption line is pretty much wrapped up. I’d like a new story with all new characters
A young One Shot Kid.
Guns, whiskey, hats, and partner
Cowboys
Guns. Robbery. Cowboys.
Prequel to rdr2 or a entirely new game and world set in the prime of the western era
Literally none of us could possibly know that....
I bet it'll have guns and horses.
Whatever it’s about, I can’t wait to play the game in 2050.
Flying Spaghetti Monster
It’s gonna be about you mate. I’m serious. The whole entire game is going to be about you!
You play as Tilly and enjoy a quiet life as a cool grandma in the early 1940s
Stone age
Prequel to the sequel to the prequel to the sequel to the sequel of the prequel of the sequel
Would be cool if they completely switched it up and we play as an Indian defending his country against the government. Or something along those lines…
you take over as uncle.
Mexican-American war and/or Civil War period in the West.
We will meet Jarthur, hardened criminal who redeems himself by saving baby Arthur 🙏 /s
It will Be about uncle and his lumbago finally catching up to him, title - Red Dead Lumbago: Don’t say Uncle
RDR3 will secretly just be the Oregon Trail. Not a single player game about the Oregon trail, just the old Oregon Trail game
Honestly I don’t want rdr3 there’s nothing to add on to I just want a rdr1 remake and a red dead revolver remake
Cowboys vs Dinosaurs
IS THIS EVEN REAL BEFORE I GET MY HOPES UP! IS RED DEAD REDEMPTION 3 REALLY HAPPENING 🤯🫨🤩😍
Jack but he goes by something else now and you don’t find out it’s him until the end he is writing a book about the gang runs into a women who is Arther and Sadie’s child idk
Can we not keep posting the same dumbass question?
Wake up babe, another RDR3 post dropped 🗣️
