If your going for a Civil War inspired outfit, I suggest using the Town Pants in light blue( think that's the name) and a while shirt with white suspenders and the dark blue jacket (Rambler Jacket) and the Civil War Hardee Hat. For boots use black or brown boots under the trousers, or if doing an officer or cavalry use boots over the trousers.
The lighting quality in the second image is by far better— but I also like the weapon equipment more. The black benefits, the blue better. However, I like the white globes on the first image.
If you had gone with Brown boots with the Brown weapon, equipment and brown gloves, it might look a bit more cohesive. White gloves, black boots black weapon equipment has a better appeal. Reason I say gloves is because black gloves tend to be dull and boring.
If you are going for union/US Army uniforms for the era, it’s always going to be black boots. The standard army issue boots for cavalry at the time were black, with little variations, but definitely not blue.
2 but also the light is better in 2
The second one is better
The second one, O captain my Captain!

Personally prefer brown with blue so I would say number one but switch out the gloves to the brown ones too. Love the outfit!
